Axl Rose, for obvious reasons, and John Lennon, because he was unlike other musicians and practiced what he preached. He didn't just take his riches and run away with em, he put them to good use and alwasy stood up for what he believed in. You could say Bono and Geldof do the same thing but I prefer Lennon's music!  :peace:

If you mean heroes in music industry, I would say Robert Plant, Jon Oliva, Freddie Mercury, Axl Rose.
If you mean, generally heroes, there are many people I appreciate. I try though to do better things and not live in the shadows of them.

Axl Rose - The reason i am so passionate about music, the guy who really started my big interest in it.

Shawn Michaels - Wrestling may be 'fake' but it's entertainment and nobody has entertained me more than this guy a true legend of Sports Entertainment.

Not sure whether i would call them heroes though, more like people i have lots of respect for, HBK was definately a childhood hero for me though.  What these 2 have in common is despite having many fans a great number of people in there chosen industries think they are ego-maniacs and general assholes...o well

There seem to be many different definitions of the word 'hero', so I'm not sure if I would call Axl - for example - a hero, or just someone in whom there appears to be admirable qualities. I admire the insight Axl seems to have into the innermost feelings within his heart, regardless of whether his intentions and actions are good all the time or not, and the same applies to many people.

Insight into my own heart is something I never stop seeking to increase, and consequently (or maybe it's the other way round) I find myself drawn to sensitive people. Often they're pretty fucked up people too, because they've thought so much, found so many hard truths, and become so de-stabilized and depressed, as a result of that. The more I think about it, though, the more I feel that the only people in this world who have any real sort of sanity are those who realise how flawed, yet often beautiful - and ultimately deserving of tolerance and acceptance - most things are, and who are considered by the masses to be a bit wrong in the head. I think the best word I have for the people I admire, is 'quirky'. I love quirky people; the genuine ones, that is. Most people think they can run out in the street naked, with a purple hat on, and then claim to be crazy and insane, but they just don't get it ?:P Quirkiness runs so much deeper than that. I think most quirky people don't even realise they're quirky ?:D

Obviously there are lots more other reasons I could think of someone as a kind of 'hero', but that's definitely one of the main ones. Someone mentioned Slash. Slash is a 'guitar hero', and I think he's pretty cool, but he's not a hero of mine. I only think he's cool in society's definition of the word. He doesn't fit in with what I personally think is cool, which is far more important. Axl doesn't even fit in with my personal definition of 'cool' amazingly well - at least definitely not as well as some others - but I used him because he's an obvious choice on a Gn'R message board.

Not all of the following necessarily portray a great amount of the personal insight I love so much, but they all have their reasons for being in the list of people I admire ?:) Most of the reasons are far more shallow, but I don't feel like tearing apart all of their personalities until I have reminded myself how sickeningly human they all are. It's good to be aware of that though, 'cause I don't think it's good to ever worship people like Axl etc. At the end of it all, nobody is much better or worse than anyone else. Not even a mass murderer is much worse than me, or anyone else who might be reading this, and not even Ghandi was much better. Maybe some people just get better opportunities to display their beauty, whereas others are tempted more often to sin.

So here are some people ?;)

Billy Corgan
Angelina Jolie
Everyone who has tried to love and tolerate me. Some have given up, but I admire them for trying.

That'll do, 'cause this is becoming a rant and a half. Funny thing about ranting for this long is that nobody reads it. Sod it, I've benefitted from writing it ?: ok:

Richard Feynman.

  • Unorthodox genius.
  • Brilliant physicist.
  • Arrogant bastard.    ;D
  • Artist - he liked to draw nudes.
  • Musician (bongo drums and Brazilian salsa).
  • Safe-cracker.

The Feynman Lectures on physics are among my most treasured possessions.

my mother is number 1 she allows me to chase my dreams, she worked a full time job and cleaned 8 peoples houses just so we could live after my dad split, she is the strongest person i know.

but celebrity wise

Axl Rose I relate to him all around emotionally and mentally, he brings out my inner badass also inspires me to run and stay in great cardio condition.

Jon Bon Jovi writes what seems to be the soundtrack to my life, showed me u could be a nice guy and still do great things.
Prince inspired me musically to play all the instruments myself, He showed me it is ok to be different and to have a great appreciation for love, spirtuality and women
Johnny Depp Integrity, proved that u can make it by making your own rules.
Shawn Micheals I agree with what SToned said, he is the greatest wrestler ever and overcame so much to keep doing what he loves
Triple H inspired me to start pumping iron and he brings out my inner bad ass
Dennis Rodman inspires me to work hard and if u want something bad enough it can happen
Mike Tyson proved to me that no matter how shitty of a childhood u have, u can make something of yourself, Tyson also made me tougher and inspired me not to take shit off people

My mom is my hero. She's really great with people. I see how she treats people and how she sacrifices her own time to take care of others. She works hard and never complains. There are so many things I could say, but words could never do her justice.

I don't have any heroes. I have many people I look up to, nu noone I can call a hero. I guess I can say that I'm trying to be my own hero.

But the guy that's closest to being my hero is Arnie. He did something amazing: he reached the top in 3 completly diferent areas of activity.  He was the greatest bodybuilder ever, he was the best payed actor ever, and he has the most important job an Austrian can have.  If you can do just one of these things in a lifetime you can say you made it, but he did all 3!

I wouldn't call them "heroes" (I don't have heroes) but in my life I've definitely appreciated:
- Georges Weah (the greatest football player I've ever seen, better than Pel?)
- David Ginola
- Axl and Slash (BOTH)
- Oasis (especially at their peak)
- Scharzenegger and Stallone
- Leslie Nielsen (He is so funny!)
- Emmanuelle B?art, Allissa Milano.
- Pierre Richard (the french leslie nielsen)
- Louis de Funnes (genius)
- Raymond Devos (extremely intelligent humorist)
- Alain Prost
- Jean-Jacques Goldman (too shy but incredibly talented). A real genius.
- Boris Becker
- Recently thanks to the Internet, Elvis Prestley, James Brown?
- John Lee Hoocker and more generally the old black American Musicians (Bluesmen). Not the crappy rappers of todays...the REAL black American music: Blues, Gospel etc...

He set the record for the highest wage recieved for a movie a few times. I'm not sure, but I think he did that with T2, True lies and T3. And he was definetly the most popular actor in the world in the early nineties.
Of course he wasn't the best actor.

can u imagine how embarassing it would have had to been for john Bobbit?

I saw the porno he did afterwards and he has a pretty small dick.

So u can imagine going to the police station and they pull out this little stub of a dick and say "Here sir, we found your dick"

how embarrassing, u know the cops had to be laughing their fucking asses off.

I wouldve played dumb and been like "that aint my dick", "My dick is way bigger than that" "U better keep looking"

I wouldve then told them "Well if that was the best u could find, ill take it"

how embarrassing.
