Legendary Hard Rock Guitarist Figure Set for Release in July 2005

    TEMPE, Ariz., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- McFarlane Toys is pleased to
announce the latest figure to join our expanding collection of music figures.
Slash, the greatest guitarist to come out of the late 1980s, and a former
member of one of the top rock bands of all time, has become the latest
edition.

    With his trademark top hat and omnipresent cigarette, the guitarist born
Saul Hudson challenged and destroyed the stagnant musical scene of the late
'80s with his former band.  Slash still remains one of the premier hard-rock
guitarists of all time, touring currently with Velvet Revolver whose debut
album, Contraband, has reached platinum status.
    "It's extremely flattering and humbling to be immortalized in plastic,"
said Slash.

    The figure will feature Slash with his top hat and leather jacket while
playing guitar.  It will be available at mass retailers in July and will sell
for $10 - $12.

I love the Mcfarlane's. I got the Kiss set, had the metallica set, and love the detail they put into them. I always wanted a slash. I wanted to find a small top hat to put on my Kirk Hammet so it could sorta be slash. I've been waiting for this for awhile. I gonna have to get 2 since I will need to open one up. Got the perfect spot next to Jason Vorhees and Freddy Krueger.


Only thing that sucks its not gonna be out for a year.

This is awesome. I am a big fan of McFarlane action Figures I have about thirty of them. Can't wait for the slash one. They should do the whole original GNR lineup.

McFarlane Toys has officially unveiled the Slash action figure, which is scheduled to hit store shelves ? the toy aisle, not the music aisle ? in late September.

One of the best-known, most-talented and easily recognizable artists in music, Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) is a human action figure just waiting to happen. McFarlane Toys was happy to come to the rescue and put their sculptors to work re-creating Slash in 6-inch form.

Two separate versions of the Slash action figure will be released, similar to McFarlane Toys' initial Jimi Hendrix figure.

The regular clamshell Slash will feature the action figure complete with leather jacket and tophat, guitar, one amp, one speaker cabinet and a support base.
