The first time I saw the Making Of Estranged I was very touched by it and cried.  The first time I ever saw the vid, I cried cause I felt bad for him and you can feel his pain sorta though the song.

I'm often moved by GN'R songs, but never to cry.  Although I will admit, I've pictured what it would be like to see the old band reunited live.  And I think if I did see that it would be so overwhelming I might cry of happiness.

Hell Yeah Guns have always been a part of my life and that includes the emotional highs and lows.
Knockin on Heavens Door from Pittsburgh 2002- Was playing on my way to the hospital to say goodbye to my grandpa.
Breakdown and Estranged- They were both felt hard when I went though a rough breakup with a past G\F.
Im not afraid to admit I'm a man and I cry I will probably bawl like a baby if the Cleveland Indians ever win a World Series, or the day I finally have Chinese Democracy in my hands.

the only one that has got me close is Estranged and the line in SCOM, " ...as a child Id hide and pray for the thunder and the rain to quietly pass me by"
I dunno, when thinking of Axls childhood and being able to translate it to such a heartfel song makes me kind of sad ...  :'(

True...
Last time I cried was when I was 13 at secondary school when someone gave me a punch. ?:'(
After, I had a tear with Titanic ?;D ?"Jack there's a boat, Jack!"
I don't believe that crying helps on something. What will you win by doing that? You can see later that the worries pass and the only thing that remains is the sadness.

About Gn'R I've never cried by far but I had really sad moments with Estranged and November Rain (piano version), especially the extro part.

I rememeber the first time I really listened to the "I know its hard to keep an open heart.. when even friends seem out to harm you..." line in November Rain my eyes watered cuz I thought it was a beautiful truth.. but I dont think Ive ever cried to GN'R

Title: Re: Has Guns music made you cry?

definitely. again with the beautiful thing-
mainly the verse in estranged, when  i'm just lying in my room, unable to sleep:
"i feel the storm is getting closer...
and the waves they get so high...."
etc.
that part..
every time i hear it i unconsciously close my eyes
it's very beautiful
and listening to the blues live in toronto 2002 (bootleg) the whole 'ooh ohoh oh ohh' thing, that kind of sounds like, when he's singing it, he's wailing, like he's in pain almost..  i just sort of space out.. and want to cry. the song is very beautiful in itself.
those are my two favorite gn'r songs right there.

I'm not really the emotional type, but I have cried to Estranged several times. When I seen GNR in concert back in July 1991, and heard November Rain for the first time, it brought tears to my eyes.

To be honest, I've never actually cried. There were times where I almost did when I watched the Making The Videos of Estranged because when Axl talks about Steph and Dylan, u can see the pain in his eyes. It just made me sad. And then the only other time I almost cried was listening to The Blues once. I was just listening to the lyrics and the way Axl sang them and I could hear the emotion he put into it, and it just got to me.

For fuck's sake! Everyone in the world has cried when something makes them! If something has just happened to you and you relate to a song or you have an amazingly vivid imagination and you cry that DOES NOT MAKE YOU A PUSSY!!!
How many times must soldiers have cried during songs because that song makes them think about something awful on the battlefield!? HUH!? And are you calling those soldiers pussies? Would you dare? Would you go up to one and say "If you cry over a song, you're a pussy!"? Ha! Most likely you'd either get a punch in the face or a long rant at you.
You people who think that crying is for pussies SHUT THE FUCK UP!! You are not worthy to listen to any song let alone a Guns N' Roses song. If you think crying is for pussies, then go live in caves and fuck pigs for all I care! You are insensitive assholish motherfuckers who all deserve to watch the people around you who you love die horribly and then die horribly yourself and end up in a completely different place so you NEVER see them again! You deserve to get the worst kind of cancer you can get you MOTHER FUCKERS!

NLet me get this right.  Name calling and gay bashing is bad, but wishing death and torment upon others' families is somehow not as bad?

Why did you choose my post to critique and not the post by the sensitive crying moron who said you "all deserve to watch the people around you who you love die horribly and then die horribly yourself and end up in a completely different place so you NEVER see them again"?  Why would you get on me for calling someone a homo and then not say a word to this moron?  Please explain.

Because it's unfortunately the kind of attack we see regularly on this board, and it starts to irritate you after a while. Man, if I stopped and criticized every post I don't like, I would do it in every thread.
I can't say I agree with what Elrothiel said, but then your reply was not exactly the most sensible one either. You could have said she was immature or something, but no, of course you had to go call her a homo  ::)

People are leaving these forums at an alarming rate. Its not just the wait for CD thats making them do it. Its people like you that constantly insult people so you can feel better about yourself. Listen.? It takes a big man to cry.? It takes an even bigger man to laugh at that man.? And I'm laughing at all you crying pussies right now.? ?;D

This is what I originally posted.  It was obviously intended to be a joke.  See the smiley face at the end of my post?  It was actually taken from one of those Jack Handey lines on Saturday Night Live.  It was meant to be humourous.  I then get bombarded by this silly reject, Elr?thiel, who actually wishes for my family and I to die horrible deaths because of a joke.  After that, I get called out by the admin for my behavior.  Listen, this board is decent some of the time.  However, the mods and admins here are notoriously poor at doing their jobs.

And you want to know what is killing this board James?  Its not posters who hate on others, or bad admins.  Its the state of GNR and the fact that incredibly stupid topics like "Has a GNR song every made you cry" are becoming more and more prominent.  I used to post a lot here (as TyRod Tulip), but I had stopped like a year ago when it finally dawned on me that this ship has sailed.  The chances of CD seeing the light of day any time soon is almost non-existant.  People like Merck and Mysteron keep hinting that it is right around the corner, but people have been hinting at that type of thing for years now.  I guess the latest date we hear is November.  There is no chance in hell people.  If we haven't heard anything by now, then Nov ain't happening.

Charity, I agree with what you're saying. If we get to september with no announcement, 2005 isn't the year. I think its never coming out if he cant get his shit together by year's end. Alot of people are going to give up and leave these forums. But your a little hard on the mods. Sure, some of them make some smart ass remarks sometimes, but they do a decent job. I think they should be even stricter than they are. The insults are getting out of hand, and they need to figure out a way to stop it. I cant imagine how insane this place would be if there were no moderators. It would be a freak show.

If the morons are allowed to keep running rampant, HTGTH will die a horrible death.
Sod off, butt head. If u want a clue, check Charity's thread in the Jungle or the posts above. It's not my fault people turn a thread into a name slinging match. If ur opinions differ, u can go screw yourself.

Genesis, your post doesn't merit a response because of how lame it is.  My thread in The Jungle is about a cuurent news topic.  What does that have to do with GNR?

james, the reason for the name calling and the tension is, as I stated, the state of GNR.  If/when CD hits the stores, I bet you will be able to actually see the tension be released from this place.  Right now people are starting to get really pissed about this situation.  I feel like we have all be strung along by these guys in some type of cosmic prank.

If you think what Elrothiel said is anything more than a spur of a moment thing, and that she really meant it, you need to grow up.

Also, I'm not an admin. Otherwise I would have banned you a long time ago. Btw, didn't Jarmo ban your racist ass when you went under the name Tyrod Tulip? I wonder what you're still doing here.

So it is ok to wish death and horrible things upon my two children because it "was just a spur of the moment thing"?  But my crack at people that cry is beyond horrible?  You cannot be a serious mod here?  No way anyone would trust your judgement.  Seriously?

Now, back on topic please.

Pandora, no it's not good enough.  Tell me how you know she didn't mean it.  I certainly can't tell by her use of the words "mother fucker" that she is kidding.  She didn't give one hint that she was just "playing around".  I at least used a smiley face to show I was kidding.

Genesis, quote me where I am being racist.  If you are gonna make an accusation as serious as that then have the decency to show me, and everyone else here, exactly where I have said a racist thing in this thread or in my topic in The Jungle.  I love how perfect you all are.   ::)

I don't have the time to pull fucking quotes from ur posts. If u think that a person who looks middle-eastern is automatically a terrorist, then u're a fucking racist. Oh, wait a minute! You don't know what 'racism' means. Here:

Racism has historically been defined as the belief that race is the primary determinant of human capacities, that a certain race is inherently superior or inferior to others, and/or that individuals should be treated differently according to their racial designation. Sometimes racism means beliefs, practices, and institutions that discriminate against people based on their perceived or ascribed race.

Title: Re: Has Guns music made you cry?
Post by: Charity Case on August 08, 2005, 12:55:07 PM
I know the definition of racism.  What I don't know if how what I have posted falls into that category.  I have never ever even thought or said that all middle eastern men are terrorists.  What kind of foolishness is that?  Try to read people's posts man.  Agreeing with profiling is not the same as being racist.

Not a problem :

"Those 3,000 people killed on 9/11/01 were killed for absolutely no reason.  They were butchered by uneducated (and my guess quite smelly) towel heads who are so weak of mind that they put their god before humanity. "

That's one out of many racist comments you made under the name Tyrod Tulip, and that led you to being banned. And since racist pigs remain racist pigs, I predict you're going to get banned again in the near future.

I wasn't gonna post this but, i couldn't help myself.

What about this thread.

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/board/index.php?topic=21972.0

Not everyone from the Mid-East is against the US. It just so happens though that the western civilization's way of life is totally against their point of view, and if they attack the US then they get massive media attention. that's why they do it.

And they are called extremists for a reason you know. Profiling IS racism.

to get back on topic..... no Guns music has not made me cry.? Sweet Child is my favorite tune though and now it has a special place in my heart because i play it on guitar and sing for my little girl. (she's 10 months old)

OK, time for me to apologize.

I'm sorry that I said what I said at the end of my last post on this thread... it was way too harsh. I guess I just got into such a bad mood and so carried away that I said unforgivable things.

Charity Case, I'm sorry. I don't wish death on your family and I never did. I was just trying to make you feel sorry for what you said about people who cry over songs so I said the most awful thing I could possible say.

I don't think I realized that what you said was a joke, and I really regret that.

I would have done this a lot sooner had I been able to use the internet, but I recently moved house, and internet has not been available until now.

Anyway, I completely understand if you don't accept this apology, but it would be good to know if I'm forgiven.

Sorry!

If anything... it stopped me crying. Sure maybe I've cried sometimes while listening to Guns N' Roses but I can't blame Axl for that. It seems their music has always fit right in my life where I was at the time I first heard it. Man I remeber back in the day...first hearing "Jungle", "My Michelle" and "Rocket Queen" I really recognozid myself in the lyrics...what you go through with this kind of girls/relationships in your life. And it all makes sense following the saga via Estanged, The Blues, Madagasqar and now I.R.S. It's that shit you got to face and try to handle and you don't and you cry but not because GNR did it to you because your'e fucking devasteded and Axl make you feel not so alone because you know there's someone out there that are just carrying the same fucking frustration and feeling of total abondemnent and insecurities. That's so fucking bold of him, beeing an artist like that, bleeding for the world

My eyes welled up during parts of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" (RIR III version), because I was very close to death by cancer when that concert took place and it just hit me at the right place. Other than that, the ONLY song that's every actually brought me to tears was "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" by U2...

What really made me cry about Guns n Roses, is the fact, that Izzy stradlin went to Axl's house in 2000, and he didnt mind to see him,  that my friends, would have been, an excellent aproachment...

and It also breaks my heart, to know that the entity, Axl, slash, (the yin and the yang for me) is no longer part of a single project....

The first time I saw the Making Of Estranged I was very touched by it and cried.? The first time I ever saw the vid, I cried cause I felt bad for him and you can feel his pain sorta though the song.

Yeah there's something about that song, eh...I mean it's so touching...I don't know if it's the lyrics itself (young at heart, but I'm only 28, much to young to let love break my heart...) or his voice, or the music itself.  Axl is a phenomenol lyricist...and the music really complements that.  It really hits you.  Oh, and I think Coma is another one of those tear-jerkers if you're in the mood.

Yeah, wathcing old videos and concert footage gets tough sometimes.  You see all of them, and they seem like such a close knit group of guys.  Seeing that stuff half pisses me off and half bums me out.  It pisses me off cause they were the greatest band of all time and they pissed it away.  It bums me out cause I never had a chance to be a fan of the old band.  I was too young.

Hell yeah. The first time i heard Patience i broke down and cried. The same was with Estranged, November Rain and 14 Years.

Sometimes when i think of GNR (original line up), i do burst into tears thinking about how things would be like if they were still together today. And it really saddened me to see their friendships destroyed. But i know there's nothing i can do about, so i try not to think too much about that. But it does get me down at times.
