Post by: W 23 AXL II on August 04, 2005, 11:19:30 AM
DO you think, say its like 2007 and no chinese democracy, that the record label WOULD or COULD release another Live Era CD, 2001-2002?

Its an interesting thought

If there is no CD by 2007 the new GNR will be irrelvent.

please don't ever call them Nu. That implies that they have something to do with nu metal.

I doubt the record label would release a second live era. The first didn't sell fantastically well.

Good question. ?I would think perhaps a live DVD like new years Las Vegas or something. ?It was a professionally shot concert and all the die-hards would buy it. ?I know I would.

but i think the record label will want some money back. The question is......CAN axl release the old songs with new players? i guess so, look at the Big Daddy SCOM.

it could look something like this:

1) Welcome to the Jungle - NYC 2002
2) Mr. Brownstone - Vegas 2001
3) Chinese Democracy - Boston 2002
4) The Blues - NYC 2002
5) Rocketqueen - Leeds
6) Madagascar - NYC 2002
7) SCOM - Hartford 2002
8) Rhiad - RIR 2001
9) OMG - RIR 2001
10) Silk Worms - Vegas 2001
11) November Rain - Boston 2002
12) Paradise City - NYC 2002

because it was released at the wrong time. If they had released it after the greatest hits there sales would have been much higher since loads of people are into them now. Well ive noticed all my mates liked them as soon as greatest hits were out everyone knows who they are and stuff.

I don't think the timing was the main factor. People are willing to pay for a single CD greatest hits of gn'r. Few non-fans are going to pay quite alot of money for a double album that got (and rightly so) poor reviews.

I would re-word that to say "Untill there is a CD the new GNR IS irrelevant"

Actually, Spuddy1 is right. By 2007, shitloads of people will have already walked away from this wait, and very minor interest will make Axl irrelevant. As far as a new live album, that would be the dumbest thing GNR has done yet. Who does a live album before releasing their first studio album? If Axl wants to kill his career even faster than 2007, he'll release a live album in November instead of CD.

If Axl still hasn't released CD by 07', I think it would be safe to say that there no longer will be a GnR. By then i think the record company will right off there loss' and more than likely they will be dropped. Then on the otherhand they may release something but i highly doubt it would be anything from the new band, maybe a b sides record or something from the original band (Gilby, Matt) era also.

Even though most people are under the impression the record company is losing money with Chinese Democracy/Guns N' Roses what they made (and still do) with this band is more than enough to pay for it.

I don't think we'll see more GnR related releases until Chinese comes out.

I have to agree too by 2007 forget it.  I don't think the forums could deal with not just one more year but 2 more years.  Although, we will still be here bitching about it though :hihi:  I also agree, the die hard fans don't want to hear anymore live stuff.  We have heard enough live NuGNR to last us a lifetime.

You know... back in 2001 people were saying "If theres no new release by the end of 2002 no one will care."

Well, here 2005 is, almost gone, and still no new release. But we're all still here...

I think a live CD of the new band would be a bad idea though.
For one thing, Rock In Rio is almost painful to listen to. It's quite bad now that I look back on it...
My opinion anyway.

I just want a new studio CD.
So all this stupid speculation can be put to rest for a while.
