Axl, The world changed with Appetite and has never been the same. Rock was re-defined with WTTJ, PC, SCOM and every other kick ass tune. With Use Your Illusion I and II we all matured with you. You wedged your way into our very concept of music and for the last 10 years that huge spot you made in music has been left void. Those who no longer have the talent or vision to be a part of what GNR is today are peddling second rate songs like "Fall to Pieces" to your people, man. And we are buying the sludge they are pumping like heroin addicts using methadone. What we really need is you. That's our fix, that's what will satisfy us. Your presence is not only wanted but required. You have a certain responsibility to us. We, your fans, your brothers and sisters, who piled into the rare venues where you've performed recently, are starving for your work and your truth. Forget what happened in 2002 on MTV, forget the earpiece that wouldn't work and the way people say you sounded. They all heard Madagascar, they know your heart can still pour out in your voice better than ever. Even if your voice isn't exactly how it sounded in the 90's, who's is? Have you listened to Steve Tyler, Elton John or Jon Bon Jovi lately? Like you thier voices have changed and many say for the better. Time changes things, we accept and expect that. No one expects you to be anything other than what you are. We have faith in you. Guns N Roses and Chinese Democracy, good, bad or indifferent are you......and that's what we, all of us, need. We've had about a million of these threads already, 500 000 of which were immediately locked.. Why? Because they're pointless.. We all (at least a pretty fucking big majority) here want CD to be released.. Why do you think your post will be the one that'll make Axl go "If 'opensorce' wants it now, I just might have to release it right now..."?? Is it because you put down VR, and now concider yourself a friend of Axl's? Why? This thread adds nothing that wouldn't have been said.. Nothing. And I know that you only have 2 posts under your belt so you might not really get this board yet, so don't take it too personally.. But to all others, as an example, this will be added to the ever growing list of things that should _not_ be posted. |
