Shirts

OK, as stated above, the shirts will be offered in several versions :

- colour : black or white (print will be red in both cases)
- cut : regular or ladies cut (V neck only for the ladies).
- size : XS to XL for ladies shirts ; S to XXL for the regular cut.

T-shirts of the Fruit of the loom brand are used for regular shirts. They're 160g cotton and as you may know they're very good quality (often used for concert t-shirts).

T-shirts for the ladies cut are no particular brand, but they're 220g cotton, therefore the material is very thick. I personnally have two of that kind and can attest of their quality.
They are relatively tight but can stretch quite a lot. However, they are not very long. If you are very tall or fear that they might be too tight at chest level or at the armpits, it might be a better idea to order a regular cut. It's up to you to decide.

Payment

Payments will be made through Paypal only.  No money orders, no cash, no cheques. Payments should be sent in euros only to htgthshirts@free.fr 

Total price (including shipping) will be the following :

- if you live in a European country that belongs to the European Union, or in Switzerland : 14 euros for one shirt, 24 euros for two shirts.
- if you live in a European country that doesn't belong to the EU, or in Africa : 14.40 euros for one shirt, 24.40 for two shirts.
- if you live in North or South America, Asia, or Australia / New Zealand : 15.80 euros for one shirt, 26.20 euros for two shirts.


How to send a payment in Euros:
To send a payment in Euros, just go to the Send Money tab. Fill out the payment details and select Euros from the Currencies drop-down menu.


If you want to buy more than two shirts, PM me with your details and I'll give you the right price.

You can send a message along with the Paypal payment (there's a special box for that). In the body of that message, don't forget to mention :
- your full name and postal address
- your ID on this board (optional)
- the colour of your choice
- the cut of your choice
- the size of your choice

All faulty or incomplete orders will be returned to sender for correction.

T-shirts will be dispatched in the order of payment reception.

The shirts won't be printed as the orders come in. They'll be printed in one batch....

Then when the shirts are done, they'll be mailed out in the order they were ordered.

Yes, please don't ask me when you can expect to get your shirt. I don't have a single clue about that. There are too many factors in the equation.

It seems there is a problem with Americans paying in euros. I can't quite figure out why, but anyway. Here's what the Paypal page looks like when you click on the "send payment" tab (mine is in French but other than that it's the same thing).

As you can see, just below the box where you enter the amount to be sent, there's a currency drop-down menu. Just select Euros like on the picture.

The last box at the bottom is the one where you can enter all your ordering info.

So you see, it's really not more complicated than paying in dollars. No conversion required from you.

Just a clarification. Maybe people outside of Europe aren't familiar with the currency (Euro) and that makes them nervous.

But, when you send a payment in Euros, you don't have to have Euros in your account. Paypal does the conversion and bills your credit card for the amount in US Dollars (or your local currency).



Let me ask those of you who wanted a shirt but haven't ordered yet, how come? If you don't feel like posting, you can always PM me.

If you bought t-shirts at concerts, there's a good chance you have some of the Fruit of the Loom brand. Those are the ones we'll be using.

Personnally, I find them rather large, but it's only my opinion.

In my experience too, concert t-shirts tend to be a little larger than the same size in a regular t-shirt.

No deadline for now. I don't think we can afford to give up on 100 because the price we charged everyone was based on the quote we got for that number. If we're really too far from 100, we'll have to give up altogether I guess. But as I said, right now there's no deadline.

Do people even want t-shirts or was it just a joke for the ones who voted "yes" in the polls?

Nobody has PMed me with any kind of reasons for not ordering a shirt, so I guess the problem isn't the foreign currency. A few have mentioned getting paychecks and waiting for that which is understandable.

That still doesn't make the total number of sold shirts 100.

I don't know what people are waiting for (if it's not a paycheck). When you just wait instead of actually tell us you're interested in buying one, you're making me wonder if this was a big mistake.

If this is how it's gonna be, I'm not gonna do this again.

What makes me wonder is the very low number of orders we've gotten from the States. And when I say low, I mean exactly 1. I would say Americans probably represent 70 to 80% of visitors of this board, so I guess a lot of them voted "yes" in the poll. Where are they now?

We've gotten orders from England, Australia or Asia, and Euro is not their currency either. If those people are able to pay in euros, I suppose Americans can handle it as well.
I don't know, I sense some kind of lack of trust here. If there is a problem of any kind, please do tell us (by PM if needed)
And if you can afford to pay right now, please do so, otherwise we could be tempted to scrap the whole thing very soon.

Finally I was able to place down an order, or my friend was, sorry for it taking so long.

Sorry Jarmo that people haven't placed down their orders, I myself don't have a Visa or anything similar so it took some time to persuede my friend to do the order for me.

As for not giving you an PM, well I can't really make an excuse but I've just been too busy, I'm in the middle of post-production of my first short film and I still got some work to do on our previous production. Within the past two months my friend and I've been in contact with the ministry of employment, the city counsil and lot's of other places as we've been trying to get to an apprenticeship training and two weeks ago we found out that the city has fucked up the financing. Also my mind was fucked up and my heart was kind of crushed by this one women so the last month or so has been a bit harder to get trough.

There's more but these are the main reasons why I've been losing weight and haven't been sleeping well.

If I werent able to use my GF's paypal account and card, I wouldnt have been able to order a shirt either cause I dont have a checking account,credit card or any other way of getting one.

So that may have a bit to do with it, cause there is no way I wont order one as much as i love the site,but like i said without My Gf's card, even I wouldnt have been able to follow through.

Well, if Paypal is the problem, I would expect a few people to tell us about it, and so far no one has (except you and that person in Hungary).
Besides, it was mentioned very early on that Paypal would be the only method of payment, so people who were opposed to Paypal shouldn't have voted in the poll I guess.  :-\

And, excuse me to ask you such a private question, but how is it possible that you're 26 and don't have a checking account? I mean, where do you put the money that you use in everyday life (not the savings)? I don't get it, maybe the expression "checking account" doesn't mean what I think it does in the US  ???

Jarmo, you asked, so let me enlighten you as to why these shirts of yours aren't flying off the shelves (or outta your bedroom)

First off, This crappy system you got about "everyone has to wait until we receive 100 orders until they get their shirt" is obviously turning alot of people off. People want to order with confidence and know that they're going to get their goods in a reasonable time.

Secondly, Only accepting PayPal is another turn off. You want people to order these shirts but you don't accept cheque,postal order, cash,credit cards.......only PayPal. Alot of people don't know what paypal is and can't be bothered finding out. Even I accept cheques,postal orders etc with my crappy little eBay account. It's as if you're trying to make it hard for people to order.

Thirdly, The idea of wearing a T-Shirt about an internet fan site isn't very appealing.

Oh and Pandora, don't presume so much. I speak very good French.

I dont see any other way Jarmo and co. could do it. Remember this is alot of work. I did something simular a couple of years ago, and that was only 20 shirts, but damn, when all 20 ecspects tings to be done on theyr way, there was soon alot of  :confused:  :confused: I think its great that Jarmo and Pandora do this! And they dont even earn anything worth mention on it!

As I said before, THIS IS NOT AN ONLINE STORE. We are not professional t-shirt sellers. Do you expect us to pay for 100 shirts out of our own pocket and then wait for people to hopefully order them, and if not remain stranded with them and be screwed with our own money? Dream on man, we're not the Hiltons in case you don't know.
The fact we were gonna use that method was mentioned from the get-go, so once again people shouldn't have voted if they were opposed to it.


Of course, we're deliberately sabotaging the whole thing  ::)  Listen, I do this out of my spare time and I find it amazing that some people still find a way to bitch about it.
Using Paypal makes my accounting and my life in general more simple. You've probably never cashed in a cheque or a money order from abroad, otherwise you would know what a drag it is. If we accepted them, we would basically have to double the price that we charge in order to cover :
- change fees
- fees that are applied just because it comes from a foreign bank, and you can bet your ass they would be hefty.
I don't think anyone would want to buy a shirt at 30 euros, do you?
Besides, why would I bother spending every friggin day of the week at my bank trying to cash in those things when you can't be bothered spending 5 minutes of your goddamn time following a very simple registering process? I'm not your gopher.

Bottom line is, I can understand Paypal is a problem if you're underage or if you live in a country where Paypal is not available, but otherwise I don't understand what the problem is. If you think the shirt is going to be handed over to you on a plate as if you were buying from Amazon, you're wrong. A little effort is required on your part, but remember we're making MUCH more effort than you on our side.

Paypal is the way to go. It just takes 5 minutes of your time and a checking account. I've lived in the States 4 years so it's not like you need to have a job to have a checking account. A driver's lisence, SSN and $25 deposit will do. Even illegal citizens can open a checking account, so c'mon people.

Money orders are a pain in the ass. Especially since we are talking about such a small amount. I've used Western Union before but that was because I had to send a large amount and my paypal account wasn't verified then. Bottom line, I had to pay an outrageous comission and I'm not doing it again. it'de be ridiculous to send a money order for $20 guys c'mon.

Other poster mentioned a cheque...well, a foreign cheque will take about 3 weeks at least to validate. Banks are a pain in the ass, and they are not? willing to take a risk even for $20...what if it bounces?? :nervous:

What's left then? posting a $20 bill inside en envelope? C'mon people, we are not in the stone age anymore.

Sorry about the rant guys, but it's not cool when 180 people signed up for the shirt thing knowing paypal was gonna be the only payment method allowed, and today there're only 40 (i'm assuming here) who made the purchase.

About 30 shirts, which isn't much at all. Problem is, if everyone waits for others to pay before making their decision, we're not gonna go forward.  :-\

Well, 30% of the goal in a week and a half is very good.  As you said (and that's bad) some people are waiting to see a good amount of shirts to make their order.  And I should say to them:  don't let this opportunity pass, maybe when you decide to order a shirt the time is over and no more shirts will come out again.

I was thinking about whether or not to order a shirt yesterday, and one thing I don't like about them is the "We know about Patience" saying. (I didn't vote in the polls or anything and never really had the desire to get one, but now that the ordering has started I decided maybe I would like one) Anyway, I know it's probably too late but last night I was thinking about it and I thought "We'll be here standin' until the bitter end" (In the tune of Rocket Queen) would be a cooler saying.

I meant, personally I thought it would be a better slogan. I mean only Guns fans would know HTGTH and only Guns fans would know lyrics to RQ.

i have founds on my paypal account, but when i try to send the money to htgthshirts@free.fr i get denied and in the error message it says that my credit card issuer doesn't agree or something, what the fuck is this? does anyone else have the same problems?

maybe you have some information entered incorrectly in your account or you are using an expired card?
That happened to me once on ebay when I forgot to update my account after I got my new card.

as far as i know it shouldn't. When you want to pay from already existing funds on your paypal account then you have to transfer the $ (or any other currency) to euro's before you can use that. if you don't transfer it then paypal is automatically using your creditcard for the payment.

Now to the problem. As i live in Slowenia and the Paypal thing is not working here as we are a fucked up country regarding the banks (they did not sign the papers for international buying) i am forced to buy via mail. As i have no problem sending the money it has always worked fine. But the problem now is that you don't accept the money mail thing.
I would like to buy 2 shirts; 1 large man and 1 small chick. And i would like to ask you if you could make a exception and sell me the shirts this way.
I'm just dying for a HTGTH shirt as i'm a big user of the site.

No offense to anyone here but I'm not thrilled with giving my real name and address out to someone on a website.

But that's not my only issue with PayPal.? The other is that even though you're using a credit card (there's no way in hell I'm giving out my checking account info), if you use your credit card through PayPal then the credit card company is no longer liable for any problems you may encounter, i.e., damages, non-receipt, returns, etc.?(again, I'm talking about using PayPal in general).

And for me to get a PayPal account just to buy these shirts isn't worth the bother even though I really really want the shirts. ?

I don't really see what that has to do with Paypal. You'll have to give out your name and your address anyway if you want to receive the shirt at home. Besides, people who make an order are free not to give their board ID, so that I don't know who is who if it has to be such a big secret.


I know that when you buy an ebay item with Paypal, you can file a complaint and be refunded in case you're not satisfied with the product, or if you don't obtain it. Might be the same for other products. I will check.

Always use my ma's card to make payments on the net, signed upto paypal and everything but unfortunately one time she got done over on the net somebody used her details so she well refuses to use her card now...are cheques really not acceptable...if it bounces u can ban me ;D

I finally ordered my shirts! I would've ordered them sooner but my bank screwed up my paypal confirmation. When I was? driving to my bank to find out what they did wrong, I got stuck in a hail storm. The roads started to flood, the radio stations went out, and street lights stopped working. But I made it to the bank. I must be crazy, but I really wanted those shirts.? ;)

Not to turn the thread into a Paypal discussion, but glad I ordered mine a while ago, because I entered my new Credit Card details in Paypal and they said there is something wrong with info they obtained from the bank about my card (brand new card, NOT.. I repeat.. NOT STOLEN!!) so I've had to fax them my photo ID and pass a verification test, and I still haven't heard back from them, I may not be able to withdraw money on have on my account  :rant:

Anyway I hope the orders are picking up.

It took PayPal 2 days to respond to my question, which is standard. But when I got a response, it didn't answer my question. So I had to call their customer service. I was on hold for 30 minutes. The agent I spoke to was very nice though, and it turned out that my bank made the error, not PayPal. If you call PayPal's customer service, you'll have to speak to a robot first, which is very awkward.  :hihi:

So...,... are we getting shirts soon? :hihi:

Considering the number of orders was lower than expected, we're going to use another printing company, but prices and characteristics of the shirts will remain the same.
The good news is that we can now offer regular t-shirts up to size XXL (Pilferk, this is for you !  ;D ). Those who ordered ladies shirts will also have to choose their size from XS to XL. If you have already made your purchase, you can PM me to tell me what you want. Otherwise I'll contact you.

Nope, no compromise on the payment method. Besides, the offer closes in two days, so I don't see how you could send me anything by that time.

My paypal account was f*cked, couldn't reset the password so had to ring the help line in the US. I have to say it was the most annoying customer experience I have had in a while.. took about 20 mins to get through to an operator in the meantime was forced to listen to shitty messages over and over again!

I see that I'm not the only one who hates this Paypal shit. If you'll go to Ebay, you'll see that people who have Paypal only items dont sell much of their merchandise. People are no longer interested when seeing the Paypal only sign. Same scenario happened with these shirts. ALOT of people would have bought them, but the Paypal killed off about 99% of possible sales. If you guys ever do this again, I would advise an International Money Order option. The shirts would then sell like hotcakes! I'm still hoping one surfaces on Ebay, without the Paypal link. LMAO!

Your claims about Ebay sellers having a hard time selling their stuff with Paypal are ludicrous. Paypal has helped ebay sellers a lot, otherwise it wouldn't have developped the way it has. As far as I'm concerned, it's the opposite scenario : if an item doesn't have the Paypal logo, it's bye bye baby. I don't bother with money orders anymore.

We're doing relatively fine, even if we haven't reached exactly the number of shirts we had planned.
We probably won't do this again, but even if we do,  we won't, I repeat, we WON'T accept money orders. Unless someone is willing to do the job AND pay the commissions  :hihi:

I have been informed that the company will start shipping the shirts this week.

The only problem is for the ladies who ordered a XS size shirt.  Those required a special order and their supplier won't be able to provide them to the company before late August. So those people will get their shirt at that point. I sincerely apologize for the delay.

The print is cool, and the material is really soft  :)

I'm realizing the sizes are quite large though : I took a size S ladies cut (it's usually perfect for me) and it's not really fitting  :confused:

Hopefully it will shrink a little when I wash it. btw, the little paper that came with my shirt (a white one) says I should wash it at 60?. I personnally think it's a little hot considering there is a print, and it's probably a better idea to wash it at 40? (30? for black shirts).

the guitar in the back Epiphone Gibson "Les Paul special", basically a cheap copy of a LP junior, it's actually the cheapest ephi out there but it makes amasing sound for a 1900 kr guitar. it's also my first electric so it has lots of sentimental values, it will retire during the encore of my first gig tho, i'm planing on smashing it in thrue rn'r spirit! :smoking:

OK, if that shirt would make me look as good as Nightfall, then I should have bought one.

But I have to agree, if this is done again, use something other than Paypal.  Paypal is widely known for having terrible customer service, its terms of service requires you to waive your rights to credit card consumer protection laws if you want to use their service, and that you may not issue a chargeback for unauthorized use of your credit card and PayPal account, and if you do, then they have the right to limit your account.  I would recommend checking out the site http://www.paypalsucks.com before considering signing up or continuing to use their service.

I, however, boycott it because they shut down the Leonard Peltier Defense Committee's fund, claiming they are a "terrorist organization."  I don't see how ANYONE can support this company.  But hey, if this is the only way to do it, then I think I'd just rather just go without a shirt.

All I can say is I've used Paypal's services very frequently for the past 5 years, and I've never had one single problem. On the other hand, I've had tons of problems with money orders and people sending cash in mail. So that choice is a no-brainer for me. But hey, it's up to each person's opinion. And good luck to find someone willing to be take charge of such an administrative nightmare. Because it won't be me  : ok:

i picked up my shirt on wednesday, and they had just delivered all the packages to the postoffice (except the xs which are on backorder), kind of weird that it takes so long within Europe.....which country is ignatius from? maybe they have lazy postal workers :P
