Oh my, let me count the ways eBay has helped my GnR collection grow and expland over the years :)

The last thing I bought that was GnR related was a huge bunch of clippings for my sister.  The last cd I bought via eBay... I think it was the Live and Let Die Bootleg via Indianapolis.  Among others :)

I got the 3 Appetite-GNR-logo pic-discs, 3 weeks ago with original stickered sleeves for only 900 SEK, that would be $128. That's what I call a bargain. But not from eBay, it was from the swedish suction site www.tradera.com.

Anyway, last thing I bought on eBay was a couple of cassette singles for a few dollars.

Damn! I was the person you out bid for the puzzle!
I got a three and half foot two piece Use your Ill. in store display, really cheap.
I got a South American Itinerary. Also pretty cheap.
Couple of weeks ago I got a Greatest hits in store small hanging piece.

IMO, there is no reason to use ebay today. A few years ago it was the main way to go and I personally spent several thousand $$ building my collection. But today there are so many alternatives--trading sites, downloads, etc.--that ebay sellers are often a rip off and an anachronism. I have not even looked at ebay GNR auctions for probably a year or more.

I don't see many alternatives to build an official collection. Ebay rocks!

Most people here are talking about official collectibles, not bootlegs. I don't really see how you can trade or download a picture disc, for example.

Excactly.......99% of my G N' R purchases are official releases that are rare and hard to find. Why say ebay sellers are a rip off.............you dont have to pay the prices

Right, I agree. I was talking  about CDs, DVDs. For other  items there are few alternatives. I bought some stuff (other items) but found invariably that the seller was not entirely truthful about condition, size, etc.

I do agree with you about the CDRs and DVDRs, But its the buyers that push the price up. I saw a DVDR copy of RIR3 go for ?45 about 2 months ago. Starting price was only ?5............. in the description it even said no artwork supplied in slip case etc.

last item was A4D jap-LP. i should get it next week.
sad thing tho is, that i got to save my money right now, so my collection won't grow that much, although some of the rarer stuff is still missing. :/

In case anyone is interested in this item (Italian award), note that the fork and knife are supposed to be the other way round (fork on the left, knife on the right). In spite of what he claims, the seller didn't get the award in this condition. I saw him buy it half-broken (knife, fork and spoon had come unglued), and since then he's been trying to resell it this way. I told him he had made a mistake in fixing it, but he doesn't seem to care much.
So be careful  ;)

Wrong. There are so many sites for downloading and/or trading today (unlike a few  ago) that it makes little sense to use ebay to build a Cd or DVD collection. But be my guest  if you want, it is your decision and your money.

He said OFFICIAL collection. Bootlegs are not official as far as I know.

He did not say official releases. He  said officlal collection. Who knows what that means? What is an  official collection? It may the incorrect use of an adjective or something else, but who  really knows?

Well, official collection means official collectibles. Everything that was officially released and can be collected. Personally I see no ambiguity.
