Title: help me with baby names (female)
Post by: mikegiuliana on October 29, 2005, 06:25:39 PM
next month I will have my second daughter and would like to get a worldy grouping of names from my fellow gunners.. So please just pick names off the top of your head that you enjoy rather then listing baby names directories.. I already have baby name books..

P.s. no erin, stephanie, rose, or issabella roses :peace:

Chlo? (but I think it's a french name, don't know if it works for international).

Jessica is pretty cool. I like this name. Or just "Jessy".

Jessy is great if you are American or anglo-saxon native language.

My suggestions:

Please , please just don't name her Tyler, Taylor, Madison, or Katelin.  My daughters school is crawling with them.  I've never liked the trend of using a last name for a first name either.

Personally, I like nice normal names:

Elizabeth, Emily, Kristina

I don't think its right to torture a kid with a strange name.  When they are adults they might not care, but as children, they hate it.  They hate having their name mispronounced and having to correct the teacher in front of an entire class.  They hate that no one can spell it.  They hate that they can't get personalized pencils, keychains, anything.  Just don't go with wierd.  Its not cute, its mean.

How many more Maddies do we really need? That name seems to be really popular right now.

I don't reccommend Katrina or Wilma either! Stay away from the named hurricanes that made landfall.

I totally agree with you re the last names as first names thing!! I hate that. There are so many baby boys around called things like: Cooper, Bailey etc - I hate that!!

Miranda

Just remember, that as little girls, they like to buy things with their name on it, combs, toothbrushes, other things.
(for the first 10 years of my daughter's life, there was nothing with her name on it, nothing, she was so happy when something  finally did.)

I wouldn't recommend that papa Purple. :-\

First of all, Congratulations, mike!  :D

Giselle would get my vote, if it's not the name of a sad ballet heroine.
as a kid I had Sky and Rain in my class. I didnt know they were such common names.

the most regular international name I know is Lisa.
