Title: McFarlane Toys to make "Appetite For Destruction" piece
Post by: jarmo on May 07, 2005, 06:47:53 PM
The following is taken from McFarlane Toys' web site:

---

Finally, we will be adding two brand-new music-related items to our online toy catalog in the form of our very first three-dimensional representations of legendary album covers. These pieces will take classic album covers and re-create them in a way only McFarlane Toys could, beginning with...

Appetite For Destruction (Guns 'n' Roses)

Led Zeppelin 1 (Led Zeppelin)

We have plans for more of these in the future.

More details and imagery of these products will be available in the coming months, so be sure to check the News section regularly to remain up-to-speed on the latest information pertaining to all things McFarlane.

Oh, yeah!!! ?

Fuck this. ?I broke this story over a year ago. . . ?on this board, I beleive.

Way before the Motley Crue box, I had a quote about the biggest rock bands of the 80's being produced.

Thanx for your patience.

I guess it 'll be the cross-cover and not the original cover (the Robert Williams painting). The cover with the girl and robot would be way cooler in 3d! But still, I'm looking forward to it.

the gnr one got scrapped to my knowledge as in they aren't maing it anymore. The led zeppelin one that was supposed to come out at the same time came out a long time ago.

Yeah I think something happened and they couldn't make the AFD cross, which is a shame. I was really looking forward to that.

I won these beauties on Sunday paid $26 inc postage to uk for 'em from the US Ebay site.

The description says that the replica album covers has CD's that play featured tracks on 'em, don't know what they are and don't want to wreak the packaging to play something already got....

Why don't they just do models of the whole original lineup? I bought the Slash doll and it looks fuckin class, it'd be cool to have the whole band, shame they scrapped that AFD cover

because to make the whole band that slash is in, they would be making scott weiland figures. I doubt any of the member(aside from steven) would want a set of figures to come out of their old project.

But he's dressed in the exact same clothes from the Sweet Child video so he obviously agreed to it. It's a moment in musical history, a musical icon from an era gone by captured in plastic or resin or whatever it is. They should do the whole band as individuals
