Title: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: jimmythegent on May 10, 2005, 02:22:28 AM Sorry if this not an approriate place to post this, but I thought this is worthy of discussion somewhere.
Lets say that GNR (original) reform for an album and tour at some point down the line. I don't think Adler would cut the mustard in all fairness, I feel theyd be dubious to bring him back in the fold. As for Sorum, I think he's permanantly burned his bridges with Axl and I get the feeling Izzy doesn't rate his style as well. Lets say they recruit another drummer altogether. Who would it be or who would you like it to be? Brain? Josh Freese? Personally Id love to see Stephen Perkins from Janes Addiction or Dave Grohl What do you guys think? Post by: gandra on May 10, 2005, 02:26:51 AM as a fan of appetite for destruction my favorite is Adler.I like Matt too,but i want to see Steven on stadiums shows.I think that original gnr line up from 1987 with Dizzy Reed will be something special now in 2005.I don't know but i think that Axl have a last word
Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: ClintroN on May 10, 2005, 02:27:45 AM Man give Steven a fare go, he's a fuckin' great drummer man, his style is cool , Matt just followed it when he joined so fuck Matt n' his same ol' boring solo's.
Steven is the man IF there were to be any reunion. CHINESE FUCKIN' DEMOCRACY Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: kaasupoltin on May 10, 2005, 06:36:48 AM Who cares.. It will never happen. And that makes me sad :( But still, my dream is that I would see the original GnR playing their great stuff and jumping on the stage. But if neither, Adler or Sorum, would join the group, the new drummer would be... me.

I have never been into drums and couldn't tell the difference.. I would want steven though.. Dave grohl was mentioned, he's really good but he has foo fighters and he guests everywhereTitle: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: Butch Français on May 10, 2005, 07:55:58 AM of course it should be Steven, but if he for some reason can't make it. then BRAIN!!
Brain is my fav drummer, and if he can't make it Im gonna mention my other fav drummers that I would love to see playing in that lineup: Steven Perkins, Chad Smith, Tim Alexander, Tommy Lee or Jon Theodore! Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: SINSHINE on May 10, 2005, 09:20:02 AM Lars! He's always had a 'thing' for Axl & Co. and seeing as how a reunion of this nature wouldn't take place until Hell freezes over, it's a safe bet that the shell of a band that is now Metallica will have kealed over by then (they're on 'life support' now as is).
If not...how 'bout Tommy Lee (now THAT would make for an interesting tour)! Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Izzy coming back would be cool. but I'd still want Fortus in the band. I"m happy with the band and i really dont even want the old band to reform. Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: crthiel on May 10, 2005, 06:01:30 PM Stephen is a washed up junkie who isn't worthy of GnR anymore.

Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: Rock the jungle on May 10, 2005, 07:58:48 PM I'm sorry, someone would like to kill me when reads my opinion, but I think Steven Adler even though he did the appetite for destruction, he doesn't have enough level to play the Use your illusions, I think the drums from the UYI are a little bit more thecnical
I'm so sorry to say that 'cause I'm a "drummer" and I love the way he plays the drums but I think Brain has more level than Seteven. Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: jameslofton29 on May 10, 2005, 08:05:40 PM How about Don Henley??

It would be the slightly-less-new Guns N' Roses.. Not to be nit-picky. Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: usurper on May 11, 2005, 02:26:51 AM I'd personally go for Josh Freese, or at least Brain
Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: gandra on May 11, 2005, 02:28:04 AM i think that drummer from 2002 tour would be great solution.Man is great player and i like his style.
In rio Axl says Brian brain mantia, yes that is great solution. but if they don't want members from axl inkarnation of gnr,i think that ex drummer of skid row would be great solution. Hahahahhaha. No! Stumpy Joe of course.. But does it matter anyway. Guns n' Roses is dead. All we have is some stupid fucking project that will never appear. Axl is beatin' a dead horse. The old band will never come back..

Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: Saul on May 11, 2005, 05:06:01 PM I was watching an allmans brothers video bootleg recently and upon seeing all those guys on stage what with two drummers I thought about how crazy it would be if every member of GNR past and present got up on stage for one show. :o
So much talent between the different incarnations of the band .. wow. Adler AND Sorum back on drums , stinson and duff playing bass , ALL those guitar players. My lord. :nervous: Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: Madcap on May 11, 2005, 11:06:48 PM If Izzy, Axl, Slash and Duff would really got together I wouldn't care who's behind the drums. drums are a major part of the band. and if you knew that, you say differently. as for the topic, i would have to go with phil rudd or the guy from zep, what's his name. Well, i'ts progressive death metal, so i guess it would be too much for most of you... Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? It would be the slightly-less-new Guns N' Roses.. Not to be nit-picky. not to be nit-pickey? :P I think it's fairly clear from my first post on this thread - youre right not totally original line up but pretty close. I honestly feel that if Axl and Slash (with hopefully Duff and Izzy) reunited in some capacity, neither Adler or Sorum would be considered feasible options, so hence the question, who? Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? Post by: Krispy Kreme on May 12, 2005, 01:41:55 AM Sorry if this not an approriate place to post this, but I thought this is worthy of discussion somewhere. Sorry, this is not an appropriate topic that is worthy of discussion anywhere. It ain't gonna happen. Period. Title: Re: If original GNR reformed and neither Sorum or Adler came back, who on drums? But I dont like to hear those great old songs played by some band which has nothing to do with Guns n' Roses anymore. Except the lead singer. But if it goes that way, VR is more GnR than Axl's band.
