Arewe discussing who's best Nu-GNR vs. VR or old GNR vs. VR?

Either way I prefer listening to VR at the moment, it just really hit my taste factor. Of course the VR album isnt as good as the old gnr. Also the new GN'R material doesn't appeal to me from what I've heard but I will buy the album purely because I want to see what Axl has been up to.

One other thing I'll ask. I have been watching some new GNR performances and why does Axl sing the old songs in this horrible high pitched voice?

G N' R are way ahead!
VR might be 3/4 G N' R ..but the sounds all different.....and thats what makes G N' R unique
AXL has changed the sound of G N' R over the years but they are still different!
is it just me or are there 2 many bands out there today that sound the same  (including VR)

They're completely different-sounding bands, regardless of the members in them. It's not really fair to compare them IMO.

GN'R by far.  Guns is what Velvet Revolver wants so badly to be, but they know they can't.  GN'R was the perfect band back in the day.  They had the talent, the attitude, the look, the great song-writing.  It comes down to this...Axl v. Weiland, and Izzy v. Dave.  Izzy vs. Dave isn't even a contest.  Izzy was a great songwriter and an all around really cool guy.  Dave is pretty cool, but lets face it, nobody goes to a VR show to see Dave Kushner.  And Axl vs Weiland...don't even get me started.  Axl's the greatest frontman there ever was.  Scott Weiland is ok, but not even in Axl's league.

Old GNR by far. Maybe after a few more albums VR might reign supreme...

1. The New GnR have yet to prove themselves so if ur asking if its them or VR, I cant decide quite yet

2. If its the old GnR thats a ridiculous question because VR cant hold a candle to Stone Temple Pilots so damn sure dont belong in the same sentence as GnR unless of course ur refferring to Matt,Duff, and Slash being former members.

I love VR, but putting them in the same category as one of the Greates Rock bands (If not thee greatest rock band) ever is fucking absurd.  :peace:

It's the same voice he had on AFD. It's his natural singing voice. As he sings more, it'll probably get growly again.

If you mean original GN'R (Slash, Axl, Izzy, Steven and Duff), then GN'R win hands down...but I'm not a fan of "new" GN'R at all so in that case I'd say Velvet Revolver.
