Here Today... Gone To Hell!

What other message board has more members with more topics over basically nothing of any real substance.? I know we all come everyday/week in hopes for news on a new album and news on ex members.? But it so sad.? There isn't shit to really talk about.? We have analyzed every focking thing so many focking times, we start analyzing shit from the past, just to be interesting.? I can't think of any other band message board with as dedicated fans as we are.? I love it.? Though, it is still sad how much we are all into it.? I love how we make fun our selves too. Like when "Saul" says, "Chinese Democracy Starts now" over something stupid.? I almost laugh out loud every time.? Was the all time low topic, "Axl's Teeth"?? Anyway, don't have much to say other then we are one messed up group of fans, I love it, and I love GNR.? ?Now bring on CD!!? Or Bring on a Reunion.? I dont think we are pathetic. We are just passionate about a band whose music means so much to us. We are all a little wacked in the head, and sometimes dont agree on everything, but we are all in this together for a common goal. In the real world, Guns N Roses fans are hard to find. Years ago when GNR forums started showing up on the net, I realized there were people just like me in the world who lived and breathed Guns N Roses. I'm glad Jarmo created this site, and I'm glad we have this place to share our memories and dreams for GNR, and of course our wild speculation about Chinese Democracy. I truly consider you all "friends". :beer:

Well, I don't really mean "pathetic".  I am basically just joking.  But what I like is how everyone's personality is kind of consistent and you kind of know how posters post.  Dave, Booker, Younggunner, Jamesloften, for a while Mysterion, and Darkmeus, Jarmo, Tomass, Saul, meanbone.  Its kind of cool seeing everyone eles's opions.  There are so many good posters too.  Are we almost like the BoSox fans when they had the curse?  Then when they got the world series, they didn't have that bond anymore.  Just kidding, when we get it, it will be bad ass.

Hey, I don't mind at all.  Another member once used a line of mine when I said "Axl and Slash are the divorced couple that never got over their marriage".  If the album came out, we would be bombarded by a bunch of new members asking questions like, "why did this take so long?"  Who was Buckethead?  Where is Slash?  Just kidding.

You have to just be glad the net exists or you would have to do like the old days hunting through magazines for little snips of info.. There are definetly delusional people here... I think when you love something or someone so much your mind gets clouded and you see what you want..

I remember those days of looking through magazines hunting for the latest news. Now you get all the info and speculation you want at the click of a button. These new fans are so lucky! :hihi:

You make a good point...when I was growing up listening to GN'R we had Kerrang, Metal Hammer and word of mouth. You accepted it and got on with it. In some ways I liked it...when you did find something, it was exciting. You craved it.

I use to love getting metal edge and looking through the metal wire.. ?Also hit parader had shit too.. It was much better then now.. Every body that starts some rumor can now be some credible source that might end up in one of these online line rock/metal rag sites. Back then when you read something it was most likely truth

Yeah, those were the days! My favorites were Circus, RIP, and Hit Parader. Circus had a GNR cover story almost every month. RIP was spectacular! Del James and Lonn Friend would give great GNR scoops that no one else had. They gave new song info, tracklists, etc. Now all we get is anonymous "insiders" telling info that never comes true. :hihi:

You can't really blame the so called 'insiders' or people that try to solicit information. Maybe some of what they say is true, just doesn't work out. I agree there's probably a select few that get off on making stuff up. Its only the way it is because GN'R refuse to communicate and make it hard for the fans.

It is kinda pathetic, but you have to blame that on Axl for not caring enough about us fans to release any material or even give the tiniest statement on his site. ?You know it's funny, pre 2002, these boards were full of older fans that were waiting for Axl to reappear. Now they seem to be full of kids who think Axl and Chinese Democracy is going to be the second coming of christ.

i agree, scott should stick to grunge and the rest should stick to hard rock, not a crappy mix of the two.

Contraband with out vocals is bad ass music.  But I like with vocals too.  Lets give the next album a chance.  It should be recorded in a normal environment.

Not everyone loves all the new gnr songs but because we like axl we would give his next piece of work a chance..  You may have not liked CB but many others did.. if I like the artists involved in the project I will give them a second chance because the prior work proves they have talent..

Today is the very focking reason we come everyday.  It really justifies our patheticness.  Will our bond be less after the album comes out?  This is has got to be one of the greatest band message boards around.  We are no longer pathetic, unless he disappears into an abyss again.

Being a BoSox fan, I can say there are alot of similiarities-in how we pour over every bit of news or non news, ever rumor, every possiblility, our passionate attachment to players/bandmembers....but the reward, when it comes, is beyond anything you could ever experience. and think about this-the Sox victory was a one-time thing, time marches on and new seasons come and go. but IF CD is released, you relive that reward everytime you play it :)

Saul, I had to dig up this thread I started back in October because I felt like it was times like this that justified it and you have to sheot on my parade...  This is my most successful thread I ever started outside of Axl's teeth.... :hihi: just kidding.  That had to be Younggunner.  Fo real, nice demo Mr. Hudson.

I don't know if it's "pathetic" as such, but man, Axl and the original GN'R put out so much music that really got to me in a way that no other band has. And some of those songs got me through some pretty tough times too, so I guess that's why I (and many others here are) clinging on to hear if Axl will release more great music like that.

I think it's pretty amazin that we can communicate w/ fans around the world....it's hard to find gnr fans....(although my best friend and sister are die hard fans as well....and to tell u the truth...talkin bout gnr w/ my sis is a guarantee that we WON'T have an argument! haha!  you could say GNR saved our relationship  ;)  )

These past two days have been the biggest since the inception of HTGTH!!!!

When you think about it, it IS truly amazing that our passion for this man and his vision has endured for so long.

We are much worse then the Van Halen friends.

Are we in a Van Halen situation right now?  Kind of like a post Roth situation.....  Is Slash David Lee Roth?  Is the new Band Hagar?  We liked Van Hagar, but never really compared to Van Halen.  Am I carazy?

Over a year later, I ask the same question, "How Pathetic Are We."  We are like the dog that keeps getting beat by his owner, yet still loyal.  Will this dog ever bite?  Probably not.  In a message board era in which we are fucking censored to keep moral high for the up coming 10 year in the making album, I have hit an all time low in not being able to express my opion about this GNR world we are currently in.  I find myself playing in VR side a lot lately with their second album due out in just a few months.  Already recording songs. They get killed over there, but on the GNR side, you must watch what you say.  I hope they don't delete this thread.  There are some great posts in it.  Where is James and Saul.. Ha!  We are all fans and want what is best!  Being the joke of the musical industry is not what any of us invisioned!  We all imagined a second coming of Ozzy Osbourne like when he left Sabbath.  Right now its looking more like Steve Perry out of Journey.  I will keep hope alive.  I will come here everyday.  I will also question my sanity and patheticness to be so loyal to something that frankly, hasn't produced shit in a very long time. 

For Those About to Rock, I Salute you, unless you live in Fresno, or Main, or Philly.. Just kidding. 

I hope to see the album soon so I don't have to make posts like this anymore.
