Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Many people say that Dec 20th is to late in the year to release an album cuz it will suffer low sales numbers. So I just thought it would be interesting to see

If "Welcome to the Jungle: The Very Best of Guns N Roses" is released Dec 20th, 2005 and it actually turns out to be "Chinese Democracy" in disguise will you buy it or demand it for Christmas? (Throw a tantrum until someone buys it for you or whatever :hihi: )

Yeh of course I would buy it! Even though I pray to god its not another greatest hits just to please the record company! I would still buy it to add to my GnR collection like I did the first greatest hits! I just hope its not thats all! I still think its a cover up for something bigger! I dont think it will be the release of Chinese Democracy (although it would be nice!) I am thinking more a cover up for a single maybe! As I keep saying I just think its so fucking weird that there has been no word from Merck or anyone else to do with the band! Mike

I didn't really want to discuss the probability of the fact of CD in disguise (That is the other thread) I wanted this thread to be a poll type of thing. I'm not trying to be an ass or anything but if we carry on the same discussion in two threads one will get locked or they will get merged.

If the album rumored to be released On Dec 20, 2005 is, in fact released as "Chinese Democracy", will you buy it?

A) Yes I'll buy it regardless (I have to keep my GnR Collection complete)
B) I will buy it only if it is CD
C) No I will demand it for a Christmas Present though
D) No I will be broke from Christmas Shopping and will wait til April '06
E) No Axl is an Asshole and I will Never Buy GnR Material Again

Of Course I'll buy it. If, as you said, the album released is Chinese Democracy I think 99% of the members here will buy it before Christmas.

If that's the case, I will only buy if there's new recorded material (a few songs) that we haven't heard yet.

I still don't understand why people think CD will be released "disguised" as another album...  ???

because a second greatest hits album is just pure stupidity and it makes no sense what so ever.

plus, people in the band such as dizzy and tommy has stated that it will happen soon, merck has stated that 05 is the year of gn'r, we have already waited for years and years and sooner or later it will come out so why not now, not to mention the theory of calling it GH2 to throw the atention of it until it's actually in the stores, the list goes on and on....

plus i think johan had a few good points in the other thread....

it's actually more logic that it's CD than a new GH so that why some people hope and think that this just might be it.

If it becomes apparent that there will be SOME product on the shelves that day, but we never get any sort of real "official" information out of Geffen or Sanctuary...I'll be stopping by my local record store when they open at 9 AM to spec it out.

If we DO get official info, and it turns out it really is a Best of...I'll probably pass unless it contains some sort of rarities or new material.  I own all the albums...why buy it?

I still suspect that unless the release was approved by the band, it won't contain anything previously unreleased material (like Greatest Hits).

In Australia, CD's are the most expensive on Earth i heard, $30 Oz coin, but anyway........whats that, its not a $500 fuckin'   saving whatever present, its a fuckin' CD!!!

I might buy it if it's got remasters, something 'new' or some DVD or wicked art work or something.  I really hate the Greatest Hits though as it's so half-arsed.

Well its hard to comment on a cd due out in a month and we dont know ANY info on the tracklist...we only know the name...
If its really CD inside we all will get it.
This just dosent make no sence to me..Why release a best of last year then another this year....CRAZY..

"A" all the way. I own all of the Guns N' Roses albums. As everyone else, i really want to hear "Chinese Democracy" on my stereo, but a Greatest Hits 2 album wouldn't be so bad.

Right now, I will probably buy it. Especially if it has something new on it. If it doesn't, then I don't know. I'll just wait and decide when it's relesed.

 If it doesn't have at least one new song on it, then its just another pile of dogshit they're trying to sell you so Axl, old members, and Interscope can keep making money off of the past. I wasn't stupid enough to buy the other hits album, so I sure aint buying this one.

I didn't buy the "Greatest Hits" and I will not buy any other compilation.

I own all the albums, no point spending my hard earned money on the same "product" twice.

Not even as a present to a newbie, I'd rather present someone with a copy of AFD.

The next official GN'R CD I will buy will have NEW MATERIAL - or else I'll pass.

If it's "Chinese Democracy" I will buy it right away without even hearing a single note of that album in advance.

If there is something new or rare in this "best of", I will download it.

They dont deserve anymore of our money for rehashing the past. I think everyone should download the old songs. Your AFD gets scratched, download the damn thing. If you'll stop filling their pockets because Axl and Co. want to milk the past, we might get CD eventually. As long as you keep buying the annual hits package, you're not gonna see anything new. :rant:

  Call me old-fashioned, but I think artists deserve money for their work.  I'm just not cool with stealing.  Plus, if you want to use the logic, "Let's force Axl's hand by stealing his old music," I can see why Axl would think a few years back that the internet is a big garbage can.  Hey, while you're at it, really stick it to Axl and steal Chinese Democracy off the internet when it comes out!  Yeah, that'll show him not to stick to our time-table!  Doesn't he know that he owes us??  I'm ready to go into a Homer Simpson rant like he did with Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger:  "Axl's probably drinking his, Royal Crown cola!" (to those not familiar, that's dumb Homer not realizing RC is a crappy generic cola, not what its name suggests)

  Seriously though, if this new GH, if it really is a GH, bombs, do you really think that increases the odds of seeing CD anytime soon?  I don't.  Please understand, Axl has enough money to sit on his ass forever if that's what he chooses.  Whether he's a multi-millionaire or a multi-multi-multi-millionaire, "it don't really matter, you're gonna find out for yourself."   :hihi:

As its been stated many times before, I already own all the studio albums, why fork over more money for a repackaged edition of what Ive already bought in the past. If theres a bonus disc/dvd or a new track on it, ill be the first to buy it, but if not, the next purchase I make with the GnR namesake on it will be Chinese Democracy : ok:

Buy IF it is Chinese Democracy... IF is consist of OLD Songs, Forget it and move on with life...

We have many other things to do rather than just waiting for AXL to release CD....

I would buy it because I am an official (and un official :)) CD collecting whore.

Even if the CD contains all of the songs I already have, I would still buy it.  I am a GnR supporter, through and through. 

If it is GnR related, I want it and I most likely will buy it.

People like you don't deserve new material. You would really download new or rare material? I get the fact that you are against the best of thing, but downloading it isn't going to make a difference. Like someone said in another post, email universal and tell them you dont want a best of. At least that way they know some people arent happy with it.  : ok:

Not buying it. At this time im on the fence about buying Chinese Democracy as well. Dont think im a total dick because i also downloaded Contraband?(such a ironic title) :peace:
