Title: Sanctuary must have a lot of faith in Axl
Post by: Dr. Blutarsky on March 17, 2005, 05:54:36 PM
After $13 MIllion Dollars and 10 years in the making, no Chinese Democracy. But Axl still has a label and hasn`t thought of dropping them. This is a good sign. IT must be an unbelievable album coming our way.

A) Who says they havent thought of dropping him?

B) Even if this album is mediocre its still gonna sell a few million, and tecniqually Sanctuary have paid Axl very little.

A) From that statement from Merck it did not sound like they were at the end of their rope with Axl or anything like that.

B) You may have a point there. GNR is still a viable brand. But I can`t see Axl coming up with something mediocre after working on it this long. If it is mediocre he is done.

Question.  Geffen was the label GNR were with originally. Did Sanctuary get GNR from Geffen? or did Geffen buy Sanctuary and GNR ended up there for that reason? I`m not sure how that worked.

sanctuary is not their label, sanctuary is only their management company.

Actually I don't agree. If Axl doesn't release CD within the next year, I think the next chapter in the GNR story is being dropped by their record company. ?I have a feeling that at some point CD was rejected by the record company and thats why we've been forced to wait a few more years. it's obvious that CD was supposed to come out late 2002-early 2003, but something happened to prevent it. The only logical explanation is that it was rejected by the record company so he started over again. This happens more than you think to other artists. So its possible it happened to GNR.

1) Sanctuary is not the GnR label, Sanctuary is management and publishing.. Geffen is the label

2) the million dollars were Geffen's, not Sanctuary's
