Go the Jets...the Screaming Jets that is!!!? ? hope theyre 'round for a long time to come!! Yeah, it's a good album, its different to the Jets, but there's some really soulful singing on most of the songs. I love Meet Me Half Way, probably the best song on there. As for the Jets, they're about to release their first Live DVD/CD (it's out next week) and they're currently recording their 7th album which they're claiming to be their best yet. You can see photos of them in the studio on the their website www.screamingjets.com.au Title: Re: The Screaming Jets Live - new tour dates! Post by: metallex78 on April 09, 2006, 09:17:11 PM Rock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels... its the Screaming Jets!
The Screaming Jets are synonymous with Australian Rock. They have been producing music and touring for the best part of 2 decades, but the fire still burns in them to succeed. Putting the finishing touches to their latest album has inspired the band to push themselves harder than ever before on a creative level. The ?Rock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Tour? will take them through April/May, and the band promises a show, the likes of which Jets fans have never seen. ?In the past, for whatever reason we have relied too heavily on our back catalogue, this tour is going to see a 2 part approach to the shows; 1st we will play all the songs from our up coming album, and then we will rock out with the songs people know and love, with a couple of surprises thrown in? says Dave Gleeson of the 2 hours plus show. Like any other great band The Jets have made mistakes, but each tour is a new beginning, and The Jets plan to make an impact on not only their loyal fans but also on new fans with their distinct brand of rock. ?Yeah, I?ve said and done the wrong thing in my time, but nothing on the scale of the government AWB scandal or the war in Iraq, and the Australian public seems to be very forgiving about that? opines Gleeson, who if a recent report in The Australian newspaper are true, played golf with Foreign Minister Alexander Downer recently. The Jets have weathered a lot of storms, and they are not about to go away. The band has a challenge to all the critics out there - suck it and see. Come and see the Jets and if we don?t blow you away, we have failed in our mission. At this stage of our careers, OK is not an option for this band. It?s either awesome, or it?s a waste of everybody?s time. Come and see rock history in the making: Rock, Stock & 2 smoking barrels tour dates are: Fri March 31st: Batman Faulkner Inn Launceston Sat April 1st: Batman Faulkner Inn Launceston Thu April 6th: Chelsea Heights Hotel Melbourne Fri April 7th: Mercury Lounge Casino Melbourne Sat April 8th: Ferntree Gully Hotel Melbourne Thu April 13th: Rooty Hill RSL Sydney Fri April 14th: Hornsby RSL Sydney Sat April 15th: Toronto Workers Club Sun April 16th: Doyalson RSL Thu April 20th: Mean Fiddler Rouse Hill Fri April 21st: Mittagong RSL Sat April 22nd: Shell Harbour Workers Club Thu April 27th: Byron Bay Great Northern Hotel Fri April 28th: Yamba Golf Club Sat April 29th: Coolangatta Hotel Title: Re: The Screaming Jets Live Post by: Dead N' Bloated on April 12, 2006, 02:10:15 AM That sux. I'm going to two shows on this tour, and from what I've heard of their forthcoming new album, it's easily their strongest material yet - kickass Aussie rock n' roll at it's finest! Can't wait to get their new album! : ok: Title: Re: The Screaming Jets Live Post by: Dead N' Bloated on April 12, 2006, 05:32:52 AM The jets were sposda play with GN'R at eastern creek in 93 but the jets old booking agent fucked em on it. So they sacked him. Grant teachs at Newcastle tafe and all he talks about is the old days and not much more.

I went to the gig last night and it was f**king awesome, new album sounds killer and the greatest hits set was great too - nearly 2 and half hours of Screaming Jets! Title: Re: The Screaming Jets Live Post by: Dead N' Bloated on April 14, 2006, 08:40:44 PM What happened with Gleeson on the footy show? When I saw em the sound was up to shit. But the Hourden sux. The sound was great at Rooty Hill RSL, but then it's expected when it's the Jet's own gig, whereas the Hordern was the VR support slot. I've still got the new songs going over in my head, can't wait to get the new album! : ok: |
