Here Today... Gone To Hell!

I've been visiting this forum on and off for a few years now, and finally decided to join today.? Anyway,
I heard on Kerrang FM last week that Chinese Democracy had been "finished" and the record company/management were ready to release it in november. So I send an e-mail to tina.chang who is the PA of Merck Mercuriadis.

This is what I Got

Dear Tina,

Sorry to bother you, but I would be extremely grateful if you could
clarify the situation.
I heard on kerrang radio this morning that Chinese Democracy had been
handed to the record company, and was being aimed at a November
release date. With all the usual manic rumours regarding guns n roses,
would you be able to clarify this true or false?

Its only the smallest bit on info, but it goes to show that the album probably still hasn't been handed over yet.

She is Merck Mercuriadis's assistant, right ?

In her position, she cannot clarify it to you and i undersand why, because even if that proved to be right, it would cause havoc and the company wouldn't be ready in time, they have things to do when an album is on its way " out".

I don't think what you did was very fair on her.

My opinion.

She didn't say that just that they hadn't made an anouncement.

Well we all know there has been no announcement anyway. Besides it's not like she can come out and tell yuo yes the album will definately be coming out this year. If she did that she would prolly be fired.

Correct she is the P.A for Merck Mercuriadis, and would be very up to date with what's going on in the gnr camp. I've contacted her before and she's been fine with it, as I've never been rude or asked anything unfair.
I see your point about the "causic havoc", but she is certainly not a fool and wouldn't give anything away. I just wanted her to clarify a "statement" on kerrang FM, which she kindly did. In this Guns N Roses world we hear so many lies, rumours and outragous claims. I think its quite refreshing for the guns n roses camp to actually say "Yes" or "No".

She said what most people know, there's no official news on the album at the moment.



Kerrang! radio got their "news" from the Internet without checking the source.

I didn't put it on my site because I knew where it originated and I didn't consider it reliable enough.

Indeed.  It was nothing more than unsubstantiated gossip, and never meant to be taken as anything else.  Unfortunately, it seems that gossip propagation and the blurring of the line between fact and gossip is inevitable where there is a hunger for information and the internet.

I know it's enfuriating because we have dreamed there would be an album for very long years, but we are only fans.

What's right is that journalists and DJ's will, if that album sees a birth date, know before we do.

The tracks will be sent to them, that's part of the promotional work.

So in the meantime, anyone play networking warcraft or something, because i have lost my gaming partner ?  ;D

Didnt kerrang supposedly "review chinese democracy material" and most of it was old live stuff from the illussion era and a fucking demo from the 80's. They are a joke.

im not surprized ' so many rumors and no truths.someday perhaps it will be released.untill then more rumors.so i won't hope for nov then i guess.oh well onto another g n' r rumor.i sure do hope it gets out soon if anything.over the summer would be kool and a winter tour.i live in hope's still i guess. :rant:

No offense, But Tina usually sends the same e-mail out to anyone that e-mails her on the subject.  I've gotten the same e-mail from her 2 years ago.
