Title: Re: More Sin City coming. Post by: Timothy on May 05, 2005, 04:21:08 PM In and interview Robert talked about the dvd version of Sin City here is what he said.
Question: What's going to be on the DVD? Robert Rodriguez: We shot the full stories of the books, and I knew we could truncate it down knowing that we weren't going to lose any scenes, eventually they would all be available for people to see. So the DVD will come out as a theatrical cut, and then there will be a separate disc that's got the individual episodes separated, with their own title card, and you can just watch, The Big Fat Kill from beginning to end in its full cut, as a single story, and then switch over and watch The Yellow Bastard, and that's 45 minutes, I'll have all the material back in, so it will be like the experience of picking up the books, where you pick up one story and you read it from beginning to end, and it will have all the material in it. So you can shuffle your own version of the movie and watch them all separately. http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/sincity.php that should be cool . Title: Re: More Sin City coming. Post by: Timothy on May 31, 2005, 12:16:23 PM Robert Rodriguez talked about the "Sin City" sequel as well with About.com and confirmed it's just one sequel being planned, not two, with shooting starting in January. Are there any returning characters from Sin City in the "A Dame to Kill For?" storyline? Rodriguez says "Yeah, that's what's cool is about "Dame to Kill For" is a lot of the characters that are dead in this movie are alive in that one because it takes place before, so Mickey Rourke's in there. That book is kind of cool because it takes place before."

it is just simply NOT GOOD. awful rythm. ridiculous characters and stories (in the details) and the style is just not there. trying to hide the emptyness of the directing ... and it is visually very irregular (in quality) i knew the movie would suck. it's damn boring. i'm sorry. im sure it'll be cool among 14 years old..... Title: Re: All things Sin City . Post by: 2NaFish on June 09, 2005, 06:59:56 AM i thought it was a pretty shit movie. i definetly thought too highly of itself. Yeah, it looked cool and everything, but the actual movie (remember when movies where about storylines and character development rather than stunning visual effects??) is pretty lame.

They weren't made to do anything else but for people to go in a theater and forget about every day life and just have some fun. you do know that people go to the movies most of the time to be entertained . Title: Re: All things Sin City . Post by: Izzy on June 15, 2005, 06:36:40 AM Saw it yesterday - i was expecting something more than 2 hours of people being tortured
How the hell can any one find that entertaining? I wasn't impressed and i wasn't shocked - i was just bemused, we wouldn't enjoy home videos from Iraqi prisons so why when its in black and white is it 'entertaining?' I loved the continuity errors! My favourite is that poor girl gets whipped - then Bruce Wills hugs her - lol, those deep back wounds must have healed quickly! Did the three stories have any relation to each other? The opening scene where the woman in the red dress is killed - did that serve any purpose...at all?? I find the black and white actually detracted from the film - it needed far more colour, or maybe even full colour - just made the whole thing visually tedious Elijah Wood gave the best performance of the film - and he said nothing, i think that says it all And just 2 hours? It felt like 4 Title: Re: All things Sin City . Post by: D on June 15, 2005, 07:00:11 AM outside of MR and MRS smith it was my favorite and the best movie ive seen this year

Post by: Hammy on June 29, 2005, 09:52:24 AM I'm surprised by all this negativity i've just seen it and i thought it was real good, can't wait to see the sequels, it was a good action/no-brainer film and i love the way it was shot really original and different, Mickey Rourke was great in it, Clive Owen was the only one who gave a ropey performance. Now i've never read any of the comics/books or whatever they are but i've read something about the sequel being a prequel and Clive Owen's character looking quite different...anyone have any idea about this?
