Title: I wonder how many tracks will be on CD
Post by: dave-gnfnr2k on October 07, 2005, 11:29:51 PM
At one point Axl said 18, tommy later said 11 or so. I would like to think its somewhere in the middle like 13-15.  I hope its not just 10 or 11 because that would really be a disapointment.

Your guess is as good as mine, maybe 14-15.

i hope its like 10 tracks.

short and sweet. no filler. every track a hit.

with that being said, this could also be possible with 15 tracks......just depends on the strength of axl's material.

i would say it'll most likely have 16 or so tracks on it. It will have some 8 minute ballads, Locomotive style songs but also a couple shorter 3 minute songs like Garden Of Eden

I would say 14 or 15.  Still hoping for a double album though. 8)

I think it will be a short album. Tommy has mentioned it being "not a very long album", and I believe him. Regardless of whether you think Axl has 50-200 songs, we're only gonna get the best tracks. I'm happy with that. If the album has several big epics, it doesn't leave much room for other songs. If the album is epic heavy, I say CD will have 8, 9, or 10 songs. If Axl has some really long epics, and wants those to dominate CD, it might only have 6 or 7 songs. Which would put it in the category of an EP. Better this than 16-20 average songs. Remember, we want quality over quantity.

Perhaps you're referring to this...

'Stinson also says that he listened to the final mixes recently and "added his two cents," noting that the songs were mostly quite long and epic, but "mind-blowing and fucking huge." A few of the songs are pretty epic in length, but that's always been GN'R's thing, hasn't it? I don't think it's a particularly long album, but I think the six I heard are pretty epic. I mean they are just... fucking huge, you know [laughs]'

I read "I don't think it's a particularly long album" as
"I don't think the album is too long."
(=I think the album is not particularly long but purty long.) :P
