Title: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: Malcolm on May 13, 2005, 02:54:01 PM VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum recently spoke to Launch Radio Networks about the group's upcoming DVD, which is tentatively due late summer. "We're working on it right now," he said. "We're cutting it up. Shot that down in Houston early on, and we did a lot of footage backstage and stuff, so it should be real interesting. We're gonna intercut a lot of backstage footage with a lot of stuff in our travels, you know, cross-country, which will be cool to kind of end the tour up with."
As previously reported, VELVET REVOLVER have written and recorded a new song for the soundtrack of the upcoming movie "The Fantastic Four", according to Sp1at.com. A spokesperson reportedly confirmed the band's involvement with the movie to the web site. Based on the long-running Marvel comic book, "The Fantastic Four" follows four astronauts who gain superpowers after being exposed to cosmic radiation. The movie, which hits theaters on July 8, stars Jessica Alba as the Invisible Girl, Michael Chiklis as the Thing, Ioan Gruffudd as Mr. Fantastic and Chris Evans as the Human Torch. VELVET REVOLVER are currently headlining across the U.S. with their Electric Wonderland Show tour, and will appear on the final seven dates of this summer's Ozzfest, beginning on August 23. I'm so disappointed! hopefully they add the these songs somehow but I doubt it
Title: Re: Details on VR DVD Post by: jarmo on May 14, 2005, 06:40:24 PM They should've released one of the London shows from January..... ;D
/jarmo Title: Re: Details on VR DVD Post by: erose on May 14, 2005, 07:35:50 PM it will be great with a VR DVD, the more slash n' duff the better! : ok:
Contraband gets better and better for every listen, there's a lot of cool stuff in there, so the timing for a proshot live dvd with great sound couldn't be better. I hope to god that they come to Roskilde Festival and does a huge set in front of 70 000 people and then they could maybe put something from that show on the dvd too.. Title: Re: Details on VR DVD Post by: Top-Hatted One on May 14, 2005, 07:40:47 PM yeah its still gonna kick ass because its VR.
RCA doesn't joke around! there's a reason why they are where they are today at the top of the industry. They are a money making machine. They rather hold songs back from us so that they can release them seperately like with the VR singles. They make more money that way. In some ways I wish VR had signed with Electra who VRwas considering Title: Re: Details on VR DVD Post by: Krispy Kreme on May 14, 2005, 10:57:41 PM it will be great with a VR DVD, the more slash n' duff the better!? : ok: Contraband gets better and better for every listen, there's a lot of cool stuff in there, so the timing for a proshot live dvd with great sound couldn't be better. No Dirty Little Thing or Superhuman which are two of my favorite tracks. Plus the band is alot better now than then.... What is the exact setlist anyway???

Post by: W. Botaxl Rose on May 28, 2005, 03:26:26 PM Just wondering if they'll have to come up with some cash to "sell" the covers of those STP & GNR songs? Anyone with an idea how this works, especially since they weren't on the VR album already.
Title: Re: Will the covers be on the DVD? Post by: Malcolm on May 29, 2005, 09:24:38 AM I dought it since they all contributed to those songs from GNR and STP
Title: Re: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: badapple81 on May 30, 2005, 04:05:23 AM Not to be TOO picky, but I prefer the more recent setlist with Dirty Little Thing, You Got No Right etc. Still will kick ass tho!
I guess VR will spend some time in the studio when Ozzfest finishes and get the second album out sometime early next year? Title: Re: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: metallex78 on May 30, 2005, 07:53:54 AM Not to be TOO picky, but I prefer the more recent setlist with Dirty Little Thing, You Got No Right etc.? Title: Re: Details on VR DVD Post by: Jamie on May 31, 2005, 03:31:18 PM Im guessing this is the setlist.. But that's just by the setlist maybe VR performed better on the second one there. But the first definitely has a batter setlist IMO. Title: Re: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: Malcolm on July 26, 2005, 09:47:27 AM Any more news on when this is gonna be coming out along with the live cd?
Title: Re: Will the covers be on the DVD? Post by: babydolls on July 26, 2005, 12:19:45 PM Just wondering if they'll have to come up with some cash to "sell" the covers of those STP & GNR songs? Anyone with an idea how this works, especially since they weren't on the VR album already. actually - they will get paid separately again for these songs. Any gn'r or stp (or nirvana, etc) covers played live, will result in performance royalties to the writers of the original tracks. There would be more ? for all of them, apart from matt and dave I guess. Title: Re: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: Falcon on July 26, 2005, 12:32:16 PM You reckon they're gonna be allowed to release stuff like Mr Brownstone? :-\ Ya, I'd expect so. It might cost them a bit but I don't think they'll get too much resistance. Just speculating.. Title: Re: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: jimmythegent on July 26, 2005, 06:34:04 PM wow this should be cool - music DVDs rule :peace:
Title: Re: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: mrlee on July 26, 2005, 07:27:32 PM well since mr brownstone belongs to axl, izzy, slash, steven and duff. Well thats 2 members so they sorta half own it dont they?
Title: Re: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: deliverthecow on July 26, 2005, 07:53:25 PM I am really looking forward to this dvd. I think it would be cool if they also had some bonus footage of later dates of the tour so we can get performances of Dirty Little Thing and You Got No Right as well. If it is put together half as good as the STP Thank You dvd it will be good.
Title: Re: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: D on July 27, 2005, 01:28:48 AM If I never hear Use To Love her ever again Ill be thrilled
really didnt sound good and is actually bout the only cheesy GNR song ever made. They have to be doing a newer show. Title: Re: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: electricmage on July 28, 2005, 02:08:16 PM If I never hear Use To Love her ever again Ill be thrilled really didnt sound good and is actually bout the only cheesy GNR song ever made. They have to be doing a newer show. Cheesy? It's your basic acoustic song. It's probably the most carefree song Guns ever wrote. Title: Re: Details on VR DVD & Possible Setlist Post by: deliverthecow on August 01, 2005, 09:28:03 PM Anyone here any recent news regarding the release of the DVD ? I for one am anxious to get my hands on this. I would say it is a safe bet this will be released around the Christmas season.
