Title: Slash intro to Heavens door
Post by: benny on April 28, 2005, 09:22:36 PM
I was watching the Tokyo DVD and was wondering what Slash plays as a lead in to Knocking on heavens door. Is it just some thing he made up as an intro before playing the opening chords to KOHD? cause it sounds awesome.

is a great intro, Jarmo is right "Only Women Bleed" (original from Alice Cooper), I downloaded that song because of that intro... is a good song.

i love and find it really interesting how gn'r would throw in short clips of songs like "only women bleed", "mother", "wild horses", "voodoo chile", and "bad time" into their sets.  i don't know of any other band that does that.  gn'r did a shitload of covers throughout their career btw.

"voodoo chile"
Voodoo Chile is another Hendrix song, it's a blues. Slash played Hendrix's Voodoo Child (Slight Return) - a more rocker song - before Civil War.
