Man I have no problem with Axl using Guns N' Roses. But, I think maybe Axl needs to head this himself and make the distinction because he is the man. And, he is the man with the burden. He is a pimp and one of the mostrecognizable figures in music even with this absence. If the album is a masterpiece, it will be credited to him regardless. Just think this distinction is both ego and respect...like with KuPrick. And isn't that Axl. He has to be respected, he commands it...even when he is being shot down. And his ego is legendary.

Those are marketing exec ideas. They include big names in the title to attract more people.

Guns N' Roses is presenting the album. I am simply stating what I think would be a cooler title for the project that GN'R made. The band might have all worked together on it. Directors don't make a movie alone. But the album good or not, rests on Axl.

Kinda reminds me of John Kaye`s Steppenwolf. Same cheese factor.

But is a title for a project like Stanley KuPrick's Full Metal Jacket, a cheese factor. That is a genius director who commanded respect. He also was a notorious perfectionist. I'm not saying Axl is like Stan the Man, but he is more akin to Stan then John Gay.

movie directors are different then bands.. It's james cameron's titanic or martin scorscese's goodfellas.. 

But in a way, isn't Axl the director? Whether the album is a success or faliure, it is all on Axl. He will take credit regardless. This is his baby. Hence the name.

yeah I understand what you mean I just view it differently, maybe nin's or qotsa because those bands are revolving doors.. I don't even have an opinion on cd anymore or this gnr... I was gone working since the end of june with very few visits here and I didn't think much of the album but when I did I knew it would still not be out... To me axl is like ozzy with his album instead of gnr..

I hear what you're saying, and think it's a really good idea.  But for a CD cover, you have Guns N Roses, then you have the Artwork, then you have Axl Roses' Chinese Democracy.  Thats alot to put on a cover.

Even though the success or failure does fall on Axl's shoulders, I think he'd prefer to portray the record as a group effort, which by most accounts it has been.

Man, sometime in the past, I was sitting there chilling. You know what I mean? The kind of night where you just sit there and say,"Yea, shit is cool." Don't remember what I was thinking about but then this other thought blazed by out of nowhere. I said shit, I got to write this down.

Kind of a trip if someone 6 years ago had this thought KillYourIdols. Its not really a deep thought, like the ones you get maybe once or twice a month if your lucky, and the shit just comes all together. But its mine. Here comes this album (supposedly) from GN'R named Chinese Democracy, like no one knows of all the drama, or at least some of it, that happened up to this point. Shit, even my mother-in-law has an opinion on Axl post TSI. Most everyone knows at least something, even if there facts are half right at best.

So why not just address that and give a fuck you in one swoop? He is pretentious, he is ego embodied but he is, an artist, a master vocalist (well you know, mostly), and song writer. If the album is going to be awesome. It would play up on peoples feelings about him. People are going to hear it one way or another, so they will have one of two reactions.

1) Motherfucker...this shit is good

No Fukin way man... Guns and Roses are still legends to me, no matter how much thier music or style has changed, you no why..... cos i am a true fucking fan, yeah we been waiting for something exiting to happen for a while but that is no reason to doubt the band that they are... Guns N Roses have gone through allot of down times just like other bands, every band has problems.... and WHAT you expect them to stay looking the same forever.. haha.... wat a joke.
