Title: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: gunsnfnroses on March 16, 2005, 12:55:07 AM Why the FUCK do people like this song?! It sounds like a fucking lazy effort by the band!
the song sucks! Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: mitchejw on March 16, 2005, 01:08:01 AM i believe this is an izzy song? am i wrong?
it's mostly insturmental...doesn't mean it's bad...although I agree I would've liked more lyrics... if ur gonna hate a song...i think u should hate "mmm bop" by Hanson or "La La" by Ashlee Simpson... Don't waste your hate on something at least half assed vs something that bares no ass at all.... Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: gunsnfnroses on March 16, 2005, 01:11:26 AM it is pretty disappointing finding out this was an Izzy song. but then i think of the ju ju hounds album and everything falls into place.
Hanson's Great! Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: WARose on March 16, 2005, 01:47:38 AM mh I like that song. Especially live it`s great with extended solo I think.
Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: GunsNHalen on March 16, 2005, 02:05:27 AM I love this song. The latin guitar instrumental sound is awesome.
Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: Steve McKagan on March 16, 2005, 02:56:44 AM I guess you haven't heard the live version of it. One of the highlights of the UYI-tour!
Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: Estranged fucker on March 16, 2005, 03:18:44 AM Oh my god, are you for real??? (no offend) This song is one of my favorites on uyi 1!!! I could think of a lot songs that are way less good!! And you should listen to this song live in paris 1992. With the warren beatty rant and the long intro it's absolute killer!!!
Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: audjon on March 16, 2005, 03:37:03 AM You're just talkin' jive man, DTJ is an eminent song. Great riffs, superb lyrics, and one majestic solo.? :peace:

Double talkin jive is one of the best. It rocks, espcially live.
Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: Genesis on March 16, 2005, 08:15:58 AM You're fucking crazy. DTJ is a great song, easy to play and a great song to play live. The riff is catchy too...
Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: gunsnfnroses on March 16, 2005, 11:34:46 AM hearing/watching it performed live is the killer. I think Matt is such a fucking goon. his drums blow, the bass blows, the lyrics are few and far between. I will say the only "effort" comes from Slash, but seeing as he would do the same extended solo every night they played this, maybe it wasn't such an effort overall. I still think the song's pretty lame and Hanson has more than one good song!

Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: *Izzy* on March 16, 2005, 12:27:48 PM You're a Double Talkin' Jive MuthaFucker if ya don't like this song?yet like Hanson
Even without the spanish guitar solo and outro the main riff is fuckin' brilliant and easy to play, the bass is cool and the vocals obviously kick ass. It could use another four verses, I don't think it's great live. Come on even My World is beter than Hanson? ;D Hanson >:( :smoking: Izzy? :smoking: Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: mrlee on March 16, 2005, 01:17:56 PM This dude obviously doesnt want to listen to anyone elses oppinions
Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: gunsnfnroses on March 16, 2005, 05:26:42 PM well,
listening to that song for almost 13 years, there's not much that can be done. just wondering why it's such a hyped song. then again, is there ever an answer to these questions? mmmmmmmmmmmbop Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: *Izzy* on March 16, 2005, 05:33:59 PM Just listen to the lyrics alone without the music, I find them very meaningfull and true to life, now listen to the lyrics of a certain Hanson song? ::)? Now listen to the music and tell me how Hanson could be in any way even compared to it in musical genious? ???
:smoking: Izzy? :smoking: Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: Johnny Rattlesnake on March 16, 2005, 05:54:33 PM On the album, it's one of the only songs you can hear Izzy play the rhythm guitar cause Slash does'nt double it. Also, live it has a great intro before it breaks into song.
Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: *Izzy* on March 16, 2005, 06:00:25 PM Slash does double it, kind of? : ok:
:smoking: Izzy? :smoking: Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: Wheres Izzy on March 16, 2005, 06:09:38 PM When I was in a band last summer we all had very different musical tastes so we were picking covers songs to play at this thing in my town. We each got to pick one song since we were doin 4 covers. I picked DTJ. So I am gonna have to heartily disagree with your sentiments on what I feel is a song with great lyrics and a fucking kick ass riff.
Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: borntolose on March 16, 2005, 10:13:14 PM On the cd the song is okay...
..but on the live video it is great!!!!!!!!!!! Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: jameslofton29 on March 17, 2005, 05:51:49 PM Yeah I love this song too. When I seen GNR back in 91, Izzy actually sung the song. I don't think that happened very often. Axl took over the song for some reason. Its obviously one of Axl's favorites though. But Izzy singing it should have been on Live Era.

Axl started singing it instead of Izzy because Izzy left the band. Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: *Izzy* on March 18, 2005, 06:17:24 AM Axl mostly fucks the song up, I think? :-\
:smoking: Izzy? :smoking: Title: Re: Double Talkin' Jive Post by: Rob on March 18, 2005, 02:44:51 PM I really like this song. I look at it more like an instrumental. Izzy does vocals, and he does a decent job on it, but the main focus of this song is the awesome guitar work. The guitars really don't get going until the lyrics are over. Very cool song though.
