Title: Tips On Being a Moderator Post by: D on August 17, 2005, 10:24:39 PM Since I think you all here are the best moderators I've ever come across, I need some tips.
I have been elected a moderator over at www.2ksports.com a month ago I got banned for 2 weeks and today Im a mod, go figure anyhow I need some tips on merging threads,moving topics when to know when to lock a thread and all that and God forbid I have to ban someone and If I do, I am giving them a little Axl from Rock in Rio 3 before I do it. being a mod is great, I can feel my head swelling with power :hihi: :hihi: Gotta go ban some folks, but any pointers will be appreciated. Exactly. It's really not that complicated. As far as banning people, it depends how the forum is set up, but if you're only a mod there's a good chance you won't be able to ban anyone. There is a guy with over 6,000 posts who is number 1 in posts on that board who I absolutely despise wouldve been worth losing my mod job over just to ban him and take away all his posts :hihi: I've had a great first day Ive moved,locked,merged,deleted I dont know how many threads I never knew it was this tough being a mod. No matter what you do there will always be users who think what you've done is wrong and will complain and call you a nazi or a commie - or both. You're never going to keep them all happy so just do what needs to be done. You'll get the hang of it.
