So the closest I can get to knowing the full truth is what they've said...so I will trust them that Michael Jackson is an innocent man...and I am so happy for him right now. Molestors don't abuse all children they come in contact with. They look for certain situations to exploit.

Just because somebody was abused does not mean they will come foward. Many people deal with abuse (talking about it) when they are adults. With the scale and scope of the defendent, many people would not want their child going through such a thing. Not everybody wants money, more so, what is good for their child. I would think long and hard about the recovery of the child vs going after the accused with the media circus and further damage to the child.

Look at how many adult rape victims don't report their crime. They don't want to go through it again.

This is typical of abusers. They often look for scenerios where a single Mom is in need of a male. That is why molestors often take the role of boyscout leader or softball coach. Just helping out the single Mom by picking her kid up from practice, helping around the house with chores, befriending the victims family....gaining their trust. The only facts I see is that the state had a weak ass case. Easy for the defense to pick apart and an accuser with a shady Mom. Again, they had nothing to convict the guy, but strip away his star power, and money and he'd be in jail. I am of the opinion that he is guilty of these crimes, but the prosecution had nothing but the testimony of a gold-digging family and the jury was star struck. When I saw that charge introduced last week I had a feeling he was going to walk. That they just wanted to get him on that charge at least. Maybe to create a paper trail/save face. Whatever. But then I saw the charges were connected to the act of commiting a felony. If he is not found guilty of the felony, then he sure won't be found guilty of using alcohol to commit it.

If a person is accused of a crime and spends as much time as possible in front of a camera claiming their innocence to the world, but refuses to do so in front of the 12 people that hold his/her hate in their hands, thats not a good sign in my book. He/She has something to hide and doesnt want the prosecution presenting it to the jury.

I gave this guy the benefit of the doubt for YEARS. I understood why he became the way he did. I could understand how the life he had, could turn him inward and into this thing. There was not enough evidence in this case to take him down, but I can conclude that after reading what I have about the other victim that settled, and his recent actions with children, that this guy is a pedophile.

Children sleeping over at a friend's house.? The parents of the child going to the sleepover should not only get to know the parents of the other child but also who will be in that house where their child is to sleep.

Is the potential there for a 16 year old male sibling of your 12 year old daughter's freind whose house your daughter is sleepong at......a danger to your daughter?

In the end it's all about how active a role parents take in protecting their children.

I also will say again it took me YEARS AND YEARS to change my opinion of old MJ. I thought he was innocent for years (dating back to the early 90's-that's a long time). I never assumed he was guilty at first, in fact I thought the opposite.

Before I say my last thing about this, I'd like to list classic pedophile traits, you can apply them to MJ and ask yourself if they match:

-an adult who prefers the company of children to adults.

-an adult who acts like a kid, especially around kids. Including talking like a kid with kids about things that kids are interested in.

-an adult who looks for any reason to be alone with kids, and who leaves the presence of the kids as soon as another adult comes around

-an adult who begins giving your kids gifts for no reason

-an adult who suddenly began paying a lot of attention to you and your family after you had a kid or once your kid reached a certain age who never seemed to care much about you or your family before.

MJ matches all those and then some. He falls directly into the column of pedophile, based on those traits. I am putting all the bullshit, hype, media, and stardom aside. I always have. I am applying those traits to ANY MAN and see if they apply. They ALL APPLY TO MJ. And there is no bullshit about that.

Lucky for him, they had a stupid gold digger this time. But, there will be another, because pedophiles are undable to stop (Look at the case in the 90's that he paid off). Expect another trial one day.

His defense had to do one thing : create reasonable doubt, nothing more nothing less.

They didn't aquit him of everything because they were in awe of him, maybe some where, but the entire jury? Not likely. There was no evidence against him

I suppose people have become cynical because of the OJ Simpson trial which does appear highly dubious.

I believe that Michael Jackson is guilty. ?Ten years ago, I didn't believe it. ?I believed that they were going after him for his money. ?But when he actually succumbed and paid off that family, I started to become doubtful, because, you know what, if he was innocent... he should NOT have paid that money. ?I realize that paying the settlement was "not an admission of guilt" but... if you're innocent, the facts should be on your side and you should have your day in court to vindicate you.

The fact that he was not found guilty in this trial doesn't mean anything to me. ?I have absolutely no faith in the California Justice system after OJ walked from a crime he very clearly committed.

That actually makes no sense. ?Innocence cannot be proven, that is why the verdict is either "guilty" or "not guilty". ?The jury has to look at the evidence provided and decide, if Michael Jackson were innocent, ?how likely is it that certain evidence would be presented? ?Beyond a certain point it becomes clear "beyond a reasonable doubt" that Michael Jackson is guilty. ?This case did not have enough evidence so he was considered "not guilty". ?This does not prove that he is innocent.

Michael Jackson preys upon children, convincing them that what he does to them is normal. ?These children trust him, and he takes advantage of that.

Correction, he was found NOT GUILTY... which is NOT the same as innocent. 

The jury could not convict because it is on the prosecution to present a case in which there is no "reasonable doubt" and if there is any "reasonable doubt" ... then you must acquit and find NOT GUILTY.  It is NOT a proclamation of innocence, but rather, a failure on the prosecution's case to present overwhelming evidence as to Jackson's guilt.  When you are accused of a crime, it is not the accused job to prove his innocence, because they are considered "innocent until proven guilty."  It is the prosecution's job to present a case that leaves no room for doubt, and if they fail to do so, they are found not guilty of the accusation.

This doesn't mean that they are innocent or did not commit the crime.

D:  OJ's case IS similar in that two men who committed crimes walked away and cannot be tried again for these same crimes.

According to Cook, the foreman said that ?if I could not change my mind or go with the group, or be more understanding, that he would have to notify the bailiff, the bailiff would notify the judge, and the judge would have me removed.? Removed for believing Jackson was guilty? Jurors in trials have a solemn responsibility to vote to convict a defendant if they believe the evidence is convincing.

 

The story sounds quite fishy, but of course, both jurors are now shopping potentially lucrative book deals and stand to profit from their late conversions. The jurors claim that the public has a right to know the truth, better late than never. However, it seems more likely that they are trying to cash in on the controversy surrounding the star and the trial. During the jury deliberations, there was ample time for these two jurors to convince the other jurors of Jackson?s guilt or at least to maintain their stance and force a hung jury. For these jurors to announce their supposed beliefs at this point is not only too late to convict Jackson, but it! also looks quite suspicious as well.

 

According to Cook, there is ?No doubt in my mind whatsoever, that boy was molested.? If so, it is an outrage that she would have allowed a guilty man to walk free, especially a child molester. If she truly believed he was such a monster, then it was her obligation as a juror to vote for a conviction. Because Cook believed that Jackson was ?no doubt? guilty means that she had convinced herself based on the evidence that he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Cook was negligent in her duty as a juror, and a coward for not expressing her feelings forcefully enough in the jury room. These two jurors should be sued.

I dont know if these are the same two that I heard about the day the trial ended, but there were two jurors that stated that their personal belief was that Michael Jackson did do what he was accused of. They just didnt think that the state proved that he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

There is a major problem with high profile cases in the US.  Time and time again we get bizarre decisions from juries.  From what I saw of the evidence in the cases the verdicts in the OJ simpson, robert blake, scott peterson and michael jackson trials did not make any sense.

It's time that the media were prevented from speculating on trials while they are continuing.  I know that the media have a right to free speech but people have the right to a fair trial and that is more important than allowing geraldo to talk out of his ass.

You make a very good point. Even when juries are sequestered they still get conjugal visits and if you think information is not being passed on during these visits, you are sadly mistaken. Vincent Bugliosi wrote an excellent book after the Simpson trial about how all the stations were competing to outdo eachother that they were just putting anyone who was a name in the legal field in front of the camera. Most of the people that were on camera had never even tried a murder case if they had even seen the inside of a court room at all.

I do think the media has the right to cover these events either by putting cameras in the court room or just the old fashion way of reading about it in the paper the next day. What needs to go away is these talking heads that get in front of a camera and try to tell us how we should feel about the news. If you are too dumb to form your own opinion on a situation you should just turn the damn t.v. off and go be a moderator for some sports video game web site. ;)

I wish Jackson's trully innocent but I doubt the american justice in such cases, e.g. microsoft case
