Title: Slash Is 4TH Most Metal Men Of All Time
Post by: duffsgal on June 14, 2005, 03:54:28 AM
Not sure if this has been posted before but in this months Ralph magazine, they have a feature of The 20 Most Metal Men Of All Time and our wild boy Slash comes in at number four. This is what they said about him.

Slash - It's a wonder Slash's liver didn't crawl out of his arse and try its luck on the open road. The Guns N' Roses guitarist hired a bodyguard to carry him home after evening refreshments, and he had to be tricked into going to rehab by his bandmates. He was also
pronounced dead at least four times. "I have seen nothing that looked like anything close to an afterlife or anything like that", he says. "But then, you know, I might have missed it 'cos I was seriously fucked up". Best work : Appetite For Destruction, Guns N' Roses.

The list is as follows

1. Ozzy Osbourne
2. Bon Scott
3. Cliff Burton
4. Slash
5. Dimebag Darrell Abbott
6. Lemmy Kilminster
7. Motley Crue (the whole band)
8. Randy Rhoads
9. Bruce Dickinson
10. Ronnie James Dio
11. David Lee Roth
12. Jonathan Davis
13. Ted Nugent
14. Dave Lombardo
15. Chris Barnes
16. Euronymous
17. Glenn Benton
18. Eric Adams
19. Blackie Lawless
20. Yngwie Malmsteen

You know when GNR were a the height of their career I never heard of these "deaths" the occured with Slash.? Not saying it's not true, just think it would of been known back in the day.? Also he said he died once, now 4 times?

Back in the day I heard that he died atleast twice , 4 times maybe a bit exagerated.

I'm sick of seeing Slash or any other GN'R members classified as "Metal". Seeing Slash asociated with the Nazi metal-head Lemmy Kilminster is a disgrace.

Lemmy rules, but otherwise I agree.
magazines and shit have a tendency to put the metal label on anything that's harder than Coldplay..

Interesting list...

metal is tying up your worst enemy to a chair, sticking a shot gun between their legs with a sheet attached to the trigger and the door and as soon as the door is opened the sheet pulls the trigger then ordering a pizza and sticking a note on the door to say come on inside.

Bon Scott, not Jovi! Worlds apart...

I would try to stick up for metal but I can't be arsed, instead I'm just gonna slap on some Mastodon.

How the hell is Blackie Lawless on that list, but not one member of Judas Priest?  This whole list thing needs to come to an end.

I don't consider Slash "metal" at all
he's the very definition of rock n' roll and classic rock n' roll at that
