Yep, they played a bit of the main riff to Jungle in a medley they played of all the bands that were on the bill for the show.

During the medley James mentioned that Slash's Snakepit were there and started playing the riff and sang "Welcome to the Jungle!" (pretty badly) before going into the next song.

It was just a silly little thing Metallica did, don't take it so seriously.
They also played bits of Skid Row's Youth Gone Wild, Slayer, White Zombie and a few others.

i agree, metallica sucks major league, but gn'r fans still might want to see what the fuzz is about and, in general, what other people make out of the best band in the world. I haven't got the impression tho that mettalica has talked shit about axl for years even tho they have mentioned him and gn'r a few times...

I don't think it's really worth hearing anyway, James plays the melody of the main riff for a few bars and sings one line.

Ya know what... I actually quite like some of Metallica's stuff. Up to and including the Black Album, they were good. After that, they got shit, except for the S+M album... that was kewl.
Sure, Metallica aren't a patch on Gn'R, and James Hetfield has some serious thinking to do... I mean, pissing off a hardcore Gn'R fan isn't a good idea, so pissing off millions of them is even worse.
Now... I'm rather interested in laughing at how Hetfield attempts to sing WTTJ... I wanna hear it! Does he attempt to sing Axl stylee? Or does he turn WTTJ into a thrashfest of NO!!-ness?
