They're sellouts. They have gradually dumbed down their sound for the masses. Lunar Strain and Jester Race are very good albums. Whoracle and Colony are decent. Reroute to Remain is bad, and Soundtrack To Your Escape is terrible. Their entire career has been a slow crawl downhill. Dark Tranquility and At The Gates are much better Gothenburg bands anyway. Even In Flames' old albums are a bit overrated.

This dude I used to work with was a huge fan of them. He lent me one of their CDs, don't recall which one, it wasn't bad, but I didn't become a fan or anything. I didn't mind it.

Basically, I've heard a few songs from these guys and I've really enjoyed the ones with non-screaming vocals, and the ones with screaming, not so much. Touch of Red is a brilliant track!

I need to know if they have any albums that are scream-free? I want to buy a CD or two but I'm not interested in hearing those kind of vocals.

Any help appreciated!  : ok:

I dont consider  msyself a "knowledgable" fan of In flames, but i can tell you that I personally like thier older music much better.  If you are looking to buy an album i think that "Colony" is a good place to start, and then work backwards if you like the older stuff, and forwards if you like the newer stuff.

all i can say about 'em is that they won a grammy in sweden for best hard rock this night for their last record so it should be pretty fine, don't know about if they scream much on it, but the songs "come clarity" and "take this life" are great
