Zakks an awesome guitarist...was he bought in to replace Slash though...if so..he would of been ideal a Bluesy hard edged sound, if he was there in addition to Slash, im not so sure that would of worked.

BTW I'd be happy if Axl had such a talent in his band like Zakk. But that wouldn't work since Zakk is not a yes man, so the collaboration would have ended in a year (or a month or a week).

VR it's alright, nothing to be exited about....in fact, I listen to Contraband the first week then it got BORING....Never listen to it again! 

Same with ZAKK, his band BLS is...is...BORING! Same riffs, same solos, same head-banging metal crap that doesn't  ketch your attention like GNR does.

Zakk is one of the most badass and skilled guitar players around, Ive seen him live and he blew me away, and how you can call Contraband boring is beyond me, I believe it to be the best rock record of the last 7 or 8 years

Zack is an amazing guitar player.? If he would've joined up with GN'R that might've been the greatest guitar duo in history.? And the stuff they would have came up with would've have been way crazier than anything on Contraband.? Not to say I don't like Contraband.? It's a good album, but Slash's guitar work on it pales in comparision to the stuff he did in GN'R or even the Snakepit.? Hearing Zack and Slash trading off solos and spitting out riffs would have been awe inspiring.

Zakk Wylde plays amazing guitar, and I think he'd be good for Axl! If he'd joined Gn'R back in 95, we'd have had ChiDem by now, and lemme tell you, from what I've read, Zakk Wylde is a fucking down to earth guy, and because he ain't no yes man, he'd put some sense back in Axl. That's what I think anyway.

I like Zakk Wylde, but he can be a real closed-minded idiot. Same goes for Slash and anyone else who thinks rock/music is a responsibility.

I'm glad he's not in GNR, same with Slash. I'd rather hear them doing what they do.

Zakk is about as overrated as they come.  All his songs sound the same, solos the same, and the same cheesey ass lyrics.  His music is a shortcut to thinking.  There is only one true guitar God and that is Tom Morello.  Everyone else is fighting fot the second best guitar player.

Within his own "sphere" of being a heavy-metal guitarist, Zakk Wylde is hardly overrated.  Hell, not just any half-decent ax man could Randy Rhoads' shoes, but Zakk did.

As far as Morello is concerned, he is also one hell of a guitarist, but claiming he is numero uno is a stretch.

Zakk's great like tony the tiger would say.

Morello is only slightly innovative to make up for his lack of skill, that's about it.

It means, how about you grow up and talk like an adult.

Zakk is cool as hell and a badass guitar player but it wouldn't have worked with GN'R, I would like to see Zakk and Slash work together maybe slash should make an apperence on the next B.L.S album.

Yeah, that would be a really cool thing to see happen.  I really want to see the surviving Pantera members get back together and do something in honor of Dime.  And I thought about it for a long time, and Zakk is the only person I can imagine playing guitar for that.  He was one of Dime's best friends, and he fits right in with those guys.

I honestly believe that Zakk Wylde would have been ever better than BUCKETHEAD or the other guitarrist... in order to keep the original GNR feeling ... Now GNR looks more like a bad Techno heavy metal band... at least as long as the album doesnt come out...
