Title: what distortion do u use for solo's Post by: D on March 16, 2005, 10:29:40 PM ive fixed my distortion problem and the distortion for my riffs is amazing now, its just filthy
now however i cant get a tone for shit for my solo's my sustain sucks, how do u improve sustain on your guitar???????? any idea what distortion is best to use for solo's only? i want a kick ass high pitched, sleazy fuckin tone for my solo's any ideas? suggestions? I don't solo so much, but it's a nice, warm tone..
sample on request.. Title: Re: what distortion do u use for solo's Post by: darkmonth on March 17, 2005, 01:16:18 PM Use a fat sound, by using a JCM800 style tone, with about 5 gain.... fatten the sound with an EQ shaped like a sad mouth.... so mid ranges are higher than bass and treble.
This will give you a good sound for solo's and is exactly what Slash does (except with better hardware). I just use my Lead channel on my Marshall tube amp.
