Title: Backyard Babies
Post by: Estranger on November 05, 2003, 08:46:50 AM
Has anyone else heard their new album Stockholm Syndrome, it?s fucking great!
They, instead of The Darkness should be titled "the saviours of rock"

yeah! i loved them since right before the Makin Enemies.. album... i downloaded the "duke nukem theme"... got Get Dead... i figured out who it was and got hooked!!!

they rock! im seeing them May 4 in Oslo!! jeeeej!

isnt it strange that the most popular band play ONE show in a country, and a not so popular band plays 3/6 shows in different places.....   : ok:

EDIT: i bought the "special" version of Stockholm Syndrome with Shut The Fuck up, and it really is the greatest hard rock song in 2003!! its fast, vicious and got everything!! too bad it wasnt on the normal album!

I'm really sick of them. They seem so very concerned about looking cool and being rock n roll instead of writing good music. Total 13 is still awesome though.

This reminds me of the VR gig.

BB were a lot better than the opener VR had in Stockholm.  : ok:

I didn't recognize more than two songs so I have no idea what they played, but I guess they were good.

Just a bit ironic that I travel from Sweden to England to watch Swedes play rock n' roll.  :hihi:

"The time has finally come to release the long-awaited, and much talked about, DVD!

The title is "Jetlag - The Movie". On the same date, a live album entitled "Live Live in Paris" will be released. Release date for both items will be January 26.

On the DVD, you?ll get an inside and an outside view of what has happened during the past 15 years. Exclusive live shots, behind the scenes footage made by BYB themselves and their friends, individual interviews and a general rollercoaster ride around the world in an insane fuckin? tempo!

The live album was recorded at La Maroquinerie, Paris on May 6, 2004.

Sony BMG Records has teamed up with Swedish recordstore "Bengans" for a special pre-order project. Go to below links if you?d like to pre-order your copies!

I don't know if the new Live CD "Live In Paris" is available in US and UK but it really rocks! The Making Enemies-songs sound great!
only available as an import, the only official U.S. releases so far are "TOTAL 13"(the best record since "appetite"), and the new one "TINNITUS", this is also amazing,, it is kind of a greatest hits, the label wanted to split up "STOCKHOLM SYNDROME" & "MAKING ENEMIES", and make one CD, the band wanted to add some of "TOTAL 13"  too, so what you get is 4 songs from each CD, PRETTY SWEET DEAL

Title: Re: Backyard Babies
Post by: Steve McKagan on June 15, 2005, 03:32:18 PM
That sounds nice. The weird thing is that Total 13 wasn't released in the US until after Making Enemies was in europe. So they had two release partys for two different CDs at the same time!!!

That song really sounds like the Ramones

Agreed.

Their first album Diesel & Power comes to mind too.
Not their best song, but surely it will grow on me in time.

After three weeks ByB will start their European tour from Helsinki. Can?t wait!

yeah, cant wait to see em! but noooo, i have  to have a fucking gig with one of my bands!!!!! damnit!
do you know when they usually start a show? maybe ill rush over to john dee after my show.... hell, its on (the day before) my birthday too!

This time they have an opener (at least in Helsinki), so I?d guess around mid night.

How many bands do you have?  :o

HAHA..
ONLY 2...
Black Rose and then there Wreckless... Wreckless is punk, wich i joined just for playing live... not my type of band, nor persons in the band.. boring as fuck... but hey, its playing shows! hehe

the funny thing is that i met black rose in a bar when the very first night i was out with wreckless... pretty sick..

back on topic, yeah, i hope they are playing late, cuz i reaaaally wanna see them in oslo!!!

i have their latest album as well... i gotta say, i'm a huge BYB fan, i've met them before, was backstage with them in the VR tour as well.
this new album is much different from stockholm syndrome. SS is a heavy rock straight foward, no fucking around CD, it kicks you in the head... that's how heavy it sounds.
this one is a lot more rock n roll... perhaps a lot more of the latest hellacopters... not as much, but more classic rock/punk to it. i gotta say i?m hooked and i can't w8 for it to come out so i can buy a copy myself. the first track ppl like ppl, like ppl like us doesn't strike me as the strongest tho...
the cd has a lot of classic sounds to it, from gn'r to ac dc, motorhead... hanoi rocks... it's just pure class... and even tho it's not as catchy as SS, it sure is a lot of fun to listen to. : ok:

Saw them live in ?rebro yesterday at Festivalborg. It was outside and reeeeally cold, but they still performed a kick-ass show (as always).

And the best thing is that they'll be here in july too on the Where The Action Is-Tour, together with The Hellacopters, The Hives, Millencollin and Soundtrack Of Our Lives. That will be something! :D

i hope they come to the USA. i'd really like to get to see them live. my 2 favs on this new cd are "roads" and "things to do before we die".

Did they open for VR in Europe? that'd be a killer show!

i heard that they have trashlight vision opening for them. You guys that get to go to those shows are lucky.

I'm also a big fan of backyard babies, got the albums have been to shows, got band t-shirts, you name it, lol

anyway what i thought was fuckin cool was that i was lookin on guns n roses myspace page and was looking at the friends and was seeing like baz and dizzy and bumblefoot as among their best friends then i saw dregens (BB's guitarist) myspace also among their best friends, of course this prolly mean nothing but i thought it was fucking cool, and my dreams about BB being an opener for 2007 looks a little more realistic :headbanger:

I think BYB met GN'R at the Donnington festival this summer and also at the after-party at Caf? Opera in Stockholm, so I guess they know each other a bit.

I was at BYB's home-coming show in N?ssj? last week, and man it did rock! And a great after-party too...

If you don't already have it, I recommend you to pick up the re-issue of their debut album "Diesel & Power" from 1994. It has improved sound quality and sounds fresh and new.

went to see BYB yesterday!

saw them in 04 and that was awesome tight as hell and flawless playing!

so i was expecting the same thing now. but didnt get it. not too much passion from the band. fucked up a hellofalot times.

but i had a great time so i dont care.

some girls were beeing jerks and shoving og jumping and my GF argued with them so i started to shove them around to do the "eye for an eye" thing. and one girl actually punched me in the chest. kinda hard too.. but she split fuckin' fast! haha.. pussy :p

anyway, one guy tried to give johan a guitar pick, but he just looked at it and kinda simulated to play with it and threw it away! awesome!

dregen looked like shit! but dregen is dregen! awesome! haha...

cool show anyway, but alot of guys where dissapointed though.

why dont bands hardly ever come to the midlands. its always bloody london and places which i have no idea about.

im probably going to try nottingham since thats the closest out of the 3, however im told the place if full of gun crime and is a bit dangerous for someone like me, aged 16?

Nah, that's bullshit.  Just get to the venue, watch the gig and then go home.

London is probably the safest place you can go for a gig.
