The lutz family capitalized off the murders to make money plain and simple. They concoted the entire story, got with a book writer, made a big thing out of it, and then a movie and got out of debt. A family lived their after the Lutz family and reported nothing bizarre or wrong. What KFD says in the first part of his post is 100% true. I don't know about the second part of his post but that could be true. When the son was convicted of killing his family, his lawyer came up with the idea of the possesion. One family did change the windows to try to stop people from passing the house. I have no idea if anyone lives there now and because of the movies the house is eerie.
