Here Today... Gone To Hell!

so i was at this bar with two friends last night just hanging out and having a beer, and being the huge guns n' roses fans that i am i was discussing the rumored nov. 29 rumour with a friend, because he had told me he had heard about it. so after a while a friend of my other friend comes over and with him is this drunk fool that supposedly was his buddy, and MY buddy, slightly drunk, asks this goon what he thinks of guns n' roses, just for shit and giggles to see his reaction to this unusual question. so this moron answers that he fucking hates axl rose and that he is a "whore", and adds that he has respect the other guys in the (old) band, even though he wasn't really a fan. so i ask him why he thinks axl is a "whore", and he proceeds to say that he ruined guns n' roses by acting like an idiot on stage with his bike shorts and bandanas. so i ask him what the fuck he means by ruining guns n' roses, after all axl was a major creative force in their music, and this guy (drunk as fuck) gets all hissy and agressive because he obviously can't think of a clever response, so he exclaims, quite loud, "i don't care, axl rose is a fucking moron!", and this other huge guy sitting next to us in the bar hears this and shouts back "hey, axl rose fucking rocks!", and the hissy idiot proceeds to walk over to him and threathen him with a beating if he says that again. so this huge guy shoves him away, and the moron shoves him back so that he falls against the bar and a glass breaks on the floor, and a bouncer who has been observing the whole thing chooses to grab the drunk fool by the neck of his shirt and take him up the stairs to kick him out, while the rest of us sitting therere just laugh our asses off and my buddy can't resist shouting after the idiot while the bouncer holds him by the neck, "that's what you get for dissing guns n' roses!". haha, just thought i'd share. true story. :smoking:

HA! I believe it.  At the Def Lep concert was similar convo.  Who hates Axl, who loves Axl.  It's funny if you bring up Axl or GNR the discussions are all like that.  Ofcourse not ending up in a bar brawl but alot of regular people will express that it's Axl's fault the band broke up and all that.

I dont really believe it. If I had been in the bar with you, that guy would have swallowed some of his teeth within about 5 seconds after calling Axl a whore. I think any hardcore GNR fan would have obliterated that guy. August, if this is true, why didn't you knock that guy out?

Maybe August's slightly more grown up than you and believes violence isn't the solution to anything?

Are you for real??! I love GNR as much as the next man but if someone disses Axl are u really gonna beat the shit outta them?! I mean it's not like they're dissing one of your family members, none of us KNOW Axl! I would verbally defend Axl to an extent but fighting and then being thrown out of a club over him is fucking ridiculous!

GNFNR_UK, I'm for real. If someone comes up to me and insults Axl to my face, I take it as a personal insult. GNR has meant so much to me through my entire life. There have been several points in my life when I was suicidal, and the words and music of GNR helped pull me through those rough times. I will forever be in debt to GNR for getting me through that, because without them, I wouldn't even be here today. I remember the last time I really thought about suicide was in the summer of 2000. I had bought a bunch of Vicodin and was seriously considering killing myself. I was in the bathroom crying, thinking about at what point I should do it, and then all of a sudden I went on a different train of thought. I realized that if I killed myself, I would never get to hear the new GNR album. Thinking of that really helped me, and I just went to my bedroom and chilled out until the bad feelings went away. So basically, if you walk up to me and call Axl a faggot, pussy, etc., you better have fists like Mike Tyson or the speed of Marion Jones.

James, get a life, man.   There are only a few things in life worth fighting for and Axl is not one of them!

Dude, WTF is wrong with you? I'm really glad that GNR music may have changed your mind but Axl himself did not save your life. You did that. So it's still cool if you wanna punch someone for bashing Axl but please do it for the right reasons.

 gilld1, maybe its not worth fighting for to you, but it is to me. I'm getting sick of all these 'get a life' and 'move on' comments that get thrown around in these forums. Those comments should be reserved for saying it to someone's face, but you do it from the comfort of your computer screen.

Anyway, I don't see why one should fight or beat the shit out of someone because they insult GN'R and/ or Axl. That's fucked up (for us fans) but it doesn't deserve a beating.

I've said it before, & I'll say it again - the longer axl takes in releasing his little album the DUMBER a number of his hard core fans seem to get.? Threads like this one are a prime example. These GnR forums are getting impossible to read.

If you have to debate whether or not to kill yourself, you are not suicidal.

But yeah i feel the whole "if i don't make it i won't hear the album" sentiment. true words i'm sure for a lot of us who've been here since the beginning.

If GNR is the reason you didn't got through with what you set out to do that day, then you have every right to take it personal when someone insults the very thing that has kept you alive and defend it as you see fit.? I am not going to tell you that you shouldn't but maybe you might want to think of the whole it's not worth it attitude.? IF someone insults Axl, they are the asshole and no need to spill blood over it.? ?

badtripp, believe what you want. I dont fucking care anymore. I wish I hadn't even mentioned getting into fights defending Axl. It only happened a few times, its not like it happens on a daily basis. I think you 'Axl is God' people are just pissed because you would bow down in fear if that situation happened to you. Get over it!

I had a squabble once with my friends about Axl. One was complaining why he is so scurrilous, the other was angry about the St. Louis, he said "that guys is insane, wacky".

At least some guys have some reasons to don't like someone, others just say "I don't like him" "why?", "I don't know he's just an asshole".
I had a hard debate with someone once. I didn't beat him :peace: simply a week passed till I talked to him again.

I think labelling my an 'Axl is God' type person is a bit of a stretch considering you dont fucking know me.  And with that in mind dont think you know me or what i would do in a tough situation, cause for all you know im 6'3, 205lbs kickboxing champion and all i know about you like to be an e-thug so keep talking your shit over the net if it makes you happy.
