Title: Axl mention in August Q magazine: Post by: jimmythegent on July 24, 2005, 11:31:15 PM In the August 2005 issue of Q magazine, there is an article on the 50 Biggest Villains in the music industry, or the "git-list"? :hihi: as they alternatively refer to it:
50. Sizzla 49. Recording Industry Association of America 48. Mark Morrison 47. Jon Bon Jovi 46. R. Kelly 45. Peter Andre 44. Lars Ulrich 43. Mike Love 42. Richard Ashcroft 41. Lou Reed 40. Mutya Buena & Keisha Buchanan, Sugababes 39. Kid Rock 38. David Geffen 37. Gene simmons 36. Paul Simon 35. Tricky 34. Phil Spector 33. Allen Klein 32. Kate Moss 31. Wolfman 30. Don Henley 29. Charles Simpson 28. Tom Jones 27. Spice Girls 26. Beyonce Knowles 25. Sid Vicious 24. Peter Grant 23. Ike Turner 22. Billy Corgan 21. Ivan Shapovalov 20. Miles Davis 19. P. Diddy 18. Eric Clapton 17. Axl Rose WHY? Rewrote the book on rock star petulance. Penned questionable lines like "immigrants and faggots, they make no sense to me" (from One in a Million), faced allegations of assault from ex-wife Erin Everly and girlfriend Stephanie Seymour, and reduced Guns N' Roses to an immobile vanity project after refusing to continue 1991's Illusion tour until his soon-to-be-ex-bandmates signed over the name. His manager even took Slash's name off the guestlist for Guns N' Roses' 2001 comeback show claiming he didn't want Axl to feel 'uncomfortable'. MOST DASTARDLY DEED: According to ex-girlfriend Stephanie Seymour, he once dragged her barefoot through broken glass. 16. Don Arden 15. Simon Cowell 14. Tommy Lee 13. Damon Dash 12. Colonel Tom Parker 11. Jennifer Lopez 10. Rick James 09. Fred Durst 08. Malcolm McLaren 07. Chuck Berry 06. Sting 05. Dianna Ross 04. Suge Knight 03. Simon Fukker 02. Courtney Love 01. Michael Jackson There's another obvious Axl reference in a questionaire that asks Are you a villain? One of the questions is: The other members of my band are ... A. My best friends. B. A bunch of no-talent fools who I would dearly love to replace with sycophantic session musicians on the minimum wage. All a bit of fun, I like Q magazine, lighthearted but also informative. Title: Re: Axl mention in August Q magazine: Post by: dave-gnfnr2k on July 24, 2005, 11:35:10 PM The people that bring up the one in a million thing as a bad thing about Axl really do not understand the song at all. And other singers have said far worst in songs.? Instead of picking out that one like or the N line, why not listen to the whole song and understand what he is singing about. As for his alleged abuse of steph and erin, lets hope if those were true, that he got help for that.
