Well since Fortus is touring til late Sept, Tommy is touring this summer, Brain has those drum sessions in Europe in Sept and the court date is set for Nov, this really doesnt look good for 2005 a release date.

Dave...remember when we had all those who's gonna beat who to the punch threads GNR or VR....all sems a lil silly now.

It really is just getting beyond defendable. Sigh.

The album still could be release in Sept then they could wait to tour, but I don't think this band would do that.
Unless Axl has the right to call Fortus off his tour and the same goes for the only members. Merck said the album should be out in 2005 but he never gave a month.

It's truly sad that at this point they cant release a statement saying...ok the album is done but blah blah blah....cos if it isnt complete by now then A. this is a joke....and B. the 3 album thing is a much bigger joke.

Remember Axl in Londion saying that they would release the album followed by 2 more...'unless uncle Axl acts the assehole'??..

I do think the looming November court date could be a huge concern, despite what Mysteron is saying. VR are planning a Christmas release as well; axl could try to one up them but only if he felt truly ready.

I think 2005 is in serious jeopardy right now if it is a fact that tommy, richard, and brain are locked up til the beginning of october.

Does our resident wise man have any thoughts?

Axl has had 2003, 2004 and now 2005 to tweak this record. Sometimes you just need to leave it alone, thats where charm comes out in a record.

First off I am delighted HGTH is back, I missed all of your contributions whether I agreed with them or not. The other boards just didn't  float my boat........ I also realised that as annoyed as I have gotten with some peoples submissions, at least many are articulate, passionate and interesting and I salute you all for that. Debate is healthy and this band is more than a passing fancy to us all here anyway. Beats the crap out of the rest of the web for me!!

I notice that the VR vs GNR rubbish is finally dying down as people now look & listen to IRS and are happy that all is not lost for Axl and the nu-GNR. Wish all sides well, its for the best.

If Axl is finished the vocals etc as we have heard then I see no reason why he can't have CD out by November. The court case is strictly for the lawyers with document analysis etc being the order of the day. I do not foresee personal depositions by the old alumni of GNR and Axl being deemed necessary in court.

I'm sure Uncle Axl will be aware of every detail minute by minute throughout the whole case but it should not stop him making a video and getting the CD boat out to sea...Jesus it has to be Nov 2005 surely.....(?)

And as a matter of fact, a while ago I had a freind with a three legged cat. I almost feel like tracking her down, waiting 'till winter rolls around, taking the cat to a frozen pond and wait for the deed so I could take a pic to prove it. (The album probably won't be out by the next time it gets cold enough for ponds to freeze here, but at least you'd have a funny pic :D)

I just dont see what Axl is doing, does he wake up everyday and go work on finding a release date, still working in the studio, or does he just sit at home doing nothing  ???

What I am wondering is how much patience does the record company & GNR management have? At some point they have to say alright already, its been long enough and want a return on their investment. The music busines is a business ( unfortunately that explains why bad bands make millions) ?and I`m sure there is a breaking point ?somewhere.

In an ideal world we could have VR and GNR knocking their dicks in the dirt this Christmas.
I think there would be a huge sigh of relief on all sides if both bands got massive critical acclaim for their respective albums (CD, VR II). It may even ease the shit between Axl and the old band since contentment kills resentment as they say...

Keep the faith people its gonna come soon!!

Here is a bold prediction that can only bee seen here at HTGTH:  Velvet Revolver will end up having their second album released before we get anything out of GnR.  So yeah, we can keep the faith as we have been since 1991, we can keep it until 2021 but as long as Axl is in "control" of this band, it's not going to happen!

It doesn't look good for anything in 2005, hell I had Thanksgiving '03 tabbed as a release date.

It will be out within the next 2-3 years, i think those who have doubted a 2005 release are probably going to be proved right though - but there is plenty of time left.
