It seems GNR never played that song at some concert before!, there are some ?intros? but they didn?t played it at all, something tells me they had plans to play it sooner or later before the band got separated n? destroyed but when GNR came back again in 2001 AXL didn?t seem to care ?bout it anyway, does Axl hate the spaghetti incident album truly?  Did he never wanna record that album honestly? ?Everyone knows it?s a good album, even ?Since I don?t have you? it?s a masterpiece too but There?s something very weird behind this story cuz Axl keeps TSI off his plans TO DATE!

I thought TSI sucked when it came out and i still think it sucks! and no I doubt they will ever play anything off it live. It was the end of the Orig GnR. Why revisit that?

That?s your own opinion guy but we all can't discriminate TSI this way too!, GNR made a nice tribute to all those bands who ruled the world for years!, even Axl n' Ex-GNR members covered those songs better more than the originals ones!  :smoking:

Knockin' On Heaven's Door was one of the band's biggest hits and is one of the most wellknown songs they play.

Nothing from "The Spaghetti Incident?" comes even close in popularity.


To answer your question: No I don't think they'll play covers the old band picked for that album (including Since I Don't Have You). If they're gonna add cover songs tot heir set, I hope they pick something else. Something we haven't heard them do.

TSI contains greatest hits although they don't belong to GNR, specially ?Human being? , Axl n? GNR did their best to cover this song, I get shocked every time I hear it by GNR cuz it made me see that Axl is real hero to sing! so greatest hits are greatest hits n? for me it'd be nice to hear'em again by GNR!? :beer:

Ok , here it is .. I was talking to axl 5 minutes ago and I asked him , and he said just for you he will play the song and the whole TSI? cd , front to back .. but beause of this he wont be playing any new songs.

I think Human Being is easily one of the strongest covers on that album. Down on the Farm, and Aint it Fun come in before it for me though.

Human being is a masterpiece, gnr is the only band able to play it that way!, honestly other bands will not play that song perfectly, if you hear its lyrics you understand why Axl made the choice to sing it, even this cover is much better than the original song, anyway it's my favorite one!  :smoking:

I dont know if Id go as far as to say its better than the original by the Dolls, but it is an intriguing cover nonetheless.

It?s better than the original by the Dolls, their singer ain?t have a' amazing voice like Axl, either they didn't have a guitar player like Slash, the Dolls was a band who tried to do all they could those times but GNR appeared to change the show business forever!, GNR is the best rock band ever,.. Axl: When we started rehearsing and living in a little crap hole off Sunset and Gardner, it was just a song, for some reason, I wanted to do, and Slash wanted to do it a long time ago and we really don't know why we weren't motivated.

Slash: I heard you sing it when you were living at my house and since you sang it with so much fervor.

Axl: I don't know why I really like that song, I just did and we were on the road, we had there days off in Boston and the song just fit things at the time and so we went and did it without having any clue of really what it was going to sound like musically, because it's a really different string arrangement and everything than the original and we went in and just had fun with it.

Slash: There's a good story going behind that song because I think it was one of the first songs that started to turn the Spaghetti Incident? thing into an actual album. And we did it on off-time on the road and recorded it in some makeshift studio in Boston, brought like rental gear down there coz all our gear was on the truck and that was how badly we wanted to do it. We just pulled out whatever we had and talk about Gilby's guitar, we used his practice guitar and we couldn't find a guitar store in Boston.

Slash: I played Gilby's Tele on "Since I Don't Have You" because I had rented a Les Paul that was a piece of shit.

Gilby: It's a terrible song. I don't like it. When we did the Punk album (`The Spaghetti Incident?'), we'd record stuff on days off. We did 'Since I Don't Have You' in Boston in one day! I didn't think it was gonna be on the record.

In Venezuela you can get it on TSI these days n' the reason why SIDHY'd bring legal troubles to Axl it's cuz everyone knows that song belongs to a' album which gives a tribute to a criminal maniac called Mason, at least in the u.s.a Axl has a lot of enemies all cuz of he used that creepy t-shirt many times! but I honestly say i'm not sure why he doesn't wanna play SIDHY to date!

You're right.. it's not that they were one of the major precursor's to the punk movement without which we wouldn't have GN'R or anything.. The New York Dolls weren't anything special at all.

The Doll's version kils the guns version. The GN'R one sounds too "busy" and it fails to catch the original garage band feel.

Exactly what I meant. I noticed alot of the covers had a lot of potential but just sound to glossy to me, Hair of the Dog for example, it was purely the raw vibe and vocals that made that song so great, but Axl's vocals just sound so overdubbed I cant appreciate it as much as the original.

In Venezuela you can get'em still! A friend o'mine bought the TSI CD n' it's still has the hidden track! , maybe those songs were edited in countries which speak English only!  :hihi:

It can't be right cuz GNR is better than The Doll, Axl has a perfect voice n' they recorded those tracks in L.A city at amazing studio in 1993 while those other bands produced their albums poorly cuz they didn't have the nice technology like GNR, either they didn't have a' amazing singer like Axl, so TSI will always rule for sure!   ::)

Sure Axl does have a killer voice but that doesnt instantly mean it will sound perfect with any song, or just any genre. I fail to see what poor production, or GnR's methods of production really have in relation to the musical outcome. Some songs can be covered, and others cant. Its a matter of opinion.

since i have you was one of the worst songs off of TSI? besides anything that duff sings on. dont get me started on duffs vocals. they shouldnt play it live, ever. not to mention, the best part of the song isnt axls vocals, its slash's guitar. the best songs off of TSI? are hair of the dog, black leather, human being, in that order.

AxlRoseVen... just because a band has a "better" vocalist and expensive equipment doesn't mean the song is better. Im convinced you won't be able to see this though because you seem blinded...

Also.. what part of garage band sound don't you understand? Last time i checked.. garage bands didn't have exellent singers or expensive equip. Some songs are just better raw. And Human Being is one of them. Im not saying the guns version is bad.. it just fails to catch the "who really cares, were just playing for fun" vibe that the Dolls had. And thats what makes the original better.

Part of me doubts you've even given the original a listen.. (but if im wrong please don't waste your whole responce telling me that)

vasoline73, great point about TSI. :beer: Its a good album, but you're right. Its way too polished, and its like the original intent from the original artists was sucked right out of the songs. The most pathetic part of the album is during the 'Buick Makane' outro of 'Big Dumb Sex'. Axl doesn't even sound genuine when he's singing the verse. Listen to Cornell sing it, and then listen to Axl. Cornell sings it with true feeling. Like he's screaming it to his girlfriend/groupie/one night stand. Axl sounds like he's sitting there singing it while reading it from a piece of paper. This album is one of the many mysteries of GNR. Not just the fact that it was recorded, but also in the way it was recorded, and how the band didn't seem to really give a shit. But this statement brings up an interesting question: Since they didn't give a shit, why bother polishing this record?  When/If Axl comes back, I hope he is asked some questions about the making of TSI, the real reasons for TSI, and how he feels about this album today.

afd gnr would have probably done tsi much better.. They had that FU attitude and against the grain way.. By 1993 gnr was just rich rockstars basically a band divided..

Buddy,  how old r ya? children just hear bands like simple plan n' avril lavigne cuz they think that?s good music truly but if u ain't a little kid so you must learn more 'bout greatest hits, TSI is a real tribute to amazing songs, i just want gnr to play those hits again cuz gnr is the best band ever!

I think when Axl and Gn'R returns, he should let the music he has been creating off and on for 7-8 years do the talking..not a bunch of tracks he covered 12 years ago.
