A song about drug addiction being used during a baseball game and people say that americans have no appreciation of irony. :D

actually Gregg Zaun (Jays catcher) uses the intro to "You Could Be Mine" when he comes up to bat, though the team does play the intro to Brownstone (before Axl comes in) from time to time.

It is rather ironic, since the Blue Jays play in Toronto, Canada!

since the intro to jungle is SO over-used (althogh we love it) in sports, id have to rate these as my probables if i ever had a baseball intro:

1. "where do we go now" quiet part right after slash solo
2. Axl part right after slash solo in nightrain (right before the outro officially begins)
3. "I just gotta walk around, with my head on down" that part from human being
4. "Love's so strange" from Locomotive
5. Intro to Rocketqueen

trying to be original. this is still sad though, no news in gnr world, so we're talking about this.

Yeah, you're right. Pretty fucking sad. But at least you're trying to come up with something to talk about. But like several people have said, the GNR well has run dry. Bone dry.

Go Jays....  Wohoo Greg Zaun!  And I remember reading an article on tsn.ca about how a lot of Jays are GNR fans when Slash played the Canadian/American anthems at Toronto's home opener.

I read in Mens Fitness that Eric Gagne, the LA Dodgers relief pitcher who save 80+ games in a row at one point in his career, always comes into the game with WTTJ.
He was also from Montreal and was in the crowd in 1992 when Axl walked out on the performance with Metallica sparking a riot..

It turned out that the whole Montreal riot wasn't Axl's fault. There haven't been concerts in the flawed Olympic Stadium since 1996, because the accoustics in the building are horrible, and Axl himself had complained during the show how he couldn't hear himself while singing.

There's also no more baseball in Olympic Stadium either. But seeing that there's plenty of GNR at baseball games is a great thing.

MNR

If the acoustics were so bad, why didnt metallica walk off the stage after the first song? Let me guess: You think Axl was a no show in Philly because of bad weather?
