Title: Mistake in new Blender magazine Post by: Eric on July 16, 2005, 11:55:08 AM Blender magazine has a small mention in the new issue about Mr. Brownstone and My Michelle-2 songs that are about heroin-My Michelle is about an actual person-she talked about it in the infamous Spin magazine issue with Axl on the front-correct?
Title: Re: Mistake in new Blender magazine Post by: loretian on July 16, 2005, 12:00:06 PM That's what I thought at first too - but then I reread the Blender item.? It says "two songs which name-check heroin."? I'm not exactly sure what name-check means, but My Michelle does mention heroin, and that might be what they mean.

They got mixed up ?because of the line about heronine in the song. Title: Re: Mistake in new Blender magazine Post by: Eric on July 16, 2005, 12:01:57 PM That's probably right
Title: Re: Mistake in new Blender magazine Post by: Izzy on July 16, 2005, 01:25:25 PM It says "two songs which name-check heroin."? I'm not exactly sure what name-check means, Just means they mentioned it, nothing more Title: Re: Mistake in new Blender magazine Post by: AxemanOnFire on July 16, 2005, 01:26:01 PM "Name check" basically means to mention. So the line She used ta love her heroin/But now she's underground is the ?"name check" they refer to.
Title: Re: Mistake in new Blender magazine Post by: WARose on July 16, 2005, 04:37:34 PM why do they mention that my michelle and mr brownstone name-check heroin ??
i think it`s pretty nonsens. Title: Re: Mistake in new Blender magazine Post by: jameslofton29 on July 16, 2005, 06:34:19 PM The Blender article referred to here is a drug timeline in rock n roll. Just be glad GNR was mentioned. Blender is one of the only magazines that always tries to keep the GNR name floating around in pop culture.
