Title: Robin credited as story writer for LA musical theatre show
Post by: Eva GnRAxlRosette on October 05, 2005, 06:52:39 PM
from  site of composer Veronkia Krausas http://veronikakrausas.com/events/

The Vera Ikon Production company has produced shows and events in Los Angeles that include theatre, dance, acrobatics, music and video. The collaboration of artists from these different disciplines creates a dynamic blend that is sometimes challenging but always interesting.

In April 2003 she presented a theatrical event with acrobatics and music, My Birthday Party, with director/actor Daniel Passer and choreographer/acrobat Bianca Sapetto at the Miles Memorial Playhouse in Santa Monica, California.

My Birthday Party
Spectators arrive to the Birthday Party of a 13-year old and are surprised when a typical cake-and-presents event evolves into a magical, flighty wonderland involving acrobatics, storytelling, music, acting and clowning. The performers are former Cirque du Soleil acrobats and some of this country?s award-winning actors, performers, and musicians.
Stories are by Carl Sandburg, Viggo Mortensen, Robin Finck and Oded Gross

By combining musical theater with acrobatics, director Daniel Passer, composer Veronika Krausas, and choreographer Bianca Sapetto present an entirely original experience. With the music of Tango Nuevo and members of the much-acclaimed Cirque de Soleil, My Birthday Party strikes exactly the right balance (no pun intended) between intellectual high art and pure spectacle. I thought the board members would be interested in this since, other than making collages, we rarely hear/read about anything Robin's doing.

I third it. Maybe that's why Tommy mentioned Robin and dance?

I'd love to see the show.

Robin is an interesting and strange character. He probably hangs out with Axl more than we think

and choreographer Bianca Sapetto

Robin's wife.

You'll also be interested to know that the picture of Robin in the bear suit on his site is from that show.

I totally agree. I think he most definately has formed a huge bond creatively and personally with Axl. Some of you see Robin as untalented but to Axl, (and mark my words on this one), he's probably a genious.
