Title: KOHD Pre-1990 question
Post by: jameslofton29 on April 30, 2005, 08:13:39 PM
From 1988 to 1990 the radio stations here in California played the live version of Knockin On Heaven's Door constantly. I have a question. Why did the radio stations pick up on that particular live version of the song? I know its from a 1988 concert in Europe, but it wasn't a B-side until the Yesterdays single. So how did the stations get it? During that 2 year span it was practically a Top 10 hit while at the same time being an unreleased song. That could only occur in the world of GNR. Hell, the official release of the song in 1990 and 1991 didn't get as much airplay as that live version.

Actually, that MTV Live video is the ritz show. The one played on the radio was completely different. I get what you're saying about gettin old. Anytime you want to remember how much time has passed, just remember a fading GNR memory.
