I bet for most of those people Axl is just Axl and not "Axl the rockstar".

So you don't see them posting on the Internet about how they saw Axl at a restaurant or driving in his car....

I know axl isn't the popular guy we all knew back in the day but you would think one person would be hanging around to take his picture out of curiousity.. Maybe some big fan poparazzi.. I can't believe we have like no pics for two years, no small parties with other musicians, the guys in the band headed to the studio or something..

let`s better say we have no pics for one year now, not two. but that`s not much better i guess....

i believe there are pics, but no people who post them....


anyway it doesn`t really matter to me. i`d like to have a recent pic out of curiosity, but I`ve hope that we`ll get lots of them if chinese democracy is released.

Exactly how would it help us and the world out knowing that say like every Monday Axl goes to the 7-eleven for a slurpee?? :confused:

The people that see Axl are on his payroll and they aint talkin. Thats why there are so few photos.

Quick solution! Offer poparazzi couple hundred $$$ for some photos of Axl and there you go...recent pics. Thats the only way we'll get some.

I said it in another thread, I am shocked at how he really keeps himself private.  Nothing gets out about him, no pics, nothing..

i agree, axl is still a rock and roll legend and millions of people still appreciate and love him, despite his long abcence from the public eye. now how many people can say that. last pic i saw of axl was from 2003, at a led zeppelin release party. he looks skinny but great and looks like he had alot of fun. hold on, let me try to find the pics for you.

axl definately looks great for 43. and he's still got the charisma that only axl has, look at the 3rd pic. he's a rock star if there ever was one. 8)

I think I heard some were that Axl sleeps all day,and does the Studio work of Chinese Democracy at night only?

i've read something similar a few years ago. he's a night person, like me. 8)
this is off topic but i've also read that he rents the studio 24/7 to be able to work on the album whenever he wants without needing appointments, he just needs to call the engineers and let them know. imagine the fucking bill. interscope must really belive in this project. :smoking:

It really is amazing how in today's technology/media/internet leak world Axl has not only managed to keep the CD recordings secret, but also for how someone who was that incredibly famous to simply disappear. I mean has ANYTHING ever even come out as to why the 2002 tour was cancelled? How there hasn't been one sneaky studio worker or fan who has seen him around Malibu or something is bizarre. I always get the feeling that the way that tour went down caused alot more damage to axl's career than people want to believe around here.

I agree that it hurt his career. Who will be willing to promote him now? Whether or not he is truely to blame for the Riots and Cancellations the public thinks it's his fault so personally I think he may have a hard time getting another tour financed, Who wants to take the risk of paying for Damages to Venues and lawsuits for People getting hurt?

Yeah really, it doesn't feel like he's alive anymore. I remember the day I heard the tour was canceled , I was riding in the bus on my way to tech school, the bus driver was listening to the radio that plays our kind of music,that was when the station announced about it.

I hate to admit it. but to much of the world and those that see him daily (at the gas station, supermarket, clothing stores) he is the former frontman of GNR. Unless you are plugged into HTGH, the larger world thinks GNR disbanded circa 1993.  :'(

This is why GTA: San Andreas was actually a relief to me.  It was some actual proof that he's still alive.  How the hell did they get him to do that?  Of all the places he could pop up its on a video game.

Teachers in my school always ask me if they're still together and also tell me that thier kids listened to Guns n' Roses when they went to school in the 80's.

imagine james hetfield being spoken about this way. imagine rolling stone in 2000 making a six page article entitled "where the hell is james hetfield?" no one would give a fuck, they're so used to him. only axl can pull something like this off, going in exile for years and still have the huge demand for him intact. he sold out MSG without an album out in the last 10 years and with a whole new set of musicians for christ's sake. how many people can pull that off but axl?

About 2 years ago i went with a friend of mine to a factory unit at Castle Hill, NSW, Australia. This guy had an ad in the yellow pages and we rang him and he told us all this stuff we thought was crap, Anyhow we arrived there and i cant remember exactly but he was somebody important because he had the gunners drum kit (Autographed) from the 93 Aus tour, Slash guitar in this wood box with glass front and an american flag behind it and a cartoon slash and tophat. His floor was made of records man!!! it was SOOOOOOOOO Cool. We asked him about them and he said they were all nice guys, Accept AXL!!!! seriously. I HOPE THAT GUY IS A MEMBER OF HTGT!!! There was a report on tv a few months later that heap of rock n roll memorobelia was being auctioned in Sydney and surely enough, there it was!

there is a reason why they call axl the howard huges of rock n roll.  Axl is a very private person and how he has such control over the information and his studdio work and recordings so it doesnt get out is beyond me, but when he is ready, if ever, we will see it and and see him.  till then the legend of Axl Rose keeps building, and Im sure he gets a kick of some of the things that are said about him, I bet he leads a pretty normal life  well as normal as he could live  given his circumstances.

1? I don't think that Axl goes to the front door to get the pizza from the pizza guy  :hihi:

2? I don't think that the car seller needs to come here to tell us how was axl dressed like.

3? I don't think that Axl's neighborhood has too many photographers looking for famous people...

4? I don't think that paparazzis knows where are they gonna catch axl rose... he was already catched doing some shopping but it was just luck

id have to agree with hireing a poparazzi to "stalk" axl and take pics. i mean these people will follow celebs around all day to get a picture of them eating food, or crossing the street. and if they have a video camera they walk right in front of people saying shit like "dont touch my camera, i have a job to do; this is public property; ill see you in court" and get all offened when someone gets in their face or tells them to go away.......well, enough of that. but seriously, a good pic of Axl could be worth some coin.

Wait, I think I know why. Picture this, Axl's known for his long hair , he probably cut it so people couldn't reconize him. Listen to my story recently, an asshole friend of my cousin's shaved my hair off when I was asleep. When I walked around town , it took people a long time to figure what happened to me then they're like "wait is that our neighbor Mike?" I don't suppose Axl would hide in his house forever like Howard Hughes who people are comparing him to. I don't think he's a recluse as much you people are worried he is.

Supposably this was true. But that NYTimes article (if you can believe it) also said that this is no longer the case and that the label is no longer funding the recording process and any new work done on the album is funded from axl's own project.

I think Axl`s charisma, talent and stage presence are not forgotten by fans who are interested in him (ex. MSG sellout of 2002) But to the average Joe, he`s just a former rock star who no one has heard from in awhile.
