Title: How Long to Re-Record Guitars?
Post by: jameslofton29 on April 21, 2005, 06:55:20 PM
If Buckethead's parts are really being erased from CD, how long will it take to re-record his parts on the album? Could Axl be leaving his parts on the album since no one else has joined? How long did it take Gilby to redo Izzy's parts on The Spaghetti Incident?

Without knowing how many songs there are, it's all blind guessing.

It will take me approximately six hours to rerecord buckethead's parts. Really I think it should take about seven years followed by a 3 year mixing process an 11 show tour and than ten years of finishing touches.

Chinese Democracy starts.............In 2025!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't Axl just have an album's worth of songs re-recorded? Why hassle with re-recording a bunch of shit if you're only gonna do one album?

Didn't they already say BHs parts are staying? Also if BH helped write the parts he played on the album, then there is no point in recording them since he will get royatlies since he helped write the song.

another thing to remember which seems to be overlooked alot is that not only did big b play "solo's" but he probably wrote a ton of the main riffs and melodies for alot of the album. If they have to scrap his material they might have to scrap 50% or more of what material they have.  :o

Why is it that just because someone leaves the band that people automatically assume their parts will inevitably be re-recorded?

Common sense would suggest that Axl would keep everything from all band-members, past or present, and ultimately use whatever works best.

As far as I'm concerned we haven't heard anything official since Axl's lame statement about buckethead leaving. It would be nice to actually know what the fuck is going on instead of guessing.

Common sense got tossed out the window many years ago with this band. I hope your right though. Unless his parts  sucked ass which from what I've heard that's far from the case.
