Title: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: Carlos_f_Rose on November 01, 2005, 12:58:20 AM Hi guys, how are you doing?
? ? ?Well I was just thinking, it would be interesting to have some special guests in the next Velvet Revolver album. I personally would like to listen something of Beck, even when I'm not a huge fan of his, I really like what he did in the Duff Mckagan Solo Album -- Fucked Up Beyond belief -- maybe something from Lenny Kravitz, the guy received a lot of help and exposure in the good old gnr days, that certainly helped him to build the career he has today, its time to give something back. It would be cool to have something of Izzy Stradlin and Keith Richards too, anyway I could name hundreds of people that I would love to appear in the next album, what about you? ?Thanks for taking the time to read this. @;--,.-.-,--,-.-,.-,-.---t.p.r. Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: jameslofton29 on November 01, 2005, 01:22:23 AM I would like to see Michael Stipe from REM make a guest appearance. Or maybe Michelle Branch. Of course Izzy or Gilby would be a great choice.
Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: makane on November 01, 2005, 07:05:25 AM I'd like them to use the so called "best tracks ever written" which they did with Izzy 2002

Two completely different artists. Anyway, yeah, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing some guests on the next VR album, but only if it adds to the music, otherwise, what's the point? Well i doubt they would want other singers, but if it would be "steven tyler" "robert plant". Guitarists, be cool to see tom morello have a track Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: mikegiuliana on November 01, 2005, 05:40:22 PM it would be cool.. Slash n company definetly have a lot of buddies who would probably hook them up in a second.. I hope there are a few guests at a show once in a while like when izzy popped up in europe..
Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: nesquick on November 01, 2005, 05:52:18 PM Bob Dylan
Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: jimmythegent on November 01, 2005, 06:22:08 PM Bob Dylan Dylan? :hihi: err.. I cant see that quite working there for some reason I'd like to see someone like Page or May Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: tomass74 on November 01, 2005, 07:34:22 PM Bob Dylan Dylan?? :hihi: err.. I cant see that quite working there for some reason I'd like to see someone like Page or May Slash played on one of Dylan's albums..... Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: metallex78 on November 01, 2005, 08:20:59 PM Bob Dylan Dylan?? :hihi: err.. I cant see that quite working there for some reason I'd like to see someone like Page or May Slash played on one of Dylan's albums..... Did he? I thought that what Slash recorded for him didn't get used because Bob Dylan said it sounded "too much like GN'R" Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: tomass74 on November 01, 2005, 10:20:00 PM No, he was on one track.. I think it was a single too.... I'll look into it.. I am pretty sure it was just acoustic.
Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: Deez Nuts on November 01, 2005, 11:06:27 PM I'm completely sober right now so it makes it even more strange, but for some reason Willie Nelson popped in my head. It'd be cool for him and Scott to dual on YGNR. Definitely wouldn't be on any album but would be fun to listen to!

Post by: -Jack- on November 02, 2005, 12:49:13 AM I'd like them to use the so called "best tracks ever written" which they did with Izzy 2002 When was this said.. and why not include them on contraband? Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: jameslofton29 on November 02, 2005, 06:39:31 AM Because they're saving that material for a possible reunion with GNR. Its in the vault right next to the CD vault.
Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: SADIS on November 02, 2005, 06:47:36 AM I would love it if Juliette Lewis or Linda Perry would be on one of the songs....or Courtney love would be coo also...
Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: Jonathan on November 02, 2005, 08:31:31 AM I hope they don't have guests on their next album..
Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: GNR - CROATIA on November 02, 2005, 10:39:37 AM Would be cool...
Though, doubt they are kind of band where guests could fit in. Eg. Alice Cooper or Shannon Hoon on Illusions fit in just perfectly. Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: GNR - CROATIA on November 02, 2005, 10:44:29 AM From the impossible ones - Kurt Cobain.
From the possible ones - Billy Corgan, Jimmy Page, Gilby, maybe Robinson brothers. Imagine what these songs would sound like... Especially Kurt, since they already cover Negative creep Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. They weren't said to be the "best tracks ever written", I beleive Slash said that it is in his opinion the best GN'R instrumental album ever recorded, which featured, Izzy, Duff, Matt & Slash. All it would need is some killer Axl vocals. Man, I'd love to hear those recordings... Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. I cant see that quite working there for some reason I'd like to see someone like Page or May Slash played on one of Dylan's albums..... I know that You must acknowledge however, that theres a big difference between Slash guesting on a Dylan album (which Slash didnt think went well by all accounts and the fact that he is pretty much mixed right out of the track at the fade out) and Dylan appearing on a hard rock Velvet Revolver album? Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: jimmythegent on November 03, 2005, 03:48:24 PM No, he was on one track.. I think it was a single too.... I'll look into it.. I am pretty sure it was just acoustic. Its the opening track of Under the Red sky called Wiggle Wiggle. Its widely considered one of his poorer efforts and Slash plays an belated electric solo at the end which fades out very quickly - like 5 secs and then its gone Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: makane on November 05, 2005, 07:08:51 PM Have you people recently really started to wait for Contraband follow-up? I sure have, it's actually the only album im waiting, i'd actually take it over CD now.
Jimmy, your avatar is brutal :nervous: Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: jameslofton29 on November 05, 2005, 09:53:26 PM You would prefer VR's 2nd album over CD?? :phone: Calling the lynch mob now. :hihi:

I know vr will deliver and album either way.. Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: tomass74 on November 07, 2005, 07:07:53 PM I lost interest in CD a few years back.. I am very excited for VR to get back in the studio and kick our asses on the road again....
Title: Re: Special Guests in the Next VR album. Post by: Carlos_f_Rose on November 07, 2005, 07:31:00 PM Well I would like to listen to the new VR too guys, with guests specially Izzy..

Post by: jmapelian on November 09, 2005, 11:57:15 AM You would prefer VR's 2nd album over CD?? :phone: Calling the lynch mob now. :hihi: I would much rather have VR's second album to CD. From the songs I've heard, I'm not gonna be to crazy about CD even if there not the A list tracks. The best I've heard are Madagscar and The Blues and I can think of every song on Contraband that I would rather hear. I just prefer simple rock n roll to overproduced ballads with "sound effects" what the fuck is that |
