Posts don't mean a thing...

It's always quality over quantity... Except one thing...  ;D

08.31.91 - Wembley Stadium, London, England
opening acts: Nine Inch Nails, Skid Row
set: Perfect Crime, Mr. Brownstone, Bad Obsession, Welcome To The Jungle, Live And Let Die, Dust N' Bones, Double Talkin' Jive, Civil War, I Was Only Joking [Intro] / Patience, You Could Be Mine, November Rain, Nightrain, Drum Solo, Guitar Solo, Godfather Theme, Sail Away Sweet Sister / Bad Time [Intro] / Sweet Child O' Mine, 14 Years, My Michelle, Only Women Bleed [Intro] / Knockin' On Heaven's Door, Estranged, Paradise City

also there has been some short wembley91 tv-broadcast from "mr. brownstone" and compared to "live era"......drums and vocals are different for sure.

FAKE ERA!!

Yeah, it was on MTV Europe in September 1991.

I haven't listened to the Wembley bootleg that closely, but as far as I remember, Axl sang some extra words that aren't on Live Era. I think the word motherfucker was used a few times.  :hihi:

Right check this out if you want. I was watching the tokyo show on dvd and listening to pretty tied up on my ipod in exact sync with the show, Everything is perfect excpet for about the last 30 - 40 secs were axl keeps singing and its not on the live era version. But the drums crashing, the guitar playing, bass, everything is perfect excpet for that. Now how is that possible to cut out axls vocal??

my mistake, ive got the bootleg and my michelle is missing from the setlist on the back cover, but after listening to it ive found its on there..... ;)

At the start of brownstone on both wembley bootleg and live era axl asks a sound engineer to turn his mike volume up. but the drums change towards the end.

Haha, almost all of Axl's vocals from the live album are not from any concert.  I definitely would love to be at any concert where Axl sings "Rocket Queen" exactly the way he does on the supposed "live" disc.   :hihi:  the album still sounds okay though, just too phony.

Did Axl ever sing those high notes on Used To Love Her and the extra high note in the Nightrain chorus?

Title: Re: Live Era songs from which concerts
Post by: badapple81 on October 09, 2005, 04:37:33 AM
Yes I've heard Nightrain sound very similar.

I don't understand why it was so over produced and altered. Axl's voice wasn't always perfect but they must have taped so many shows to get the good songs with good vocals. WTTJ from Chicago 92 for example.. sounds great.. why not use that for the Live Era track? Anyway this is all Dead Horse now.

yeah Rocket Queen was brilliant on live era. Man this sucks then that its all pretty much fake Lets try and find out which ones are real if any. I think estranged is real becuase it really was that good in the Tokyo concert. I don't know about any others. And hey Briggsy if you could upload that it would be fantastic to hear it man.

Its funny i dont think they told slash cuz i read an interview with him were he said when he heard it he had no idea they were such a good live band. Anywayz people thought and still tihnk that Live Like a Suicide is live too but it says in that book , "the band that time forgot", that those 4 songs aren't live either. Ah well at least we have the proper bootlegs

Almost, I think there are a big different...

the vocals on "Estranged" were either re-recorded or used from a different concert.? If you listen closely, Axl change a word or two and sings certain parts slightly differently

also, wasn't "Paradise City" taken from more than one concert?? I could be wrong but I thought I read that one was pieced together

EVERY song from Live Era was remastered/remixed/cut from various live recordings/etc, some may have even been completely redone, we really have no official info on any of this, just going by what others have heard from various shows and from what i have heard from various shows

end of discussion :P
