Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I ask this question because looking back, the wait between AFD and the Illusion albums was only four years and GNR came up with thirty songs to release in that waiting period.  It's been thirteen years since the Illusion albums were released so is there the potential that Axl has around ninety songs worth releasing?

Well, there was that rumor about Axl giving 15 tracks to the record company. And for some strange reason, no one jumped all over it saying it was bullshit. And if its supposedly coming out at the end of the year, that rumor is probably true.

Theres gonna be 54 songs that are 1 to 2 minutes long on the album :drool:

12-15 KILLER tracks would be great. No fillers. Just show the best material. No B-sides. 18 tracks are too much.
The quantity doesn't matter, all is about the quallity.

who cares...this has to be like the millionth thread with this topic...it's sad that because gnr never releases any real info for us to discuss, forums are overflowing with worthless topics like this...

How many minutes of material can be put on a CD these days?

With Axl's penchant for the long song I'd thnk we'd get a "full" release, no matter what the actual number of tunes may be.

Isn't it still around 74-80 minutes?

I just went through all my copies of the "new" songs the lengths are approximately as follows:

Oh My God - 3:40
Madagascar - 5:30
The Blues - 4:30
Chinese Democracy - 3:00
IRS - 3:40
Rhiad and the Bedouins - 3:20
Silkworms - 3:20

thats about 27 minutes for 7 tracks. so that's, on average 3minutes and 50 seconds per track. Which works out to be 20 tracks in 80 minutes (@ 3.83333 mins/track)

It is conceivable that there may be 18 tracks on CD like Axl said ages ago or maybe the 15 track rumor is true and there is a song or 2 around 7 minutes long.

Interesting that The Blues was excluded, but like so many other things I have a feeling this is far from official.

Actually I dreamed of that.....but I thought, You know in actuality a band would need songs in the length of a single...so I dared not post it. :P

How about trying to play and sing a song like that live,  :nervous: , Axl has to leave every 10 min or so now for a breather, he would be hoarse after 1 concert, but it would be a cool show : ok:

ppbebe, I give all music a listen, loud guitars rule for me though so Dave Mustaine, Slash, Dimebag, Zakk Wylde etc. are my heros, but one can't live on meat alone, so other music gets played at my house regularly. I'm not just some metal-head :hihi:

I'm surprised people didn't freak out when Tommy said something like " this is gonna be a short album". Not an exact quote, but pretty close. CD might just be the best 8 or 9 songs Axl has.

I believe that TOmmy said it was going to be 10-11 tracks .

But after all these years of Tommy saying stuff .I think it's pretty safe to say he doesn't have a fuckin clue whats going on.
