Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I went to the Hookers N' Blow show tonight that Dizzy played in Raleigh, NC and I got to speak to him VERY briefly after they were done.  Rather than harrass him I just decided to offer him my support... so I said:

"Dizzy, good luck with Chinese Democracy, I hope it comes sooner than later" and he responded with:

"Thanks man, it will come sooner than you think"

Then I told him that I will see him do his solo shows in Raleigh later on in the week and he was happy about that. 

He played Yesterdays and Civil War with Appetite for Destruction, a GNR tribute band based out of Raleigh.  It was interesting to see.  I feel I should also note that he ended the Hookers N' Blow set with Patience. 

You shoulda harrassed him! Haha, jk. Any news is good news...  8)

Thanks for sharing the info. :beer: Maybe it is for real this time. I just saw another pig fly by my bedroom window. :hihi: It would be cool for Axl to release a statement and he says, "soon IS the word". Their recent statements do seem a little more optimistic this time, but we say that every year.

Not to mention the other players' words. Once it'll happen (maybe) but they don't know too much just what Axl tells them (and then things change...), and they're not in the position to have any effect on the release.

He obviously has a lot of faith in Axl and appreciates what the fans are going through, and wants to keep them optomistic as much as possible.

The only reason Dizzy would say sooner than you expect! is if he's talked with Axl about the issue. Maybe next time someone talks with Dizzy they can ask if he's talked with Axl. What the fuck does soon mean? ( sooner than you EXPECT!!!!!! ) I HAVE BEEN EXPECTING CD

I think I'm slowly turning to the negative side cause these quotes from Dizzy don't even excite me anymore.? You know it's sad when I'd rather take another story about Axl buying a mobile neon pegasus horse than listen to a band member say the "s" word.

guys there is one thing that I didn't mention because I was too tired and drunk last night to write it....

Obviously the show was on Halloween so there was a costume contest.  Well I dug out my old costume that I had in 2002 after the VMAs.  I was the 'new' Axl.  I had black cargo pants, an XFL jersey, braided hair, bandanna, sunglasses, and bucket hat. 

We all lined up for the crowd to choose who would win.  When I walked out there Dizzy just put his head down and started laughing.  Then when I got up he asked what the crowd thought of the 'new' Axl and I got booed by almost the entire place.  I heard some screams of "new Axl sucks, we want old Axl".  To say the least, I lost the contest. 

Then when Appetite for Destruction started playing I got invited up onstage by the 'old' Axl to sing a part of Welcome to the Jungle.  It was pretty fun.  They also played the opening to Chinese Democracy and then stopped after the opening line of the song. 

You know what? I don't believe anything anymore until the album is in my speakers and I'm hearing it.

haha gee I dont know... you are asking Mr. Pessimist what he thinks of this.  He was genuine when he said it, he didn't just mumble it to get me away from him.  He shook my hand said it to me.  I really felt like while he is not sure about it he wants to believe it.  Who knows!

If anyone is around the area Dizzy has his interview at 7 pm tonight on 106.1 in Raleigh.  I unfortunately will most likely miss it, but oh well!

Last night you remembered hearing Dizzy say "sooner than you think", but you didn't remember dressing up as Axl, Dizzy laughing at you, and then going onstage with Dizzy? This whole night is a hoax. You practically gave it away by saying they played the opening of CD and then stopped. Most people dont even know the song, there was no reason to tease the crowd with it. Dizzy once told his Aunt he doesnt know if CD will ever come out. I willl take her word for it since shes a family member.

I did not sing onstage with Dizzy.  I went onstage with Appetite for Destruction, the GNR tribute band to do Jungle.  During the costume contest we all went up onstage and the crowd cheered on which costumes they liked the best.  This happened after Hookers N Blow were done and before Appetite for Destruction came onstage.  AFD were the headliners.

NO not really , Mike, he says what people want to hear, when I talked to him like a normal human, he said that the band is together and behind and commited to GNR , and never said soon, but said thanks for stickin with us. A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE from people saying that soon , and shit. BUT , Im thinking , its gonna be alot sonner than the 2025 like many people think.,lol.

Hey all,

I told you earlier in the week about Dizzy's Halloween show I went to where he opened for Appetite for Destruction, a GNR tribute band based out of Raleigh.  Well last night I went to his piano show at RumRunners in Raleigh.

To say the least, it was a blast.  By the end of the night everyone in the bar and in the band was hammered, and the band struggled to finish the set haha.  I PROMISE to post more details about it later on tonight or most likely tomorrow.  Dizzy did speak about GNR and said some nice things about Axl. 

My gf, her roomate and I all sat at a table right on the stage literally and we got some great pictures of Dizzy and the guys jamming.  I will post them at another time as well.  They were so close that we literally talked to them while they were right there on stage without having to raise our voices.  It was great. 

But right now I am running late, and I have to watch some football...

*********************I wouldn't say supporting act..it was better for the guys to do the show early, and not alot of people know of Hookers N Blow, and alot of people know Appetite...so you pay respect to the hometown heroes...they were just simply asked to the show and they opted to go 1st...call it what you want...classy is what I'd call it...

About the show on October 31st. ?I can vouch for War 41. ?I saw him there. ?I was in the front and he was kind of behind me to the left. ?He had tuff time winning the contest with one chick flashing her breast and a huge half naked axe man. ?He probably could of won the contest if he had tighter braids. ?Destruction did play like eight seconds of Chinese Democracy. ?As for the boos...I can't remember cause I was drunk as well. ?I took a picture w/ Dizzy with my phone if you need "proof" I was there. ?As for Dizzy saying different release dates. ?That is defintely true. ?Cause he told me different date last time in Raleigh about a year ago. ?Hell, Tommy told me late spring of last year in Chapel Hill. ?He signed it on a poster which I hung up at a cd store I worked at because the staff joked that Chinese Democracy would never come out...

I thought the exact same thing when i saw the number of posts by "gnrrock"... lol. 1. I personally think this story is a hack. Its bs that War41 didnt talk about going on stage, meeting Dissy, and being dressed like new school Axl in the original story.

Well, we can hope. But considering that every comment by Dizzy in the past 5  years has  been wrong, or  misleading, I really don't think too much should be made of  this.

this is simply ridiculous - if you take some time off and come back to this board and read/see shit like that (Dizzy) - you just have to laugh ! Once there was this fucking great Rock 'n' Roll Band called Guns N' Roses - what do we have now ? Reality sucks sometimes...this sucks, for far too long now...sad...

I apologize for not posting the details when I said I would.  The network I use has been down since midnight Saturday night. 

As for the show itself....

The GNR songs played included You're Crazy, Don't Cry, November Rain, You Ain't the First (was fucking great), Patience, Used To Love Her, Knockin on Heaven's Door (I know not really GNR), and they closed with Sweet Child which was also great.  There may have been others but I can't remember offhand right now. 

Dont Cry was the first song they played.  Before they played it Dizzy said "I am not sure if you guys know this... but when I am not touring with these guys I am in a band called Guns N Roses". 

After November Rain was done he talked about Axl.  I remember he said "I tell you what man... nobody sings that song better than Axl."  He then went on to say that he is a great guy who works hard and no one ever cuts him some slack.  I don't remember exactly what he said there. 

Before You're Crazy he asked if he was "allowed to fucking curse in here" to which the crows roared. 

During one song a drunk ass bouncer came up onstage and sang with Scotty (Dizzy's guitarist in HNB).  He sat right next to him on this small stage and kept leaning on Dizzy's piano making it shift and move all over the place.  After the song was done the bouncer refused to leave the stage and Dizzy said "I sure wish I could play the fucking piano but it keeps on moving".  Finally other bouncers came up and got the guy off the stage.  After he was taken off Dizzy asked "what the fuck was that about?"

Now for the most hilarious moment of the night... at RumRunners they also have dueling pianos set up.  Well before Dizzy came on they had dueling pianos where this one old NASTY chick was playing and singing and the other player was a guy probably in his early 30's.  Well when Dizzy came on they shifted the pianos so that they could all fit on the stage and the woman's piano was moved.  During Dizzy's intermission they came back to play dueling pianos again.  Well this chick was LIQUORED UP beyond belief.  We were right up front so she kept looking at us and others up front screaming "who fucking moved my piano?  This is bullshit.  Fuck Dizzy Reed."  So a bunch of people say to her "Why don't you go fight him then?" to which she responded with "oh I will".

So.... she goes in the middle of her set to the back bar (where like 20 people followed Dizzy and the guys) and I decided to go to the bathroom and take a peak at what she would do.  I walk in the back and she is screaming at the manager of RumRunners about how "this fucking prick moved my piano, fuck him he isnt a rock star".  I about lost it. 

Finally at the end, Dizzy was sitting in front of us playing the guitar.  They were all wasted and Dizzy was getting a little dizzy (pun intended).  My gf, her roomate and I were drinking all night, but since my gf was driving she started drinking water.  Dizzy looks down and says "can I get some water?" and my gf's roomate picks up her beer and tries to hand it to him and he snaps back "no I said water!"  Haha after he got it he downed the entire thing. 

I do have pictures, and I actually had the opportunity to check my email yesterday on another computer so I emailed them to Jarmo to post, but I guess he either did not get them or he has not posted them yet.  Could someone give me their email so that I can send them to you to post them.  I am too lazy to figure it out.  I MAY REMEMBER MORE DETAILS LATER ON, so I hope I dont get accused of lying again!

And to respond to those who still question my story from Halloween.  Look, I got back home and did that post at like 2:30 in the morning.  I had been drinking Icehouse with a buddy all night long and I was hammered.  I could not sit at the computer and write everything out right there.  I just wanted to post the 'big news' from the night first before getting into all details.  I didnt know it was such a big deal to sing part of a song with a GNR TRIBUTE band.

I also did not know it was such a big deal for Dizzy to smile at some one and laugh.  Some of you are acting like jealous little girls.  It was a costume contest.  Dizzy helped to judge it.  Thus, when he saw me there on stage next to him he laughed. 

As for who gnrrock is, I am curious myself.  Did you dress up?

Dizzy Reed is FULL OF SH*T.  I met him 3 or 4 years ago at the cat club and he said it was soon.
If you don't believe me i put pictures of him at the cat club here.  This is very sad because Axl is not even in tune what his bandmate say.  There is no Democracy in China and never will be.  Get it Axl made his money and has no ambition to prove anything anymore.  China Democracy is a big joke get it!  Don't tread on me, because I went to the house of blues and the Joint shows in Vegas so don't tell me I'm not a fan.

Dizzy has ZERO CREDIBILITY!!!! How many times (years) has he said the same shit? Im really sick of his shit....
