Title: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [Design poll - vote for a design] Post by: jarmo on April 14, 2005, 12:11:53 PM There seems to be some interest in these t-shirts so I guess it's time to move on.
Update: - The price hasn't been set yet. But it should be no more than 10 Euros / $13 + postage. Remember that price is just an estimate. No final price has been set yet. It'll most likely be under that, but I wanted you to have an idea where it's gonna be at so it won't come as a surprise.... Please only vote in the poll if you're gonna buy a t-shirt. If you're not interested in buying one, don't vote! We need a design and it's gonna be something quite simple. For example: #1 Address on front: (http://hem.bredband.net/jarmo/yabb/temp/t-shirts/htgth_t-shirt_basic-urlfront.gif) #2 Address and slogan on front: (http://hem.bredband.net/jarmo/yabb/temp/t-shirts/htgth_t-shirt_basic-urlfront2.gif) #3 Address on back: (http://hem.bredband.net/jarmo/yabb/temp/t-shirts/htgth_t-shirt_basic-urlback.gif) #4 Address and slogan on back: (http://hem.bredband.net/jarmo/yabb/temp/t-shirts/htgth_t-shirt_basic-urlback2.gif) There'll be two color options (black or white) and the option of either a regular t-shirt or a ladies shirt. /jarmo Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: Nytunz on April 14, 2005, 12:14:35 PM i think the t-shirts on that pic is great! Lets just have them like that! Simple, and nice design.. Maybe also in one other colour..
Yeah! Thats great!! Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: Pandora on April 14, 2005, 12:38:36 PM I liked the one you sent me with the message "we know about patience". That defines us right off the bat, no? ;D

Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: *Izzy* on April 14, 2005, 01:15:07 PM The front should be the back and the back should be the front in my opinion, other than that they're great

Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: 33 on April 14, 2005, 03:32:10 PM Jarmo why was my post on here removed? It was only saying I thought the t-shirts were cool?
Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: BaDoBsEsSiOn418 on April 14, 2005, 03:44:13 PM yea, i do like the "we know about patience" thing. remove the htgth.com on the back, and put that instead. my opinion, of course
Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: hackvresse on April 14, 2005, 05:06:08 PM Looks cool. But I think you should improve the HTGTH logo. That's a bit too simple...
Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: Malcolm on April 14, 2005, 05:23:15 PM Looks great jarmo..Id go with white but it dont matter...Ill be buying one
Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: willow on April 14, 2005, 06:37:04 PM I agree it should have a simple little quote on it too. I like my tee's with print on the back only. And just a small something on the breast.
Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: Axls Locomotive on April 14, 2005, 06:45:21 PM jarmo the minimalist :P
i think reducing the size of the text by about 20% would be a good idea...its better to have all the text flat on the back and not moving into the sides or under the armpits it would be cool to have a small sentence of text in small letters at the corner of the shirt, maybe the "we know about patience" as mentioned above or something...enough to make people ask, "what does that say?"...just a thought! Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: StoneTempleRoses on April 14, 2005, 09:07:40 PM I cant see any picture of a shirt in Jarmos first post, just a blank space ???

Printing on the breast or on the sleeve might be impossible or will raise the cost tremendously.
Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: Eric on April 15, 2005, 10:28:07 AM Agreed, but a guns n roses reference would be great : ok:

Bad mistake to put the same thing on the front and back. I say, HTGTH on the front, but a little smaller, and here today. . . gone to hell on the back. And as far as i know it can be done without new films and such. Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: doubletalking on April 17, 2005, 02:28:18 PM I Really like the shirts too - I also would like the "we know about patience" or another qoute to be printed on it

I wish you would consider having a slogan or something Guns n roses related on it. Jarmo...I know some others have posted their design examples and I don't want to steal anyone's thunder here (some GREAT ideas out there BTW), but if you're interested in collaborating with me on a design for the shirt and putting this thing to bed, I'd be more than happy to offer you my services (as I do this as part of my living) free of charge, of course ;) Email me if you're interested. Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: jarmo on April 25, 2005, 07:17:05 PM In my opinion, I think it's more logical to have the URL on the back and the site's name plus phrase on the front.
I posted some new ideas where I put the URL on the front and it just looks "odd" (in my opinion). /jarmo Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: Pandora on April 25, 2005, 08:03:27 PM Hmm, you might be right. OK, I take back what I said by PM. They were great, but the other way round ;D

1. Please change front to back and back to front, please 2. Can you use two different colours on the shirt without raising the price? If so maybey the "We Know About ? ? Patience" could be printed in grey. 3. Would the "WKAP" look better in a straight line rather than WE KNOW? ? ? ?? ? ??? ??? ?I think so. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?ABOUT PATIENCE Just some thoughts? :) :smoking: Izzy? :smoking: Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: pilferk on April 26, 2005, 12:24:48 PM (http://hem.bredband.net/jarmo/yabb/temp/t-shirts/htgth_t-shirt_black_patience-front.gif) This one is my favourite so far. Would it be possible to do a version without the "we know about patience"? One in white would look good to. I would definitly buy one Jonx Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: Pandora on April 26, 2005, 01:26:58 PM 2. Can you use two different colours on the shirt without raising the price? Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: jarmo on April 26, 2005, 01:49:13 PM I can understand both sides.
One one hand makes sense to have the address on the back (like when bands list their tour dates on the back and band name/logo on the front) but at the same time it does look kinda good when you don't have that much text on the front. :nervous: /jarmo Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 Post by: pilferk on April 26, 2005, 02:23:59 PM I can understand both sides. Ladies shirts come in only one size, so it might be a bit difficult to wear by the end of your pregnancy, but on the other hand you can still wear it afterwards ;) If you really want to wear it while you're pregnant, you could choose one of the larger male sizes, like L. I always just ignored it and payed money order online. StoneTempleRoses Well, might be the right time to register ;D Actually I think you don't even need to open an account to send money. But yeah, money orders won't be accepted because they're a mess to deal with and I want to keep this as simple as possible. Unless someone is willing to pay me for the job :hihi: Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: Pandora on May 04, 2005, 06:03:04 PM Actually I think you don't even need to open an account to send money. Let me correct my own mistake : you DO need an account to send money. So as I said, might be the right time to register. How do I add funds to my PayPal account? If you have a confirmed bank account, you can add funds to your PayPal account via electronic funds transfer. After you initiate an electronic funds transfer, the funds will become available in your PayPal account within 3-4 business days. You will receive an email confirmation every time you add funds to your account. If you do not wish to add funds to your PayPal account, you may send a PayPal payment using a credit card or Instant (bank account) Transfer. Note: Members from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, or the U. K. cannot transfer funds from a confirmed U.S. bank account. http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&eloc=1070&loc=1059&unique_id=902&source_page=p/ema/index-outside&flow= /jarmo Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: jameslofton29 on May 05, 2005, 08:17:34 PM Jarmo, I have a question. If that`d make a problem with axl`s lawyers, he`d be a REAL asshole, and since he isn`t, there won`t be any problems with the rights. Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: Ignatius on May 07, 2005, 04:14:07 PM Pandora, Jarmo..since you guys are in charge ( don't know if Christos is still involved) do you already have a quote for the shirts? has it been posted? I'm just trying to figure out why 125 people were willing to buy a shirt at $15 a month ago and now it seems like 50 of those people are not interested anymore. The only logical reason to this would be if the shirts were to priced above $15, but that doesn't seem to be the case... Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: Pandora on May 07, 2005, 05:28:53 PM Yes we do have a quote for a minimum of 100 shirts, and it's much inferior to $15, but we haven't talked about that yet.
I can't quite figure out either why we suddenly have so few people voting. Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: jameslofton29 on May 07, 2005, 05:31:50 PM But don't you have to get permission to sell something where the name is owned by someone else? Even if Axl or whoever owns the name didn't care if someone sold products using the name, wouldn't you still have to get permission?
Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: Pandora on May 07, 2005, 06:00:53 PM As far as we know, there's no copyright on the name "Here today gone to hell".

We're not using the GN'R name or any images related to the band to sell shirts. That's why there's no GN'R logos, song lyrics or pics of band members on the shirt. /jarmo Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: Gunner80 on May 07, 2005, 06:57:44 PM I like # 4 also.
Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: jameslofton29 on May 08, 2005, 05:41:32 PM I think the main reason for the sudden disinterest in the shirts is because you'll only sell them to people with Paypal. Alot of people don't have Paypal. The shirts would sell like hotcakes if you had the option to buy with a money order. I guess us non Paypal fans will have to wait for a shirt to surface on Ebay.
Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: Pandora on May 08, 2005, 06:30:25 PM I'm not sure about that. The voting didn't exactly go like crazy even before we announced what the payment method would be.
I've had tons of problems with foreign money orders before, that's why we can't accept them. If we accepted them, soon enough some people would want to send cash, cheques or god knows what. Sorry but this is not an online store where you can pick and choose whatever you want. We're just individuals doing the best we can during our free time. Besides, I really don't see what the big deal is with opening a Paypal account. It's free after all, and not that hard to use. Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: jameslofton29 on May 08, 2005, 07:25:15 PM Pandora, I'm not trying to insult what you guys are trying to do. I think its cool that you are doing this for us fans. But alot of people dont have credit cards to open a paypal account. Alot of people don't even have a bank account. I can see how it would be a hassle to deal with money orders. I dont have Paypal or a credit card. So unfortunately, I wont be able to get a shirt. I hope someone who buys some will sell one on Ebay.
Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: Ignatius on May 09, 2005, 04:12:40 AM You don't need a credit or debit card to have a paypal account. Just a checking account will do. Verified paypal members must have a few credit cards and can send and receive as much money as they want, if you are not verified, you can even send and recieve payments up to $250 ( I think). On a side note, pretty much everybody on ebay has a paypal account, It's much easier and convenient. I'm not a heavy ebay user, but I've bought a few things. The seller's only payment method was paypal or credit card. Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [NEW POLL] Post by: pilferk on May 09, 2005, 10:04:01 AM Yes we do have a quote for a minimum of 100 shirts, and it's much inferior to $15, but we haven't talked about that yet. I can't quite figure out either why we suddenly have so few people voting. Maybe because people expressed their interest and have not returned to the thread again..... The thread title only says "NEW POLL", but not it's subject.? They MIGHT just assume it's a new poll on whether people are interested, and figure they already said they were.? Or they may just not have noticed it. Just a suggestion:? If you can see who voted, and who hasn't, on the design...maybe contact those, via PM, from the original thread who said they'd like a shirt and ask them to vote if they are still interested? Or, if you can't see who's already voted..maybe just send a PM off to all 125 people who originally voted and ask them to vote on the style IF they're still interested? Just a suggestion. In addition, since the original voting you've said 1) No "big" sizes (XXL or bigger), Paypal only payment, and, I think, "one size" girl shirts. That, too, may cull your potential buyers down. Title: Re: HTGTH t-shirts - part 2 [Design poll - vote for a design] Post by: Pandora on May 09, 2005, 11:29:52 AM As far as I know we can't see who has voted and who hasn't. I can't anyway, maybe Jarmo can but I doubt it.
If we don't offer different sizes for girl shirts or sizes over XL (damn me, I didn't even know there was anything over XXL), it's because the printing company doesn't make them. They probably don't get a lot of requests for sizes over XL. And as far as fit cuts go, it's pretty common to see them in one size only. Nothing exceptional there. Once again, it would be nice to be able to cater to a larger audience, but it's just technically impossible. I'm just saying that now that the info has come out, there may be people who won't/can't buy a shirt.? That's all.? Given this web site isn't really in the "t-shirt" business, I dont' think anyone expects you to be able to cater to everyone. Oh, and for the record, I'm 6 ft 3.? XL's are just too dang short.? One wash and dry of a cotton t and it's almost impossible to wear. XXL's are perfect (that's what my current HTGTH '02 tour shirt is...and yes, I still wear it).... My brother is 6ft 9.? Anything less than a 3XL on him is comical....like a belly shirt.
