Title: slash tone pedal
Post by: MR W,AXL ROSE on August 08, 2005, 04:53:28 AM
ive been playing for a couple of years now and i recently bought a epiphone les paul custom and a korg ax10g multi effects pedal.i dont really learn songs as such but what i prefer to do is to try and play slash solos.now theres quite a few sound effects on the korg ax10g but nothing as nice sounding as slashs tone.i have a kustom 40w amp.is there a pedal out there that will give me the slash tone with the guitar and amp that i have.or do i need a marshall with a similar sound to slash.

Unlikely that u'll get Slash tone with a pedal, but u can get something vaguely similar by adjusting the settings. Search the net...

u could check out the Marshall "Guv'nor" overdrive pedal. it has a pretty satisfying -close to valve- tone, although is surely doesn't beat a marshall like -lets say- a JCM 800 for example.

youll never acomplish his tone with that small of an amp. but you might want to check out either the MXR ZW-44 overdrive, or the Toadworks Mr ED pedals.

There are plenty of pedals that deliver very Marshall-like tones, but they're meant to be used in front of a clean tube amp.
