Title: Dizzy Reed Show
Post by: tomass74 on September 11, 2005, 08:27:52 PM
Some radio station 100.3 WHEB was promoting the Dizzy show in NH.. They had no idea who the fuck he was...  They kept calling him an amazing guitarist and a founding member and song writer for Gn'R........

Thats funny! This just proves that most people dont even know anything about GNR anymore. Thanks Axl for the great post UYI contributions to the GNR legacy. A special thanks for keeping everyone informed about the band so much that radio stations are now GNR experts.

Yeah, there was a time when being a GNR member was a major deal alright. These days, the poor mugs are playing half full high school basketball games or something

Poor old Dizzy

Youve gotta feel for the guy, I wonder why he didnt jump ship like the rest of them years ago? Loyalty to the fact that Axl hauled his ass into the band in line with his grandiose vision? A fat pay cheque? An unerring belief that CD will "change the face of the music world"  :hihi:

Dizzy is definitely one of the people to blame for the unrealistic expectations for CD. For a couple years, he just wouldn't stop talking about how great it is. Same thing with Tommy. Its like they were in a love triangle with CD. When the album comes out, someone should ask it who was the better lover, Tommy or Dizzy? Going by past comments, I think Dizzy fucked it the most. :D :o

Um, just cuz one radio station dude doesn't know shit, it doesn't mean the entire world are morons about GNR.

And when CD comes out, I think tommy and Dizzy will be seen wearing t-shirts that read " I told you so JamesLofton"

They only made one mistake about the guy and that was to call him a founding member. To someone who probably isnt a GNR fan its understandable they would make that mistake.

For the record in Dizzys solo shows he is the guitarist, and he is also a songwriter for GNR. Fair enough Silkworms is absolute shite but technically they were correct  :P

Dude, that Axl Rose book called John Bonham a guitarist. ?People make huge mistakes sometimes
and a bunch of morons that can't do a bit of research into a band their station is promoting is
hardly a good reason to blame Axl and whine about it. ?And maybe the album really is that great!?

GOSH DARN ! why didn't I think of that one, IZZY. I rember back in the day I'd be at a party and some fool would be all fucked up and go DUDE ! LISTEN TO DIZZY'S GUITAR SOLO :o  But then I'd have to school the fucker on who was who or just knock his ass out. Ya I really feel sorry for the members that are stuck neutral, poor Dizzy.

Its called making a parallel, look up that word you might learn something. Why is it  bad when Tommy or Dizzy talk about how great this album is going to be, yet when someone else in another band does it its fine?

Maybe because he believes in the direction of the band? Dizzy was always near guns n roses even back in the day, he was just not made a member until the UYI albums.  Its not always about the money.

Well , to be fair to Duff , he was afterall promoting an album that was released.

And btw , personally I believe Tommy and Dizzy when they say the album is gunna be great. When and if it ever drops it should be pretty awesome methinks.

People always confuse Dizzy with Izzy Stradlin. I seen people confuse them many times on other band message boards saying Dizzy is a great songwriter and back together with Axl.

Izzy should probably sue Dizzy to change his name . thats how big the misconception is out there.

Sue!?!?!  Ummm, wow.  Do you not think that is a little drastic?  Believe me I don't think either Izzy or Dizzy is losing much sleep by being mixed up.  I think Steven Tyler should sue Steve Perry because people mix the Stevens up!!!

They are in different bands though, and Dizzy makes a name for himself because some out there believe he is the great GNR songwriter. thats all. If i were Izzy i would have been uncomfortable with the "dizzy" stage name from the very beginning but thats just me.

I think Iggy pop should sue Izzy becaue they sound the same and people might get them mixed up.

I don't feel sorry for Dizzy at all. The guy has had a pretty awesome ride the last 14 years or so. He's a good keyboardist and seems pretty cool, but.... talk about money for nothing and the chicks for free.

I don't blame him for being loyal to Axl. I would be too! I'm just suprised Clarke and Sorum didn't stay on the gravy train as well... :hihi:

Iggy Stradlin, Dizzy Reed or Iggy Pop and Izzy stradlin, the difference in both is one letter G or Z and D and no D. So what is your point again? I was just showing how dumb  the  idea was that Izzy should sue Dizzy for his name.

WHEB has been contacted..and it was the webmaster who made the error...which then got to promotions...either way, it's low dough and the band is playing alot of Appetite GNR..

they played for 3 hours@ the hard rock cafe and had 25 Hawaiian Tropic girls on stage for about 5 songs...

the band is a party band..and it's fun...if you don't like fun, or hot chicks, or Jaeger..stay home...

I think if his stage name were "Mark Reed" he would not be doing this. Not covering Appetite songs anyways. A record loyal "Dizzy" had no part of. Sacriligous man. Cant Hookers n Blow come up with a few of their own songs? Holy Cow.

Guns n roses the orginal played KODH, Mama kin, LALD etc etc all over songs which were not on the same label I dont think. so who cares. Hookers and blows are a cover band who plays songs just for fun. There is nothing wrong with it.

It might be even funner if Dizzy played a few of his own songs. But no that never happens. Silkworms for instance, could safely be added to his playlist because it isnt supposed to be on the album.

you have no clue.. They only opened for ac/dc on tour... Didn't know brian from ac/dc was singing to HS kids.. COmparing the people slash can get in the seats compared to dizzy is a little silly...

Dizzy can be in any band no one would know the difference... Slash in another band there is some buzz... One is a great guitar player of his generation who has been asked to work with countless artists from mj to lemmy to tommy lee.. Dizzy is just some dude from the later part of gnr who shares piano with axl..
