Here Today... Gone To Hell!

Are we? Tenneagers of today, the last generation of GN'R? and possibly dying rock n roll? Dont mean to dampen everyone, and i know GNR cant live forever, but I was wondern this a while ago. The next generation may not even know what R N R is, cause allthough many bands are good, new R NR, they never get noticed, and are all smothered over with RNB sauce. so, d'ya think we are the last generation of GNR/RNR fan?

the door, zepplin, the beatles, sabbath. they all live on to this day and they are from the 60's and 70's

Indeed - as music gets worse the older bands get more popular than they were even at the time - hell - how many people bought early Metallica stuff when it first came out 20 years ago? Not many.

im 14 and im into rock, metal etc greatly. All i see is chavs and people getting into emo crap.

I do think rock is dieing because it is not publicised enough. heres a example, the friday night radio 1 rock show has been moved from 10 pm till 1 in the morning. Like anyones gonna hear that.

 Rock n Roll will get the last laugh, i believe . all of a sudden in my school i see more kids wearing shirts of bands that came out before they where born than modern bands .  i got into late 90's music before  but i grew out of it and got into the older music

I like the music of the Beatles, Zep,  punk n post punks, which ages I'm no way the witness of.
I even like some classical music and ethnic folk music of unknown authorships.

Now then how far GN'R can go, I think, depends on the current GN'R of the coming era and the albums.

In the beggining I used to listen to Metal bands only. After GN'R I moved to Hard-Rock bands. Many people do the same thing because they want to know who started all this. After all, some of us don't really like the noise but the melody most.

GNR will be talked about for years n' years man.

Besides from rock bands, which techno or rap band do you think will be around like ....The Doors have for instance.

Hell no man. GnR are more popular now than they have ever been since the original band broke up, and more n more really young kids are gettin their music right. In the dark, dark days of nu-metal a few years back there were absolutely no good bands around at least now there's a few comin up, and some great bands (Motley Crue) or parts of them bands (VR) are gettin together again.

mmm I think there will always be GNR fans, because their music doesnt have time...

i didnt mind nu metal, as it was the thing i progressed from onto real bands. I blame it on TV's and radios not promoting rock enough.

GN'R and other good rock won't die if we keep it alive.  Its our duty as fans to try to get other people into this stuff.  I know if I ever have kids I'm gonna try my best to get them into the music I like.  Good music will always live on as long as people have an opportunity to hear it.

As mentioned earlier, older (and really older) bands still enjoy popularity by fans who weren`t even born when these bands called it quits. GNR will always find new fans.

It all goes in cycles. Things are kinda stagnant now. It just takes one great band to stir it up again.

Today i saw a kid, maybe 10 years old, wearing a GNR t-shirt, the Bullet logo! So i guess we are not the last gnr generation.

As long as AFD is in stores and getting airplay, GNR will attract new fans.

I think if they continue putting the songs in movies and on movie soundtracks there will be more fans. Besides AFD still sells highly to this day.

Not if we keep the younger generations in tune with GNR.  I bought my little sisters (2 and 3) lil GNR shirts from Hot Topic.  As long as we keep the name alive, it will remain in music  pop culture.

I don' think it really matters.
I became a fan in '98 when nothing really happened in the GN'R world. There was no old band, no new band. Once the 'leader' of Bathory mentioned that they never do videos or singles but in every 5th years he gets more money from the album sales because that's when a new generation of kids finds his albums.

No, great music never stops getting discovered by the youth of the world.

as long as radio and videos exist people will always be rock fans and gnr fans.. Something like vr has opened the door to stp fans and a new generation of rock fans who now buy gnr albums.. Sabbath, zepplin hendrix doors, beatles, the who, stones etc will always live on

well,when i got into GNR a year later everyone else that likes good music got into them. So im doing my bit lol. All im trying to do is get myself a t-shirt.

same with METALLICA and pink floyd led zepplin.

and look at ELVIS presely, his music has been kept alive for years
no one will forget our hero's.
because i am going to pass it on to my kids... and they will with thier kids.

it's the way i listen and love my music that makes me the person i am today.
when i hear my bands my eyes close and i zone out no matter where i am
i know that i prob look like a dickhead  when i do it.but i cant help it aye
they just shut, on the bus in the car, at a party.....
i am at work right know sitting in a boring office on my own...listening to Dust N Bones...
i just cant get enough of GNR.

I think we are the first generation of GNR fans, but definately not the last.

No, I don't think so.? I think as long as GNR is still getting some sort of air time, there is always a chance of new fans jumping on the boat.? VR also has opened the door for young people to get into old GNR.? As soon as Axl releases CD, the one's that missed the boat with VR can jump on with New GNR.? ? ?:peace:

TV and Radio DONT advertise it enough....
you dont see GNR being interviewed on the today show do ya... but you see all these new rock and pop bands...

it's up to us to introduce people to GNR... my neice is 13 and she just went out and brought a GNR albem cos she herd me boosting guns n roses.... and saying how awsome they are...
now she is rockin on !!!!

I dont think so, i think the rock is starting to come back.
Music took a turn in the 90's with the grunge to the boy bands
to the rap but now i notice things starting to change.
I for one wear old band shirts i have a sabbath a zepp
2 gnr's and an acdc  and i wear em because
i want rock to make a revival and if it does then by no means

no way are we the last generation, my 4 year old cousin thinks hes gonna be slash 4 gods sake! Im only 12 an the only music i think is worth listenin to are rock bands from the sixties to the early nineties so i think gnr are safe for the time being. Plus u can kill men but not legends an certainly not legendary music! : ok:

AFD is timeless. When the sun explodes in 5 billion years, there will be someone listening to AFD when it happens.

 i think younggunner's idea of  having a radio station is great... have a couple of hours once/twice a week ( untill we actually have heaps to talk about ) talk about GNR and play all thier songs... i think thats a fantastic idea...  who knows it mite even take the world by storm... then there will be no chance of them being forgotten and i think it would save us all!!
i would die without GNR..
and there are more people out there like me..!!!
