You can always enter at the US-Mexico border.  I heard that you don't have to have a visa to enter down there.

Just don't cross at the regular entries, and you can come right in.  Just steer clear of guys with t-shirts that say "minute men."

In all seriousness, it sucks that you can't visit.  May I ask what you were going to Orlando for?  Just Disney and the whole 9 yards?

Personally, I would say screw Orlando when you can go to Argentina or Chile.  Those countries are beautiful.  But I guess Orlando is completely different.

I feel sorry for someone who just wants to come on vacation and gets turned down because the state department is so suspicious of everyone due to the high rate of people coming on tourist visas and staying.

Yeah I know, but US is right to be suspicious cause here people are leaving the Country like there's no tomorrow, the situation here unacceptable. I hope that for God sakes the government stop being such a corrupts

OK, time for an embarassing admission:

I'm a Disneyworld nut.

There, I said it.

My wife and I just love Orlando, and Disney (and Universal, etc).  We're taking our 1 year old son in January (our 3 year old daughter has already been, twice).

I'm lucky in that, just about every other year, I get to go down there for a conference..which means the trip is almost free, and we get put up in a Deluxe hotel.

I'm counting the days!

Lets put it this way.  A more appropriate name for you will be:

Mr. Dick's fallen off

OR

Mr. Dick Blue.

Most of Canada is fucking cold in the winter.  Very, very fucking cold.

Even this trip will be (starts Jan 6th, so most of the kiddies are back in school)....

Have you been to Disneyland?  Sorry if this is going too far off topic, but I'm curious if you've been to both since I was just having this discussion with someone.  I've been to both, and while Disney World has more to do, I just don't think the "magic kingdom" even comes close to Disneyland.  Of course, I'm a Disneyland freak.  If you haven't been yet, you'd probably love it.  I'm actually considering going for the Thanksgiving holidays...nuts, I know.

A couple of times, actually.  And I do love it.  But, for us, the trip is just much tougher to make, especially now, with young kids.  We're from CT, so a trip to CA means 3 things that a trip to FLA does not:  A MUCH longer flight, changing planes with layover, and a time change.  With just my wife and I, it was a drag losing most of 2 days in travel.  With the kids, now (3 yrs old and 1 yr old, respectively), it's just too tough.

And we do prefer Florida for the vast number of things to do in a very small area.  We tend to take LONG trips (10 days or more) so....

And, since DL is smaller than MK and has a much higher % of Annual Passholders, it seems to be more crowded even in the off season.

But DL is, after all, the park that Walt built and, as I said, we do love it.  Our next trip, however, will have to wait until the kiddies are bunches older.

And you're thinking of going for Thanksgiving?  With the 50th going on?  You're right...you ARE nuts! :)
